  1. Looks like the Criterion have been watching lots of 80s tv and films and have made cars that are a homage to famous vehciles ! All the cars have a special feature from hitting L3 !!!!! Also supposedly the new island might be released soon too So we have a: Jansen 88 Special - BTTF DeLorean (L3 makes it hover) Hunter Manhatten - Ecto 1 Carson Nighthawk - K.I.T.T. Cavalry Bootlegger - General Lee ... it's available in Orange too (L3 sounds the horn !!!!!) definitely going to be getting these !
  2. Yes this is the GT car to go with GT5 on the Ps3 isn't it ... looks cool ... the coolest Citroen ever it isn't ... that's the DS
  3. 5 replies and not one about the sexy rear ends !!!!! obviously you all miss-read my post !
  4. Well Nodz has done the sensible thread ... So here's my offering ... it's Lamborghini showing off new matt-luster colours available on there cars
  5. Can't have a Murci/LP-6xx SV without a big 'SV' written on the side ... seen a few Diablos like that
  6. induction loop charging has been in development for a few years ... was shown on the Gadget show a series or 2 ago and eventually it'll be on everything ... laptops, mobiles, mp3 players ... makes life a damn sight easier without having to have leads for everything ... you'll just have a plate plugged into the mains at home or work and all you'll do is just place the item on top and hey presto it will charge up
  7. Porsche only owns 50% of VAG at the moment, however they are slowing buying more and more of it and for those of you who didn't know RS models or Audi are normally Porsche developed engines whereas the S models are Audi developed You have to remember there aren't that many car companies in the world these days ... could be even fewer soon
  8. NSX is a supercar ... one of the Few (if not only) supercars from the Far East Ford GT is a sports car ... original GT40 is a race car (of course) Veyron is a Supercar or a Hypercar or a H A L O (letters spaced because of some stupid shooter game) car depending upon choice I wouldn't personally say a Veyron is practical ... couldn't imagine popping to the supermarket in it to do my weekly shop. Veyron isn't a GT as it's the wrong shape/layout ... a GT would typically be a 2+2 (sometimes just a 2) with front engine, rear wheel drive and a boot big enough for some luggage for you and your companion to go Touring ... hence the name Grand Tourer
  9. yes the missing blade wasn't missing if you know what I mean
  10. The whole situation is very worrying ... especially when the UN gets ignored I'll leave it as that for my thoughts on the matter
  11. I think you'll find it's most probably failure of the blade at the root or it's attachment to the hub and then as this was 'falling off' it was struck by the next blade round, which put the bend into it if you go on youtube and search for wind turbine failure there is a great video of what happens if the speed limiter fails this one tho wasn't that type of failure ... just a normal blade failure in my opinion
  12. Well the Beetle was designed by Ferdinand Porsche and the Porsche 356 was designed by his son ... also called Ferdinand ... and that got replaced by the 911 ... and if you look at the side profiles of all 3 you can spot the evolution ... you have to use an original 911 though Hence a 911 is a Beetle
  13. No No No ... a supercar shouldn't be practical and doesn't have to be reliable As me and Diablo were chatting last night ... a Supercar (and hypercar) was the car you had a poster of on your bedroom wall when you were a kid ... for my era it was the Countach and F40 ... and yes I am aware that for some of you kids that'll mean you think an R34 GT-R is a supercar ... but it's not a supercar is a dream car OF IT'S TIME (the most important part there as someone earlier mentioned that a car is a supercar if it can out perform a supercar ... which is blantantly rediculous if you consider how many cars could get round a track quicker than a Miura) ... it should be about style, performance, handling and engineering ... to varying degrees ... comfort, practicality and reliability shouldn't come into it anywhere ... an F40 is none of those but all of the previous
  14. OK ... time for me !!!!! Well you all will know my thoughts (along the same lines as Diablo/Custard) that the term is now over used by journalists and that most 'supercars' are 'sportscars' or 'grand tourers' ... so I won't rant here (as I've already done that this morning in another thread) the greatest supercar in my opinion is a McLaren F1 ... but a 2 cars come a close second ... Miura and F40 ... for equally obvious reasons As to the comment about the Ferrari F60 and the Ferrari Enzo Ferrari ... yes the Enzo Ferrari is 'sort of' the F60 if you mean the car to celebrate 60 years ... although it didn't get launched 10 years after the F50
  15. OK I think you mean Classic ... Vintage is defined as 1919 to 1930 And the Merceded Gullwing and 300SL are one and the same car As to what is the First Supercar ... the use of the word has been popular since it was used on the Lamborghini Miura ... however a Merc 300SL would be classified as a Supercar which was produced before the Miura As to Classic supercars ... depends on how Classic you want?
  16. OK here comes trouble ... [rant] right first of all ... I for one believe the GT-R could beat a Porsche round the ring ... if you know the ring (even on a computer game) you'll know it's as much about twists and turns and bumps as it is about straights and because it's so varied that's why the companies like to use it for serious performance and handling development of some of their cars. As to why I think the GT-R beats the Porsche ... because of the simple facts that because of the engineering in the car it can deliver the power more efficiently and more of the time and that the GT-R must have (I don't know for sure) a better weight balance than the Porsche which has it's engine in the wrong position! Now to another point ... so how is a GT-R a jumped up family car? ... OK the older Skyline GT-Rs were ... but really since the R33 they have been as much a family car as any 911 ... have you seen how much room is in the rear of the new GT-R? [/rant]
  17. Yes the climate is THAT bad I could name lots of vehicle programmes for lots of car companies that have either been canned or have be 'delayed' (read work has stopped and hopefully will restart at some point) ... but obviously I can't mention what they are
  18. yeah 3 of my friends got made redundant from the consultancy they work for yesterday ... not good times
  19. Didn't you forget a car there ? ... Hans ? As to my 'drive' (I only have a parking space as i live in a flat) ... 185 BHP
  20. Not going to happen in todays financial climate
  21. OK so what's the difference between a Hoon and a Boy Racer? The fountain of bad knowledge known as Wiki says ... " Hoon is a derogatory term used in Australia and New Zealand to refer to a person who engages in loutish, anti-social behaviour. In particular, it is used to refer to one who drives in a manner which is anti-social by the standards of contemporary society, that is, fast, noisily or dangerously. Hoon activities can include speeding, street racing, burnouts, doughnuts or screeching brakes.[1] Those commonly identified as being involved in "hooning" or street racing are young, predominantly male drivers in the age range of 16 and 25 years.[2] " Sounds like a Hoon is a Boy Racer to me Fastