1. Exactly! As I commented on some post at Facebook; "It is the same as replacing the intro soundtrack of My Little Pony with Slipknot's Disasterpiece".
2. So they've finally done it, the movie from Assassin's Creed. Most of us have surely seen various short-movies that are set around the AC-universe, even parkour/freerunning videos have been themed to this, and as Warcraft movie hits the screens this summer, Assassin's Creed movie heads to them at 21st December, this very year! See the trailer for yourself and tell us what you think: My first thought: What the heck were they thinking when they put that rap-song (Kanye West I was told, never listened to it so couldn't say for sure) to the trailer when the picture transferred from "today" to the renaissance era? That person should be hit in the face real hard to be honest. It just does not fit there, it has absolutely nothing to do with Assassin's Creed, nothing to do with renaissance era, so in who's dreams was this a good implementation? Second thought: This is freaking amazing! I've honestly been afraid of every movie that are being based on video games, but since they've already made books and all from Assassin's Creed, it couldn't be that bad, right? The Books can be used to assure that they follow the specifics and games on the other hand give a perfect audiovisual road to success with this movie. It is a must see for me, not sure if I'll be heading to the theaters in order to see it, but I'll be getting it on Blu-ray, no doubt!
3. The product box / specifications actually tell, at least for my edition of GTX 970, that the requirement is something like 400-500W, though I don't know if they've counted the other parts in for this calculation, sounds and would be really high power consumption if that was solely for the GPU. But of course, clocking will increase the requirements and as I said, I upgraded the PSU "once and for all" to supply enough power for everything I have and will get for my rig. At the moment I don't believe I am even reaching that 600W, but still. Better to have more than enough than with the limit and chance for the power to run out in though situations that stress the GPU/CPU :p
4. I'm also highly recommending the GTX 970! Bought it for my PC that otherwise has about 5 years old components, CPU and all that. Yet almost every game runs with the maximum graphics. Most of the games are GPU driven after all. Arma 3 is literally one of the few games I am not able to run on maximum, because my CPU lacks the performance and I have only 8 GB of memory. I got a bit more expensive version of the GTX 970 with TwinFrozr -cooling (since my previous GPU had this and it was noiseless and effective on what it did.) and if I remember correctly, it was some sort of a "GAMING 4G" edition. Had about 80 bucks more price than the regular editions. GTX 980 is also viable option, but if you're not ready to throw that much money in it and if you don't mind overclocking your rig anyways, it is rather useless and does not meet the price tag. Encore: You don't need to upgrade your whole rig! I'm still running on without an SSD, just 8 GB of some crappy old DDR3-memory, i5 CPU that wasn't even the "toughest" 5 years ago and so. Only thing I needed to upgrade alongside with the graphics card was the power supply. I had something like 600W and have now upgraded to 850W so the GTX 970 gets all the power it needs. Surely I took some extra capacity there as well, so don't think the 850W PSU is a requirement ;)
5. The truth now, about what I really did play: Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, with a couple of matches in CS:GO... 26 hours spent on watching Game of Thrones and there you pretty much have it... What do we learn from this? Never plan on doing anything, won't happen!
6. 450W PSU? Well be damned! When I got a new GPU (GTX 970) to my otherwise 4-5 years old gaming rig I upgraded my PSU from 450W to 850W since I wasn't sure if the old one was capable of handling it or not.
7. Yea well, CS:GO has been easy to foresee so far, since I'm trying to learn and master the competitive aspect of it. Daily matches keep the flow going! I'd actually love to boot up DiRT Rally as well... But maybe I'll do it this evening, rather than weekend. :mhmm:
8. One weekend just went past, and I am clad that Friday is a holiday, and so is the next Monday, so it'll be a long damn weekend! I'll be playing, well, most likely a couple of matches on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Besides that, me and my girlfriend have rebooted our "dreamlife" in The Sims 3, so that'll be on the list. Just maybe I'll kick in some Stardew Valley to catch up the seasons and start grinding money on it. Last but not least, I also downloaded Arma 3, which I actually played last when it was on Alpha, so I'm sure I'll enjoy those improvements, additions and other stuff added later on. That's it for the PC side, as I wrote this, I remembered that the Thieve's Guild DLC will be hitting shelves the day after tomorrow, so The Elder Scrolls: Online will roll on my Xbox One for quite some time too! All scheduled, don't ya think?
9. Yeah, I just wouldn't bother sending it to Thrustmaster and wait for all that long time if I can just put grease up there all by myself. Let me try to explain the noise a bit more: It is made by two plastic pieces rubbing together when the pedal is pressed (between the pedal and the platform I would guess). Kind of same if you move your sofa/bed around by pushing and you hear that annoying, loud noise, but it is a bit higher by its pitch I would describe. You know what I mean?
10. Since I've been racing with my Thrustmaster 458 Ferrari wheel and haven't yet bothered to upgrade for a better pedal set. My acceleration pedal has started to keep some really high noise occasionally when pressed. I was wondering if I can put some WD-40 to get rid of this noise (which sounds much like there is just not enough grease in some spot). Or would you rather leave it to be, go for warranty or something? Kind of scared of what is in there and would I break something if I would just spray some WD-40 in there?
11. Might as well throw in my laptop's desktop;
12. Yup! I've been looking for some decent and cheap monitors so I'd buy 3 at once, so I don't end up like now, the other monitor isn't even Full HD...
13. Actually rolled all over again with the setup, since we got new tables me and my girlfriend. There is now way more table-space and some better positioning possibilities for speakers, monitors and all that stuff. Downsides: Now I can not fit the damn Playseat near my PC again! Well, temporarily I can, but it is always a pain in the back to drag the whole thing around the room. I think I can manage! I've been looking for a way to attach my PC to my television and the racing wheel setup to my PC from a bit longer distance... Really long HDMI cable and USB-hub required I assume. :mhmm:
14. Aaaand... finally got the Fan Controller installed, so the side fan wont run on 2200 rpm all the time, but is adjusted by the temperature of my CPU instead! No idea why the first picture wanted to lean back and go sideways... :hmmm:
15. I personally think the idea of bringing a console and PC so close together is great! They're both running on Windows operating system so there shouldn't be such a big deal. In best cases, it would remove some stupid restrictions from Xbox One (in example; the fact that you can not install a Flash Player for your Xbox One browser...) and provide the possibility of playing Xbox games on PC and vice versa. It is for the game developers to figure out if they want to focus their game development to best meet the boundaries of Xbox One or go on for the PC in mind.
16. Just few more pics of my rig from other sides of it, they're a bit older pictures so they do not have these new installments yet!
17. Just recently my PC's chassis rear fan started keeping noise if I set the speed anywhere higher than the lowest possible. I decided to get a replacement and with that, maybe get one additional fan since the one I had on my side panel hasn't worked for ages, it's just been there and waiting. So I did and I finally received the package yesterday. Installed those sons of b**ches and damn they look fabulous! My chassis has blue led fans all over it, so I got the rear fan with blue led lights as well. For the side panel, I decided to go with pure white, which on the picture seems to blend a bit to the blue, but on a dark room it sure looks more white. The dust filter is also covering the light coming out of it, which kind of pisses me off, but better to keep the filter on... :) Next "problem": Now my PC is keeping a big noise from these new fans that do not have the speed control option. Especially the one on the side panel, which rotates with the maximum of 2250 rpm all the time, regardless the temperatures (no sensors on those fans either). I managed to Google out some solutions and I might just be crazy enough to try out these accessories called "Fan Controllers". Basically I've been looking for some cool LCD-monitor plugs for 5.25 block, since I don't have anything on the front but some old DVD tray. From there I could control the speed and maybe even automate the speed of these fans. Do you guys have any experience on those controllers what so ever? :para:
18. Keeping it clean! Samsung Galaxy S5 with Aviary launcher, if someone is wondering. Though the Aviary does not do much to the home view, just some fancy functions elsewhere. And the reason for my battery percentage being shown twice is that I have the Avast Battery Saver application that switches stuff on and off depending on my location (WiFi only on when I'm at home and 4G connection only on when I'm on the move, saves a lot of battery to be honest!).
19. That's a very good question to be honest. If they're even trying to implement any kind of "pay to play it online" they could as well just turn over and re-create Windows Vista. It's a whole different story with MMO-games that you actually pay to play anyway, but I for one would not pay a penny from playing games online on my PC (apart from the internet connection of course). I remember playing few games on GFWL back when it was the "thing". GTA IV and few others that I can't remember right now, but they did not require any kind of subscription to anything. Just the LIVE account which is free. As for the original topic, I will be looking forward to the PC version of Forza! Hopefully they'll buff up the graphics a bit, and add up a mod support and so forth. :cheeky:
20. Just bought the game and I must admit that I love it! Only bad thing at the moment is the fact that you can not adjust the difficulty of the game (or at least I couldn't find any settings for this, AI difficulty I mean). Thereby I end up being in the 5th - 8th place on every race, with huge time difference to 1st place... I am not even that terrible, but I guess it takes some time for me to get from Forza to "hole-in-a-head" rally racing! Handling is amazing with the wheel and it all kicks back just great. I just wonder, is there anyone else using the Thrustmaster's TH8A shifter with a H-pattern? I'm not able to bind any of the gears in game, so it is useless. Do they even support it, or just the Logitech's shifter at the moment? By the way: Where is the official discussion board for DiRT Rally? ;)
21. Does Carbon have a full wheel support? :para: I finally configured the wheel and the H-shifter to TDU2, but the game keeps crashing and the first mission to get on racing school got bugged (couldn't get in or anything). Any tips on how to fix the issue?
22. As I've mentioned in the other thread, I have moved my racing wheel from Xbox One to my PC to experience that side of the table as well. I tried to scroll my Steam Library in case I would've found something that supports my steering wheel (Thrustmaster TX -series wheel) with the H-shifter (TH8A). The games I already tried (GRID 2, Spintires...) were unable to handle my wheel. In GRID 2 I ended up in a problem where something seemed to jam the "up-button" and thereby I could not even map the controls right to begin with. Spintires ran good but I did not get the car moving at all, so maybe some problems with the settings and/or controller mapping? Also I noticed that Spintires seemed to use shared buttons with shifter and the wheel (mapping the shifter's first gear also switched a button from the wheel to work as that) I got the wheel working great on GRID Autosport, but it seems like the shifter is not recognized at all, and I don't see any remapping options for the H-layout shifting. Sequential shifting with the wheel's paddles works fine though. Aside of the story I just wrote, I am here to find suggestions of games that support the racing wheel I have. Preferably the shifter-support is in there too! Another question is that how exactly do I get to play TDU2, as I have it in my Steam Library but to my knowledge the servers have been taken off? Some unofficial servers / patches or such required? At least it should have a full wheel support :duck:
23. I actually just ordered the Playseat Floor-Mat and a wireless keyboard with touch pad. Euro Truck Simulator, I am coming for you! ...And many other games too, that do not fully support the racing wheel as a controller!
24. A bit late but here we go! I am likely to purchase the floor mat for the Playseat, since I have the ugly plastic carpet on floor and the seat probably ruins it even further, which I would like to avoid, though I'm only renting the apartment. The basic idea on this "build" is basically to turn the primary monitor around and hop on racing! I played few games with it and sadly noticed that many of them need a keyboard/mouse in order to navigate through menu's, but I managed to get those a little bit closer. Also, the left and right speakers are easily movable to each side of the monitor when it is turned, and you can see the subwoofer on the left behind the Playseat, so the sound system is giving the driving experience some amazing blast!
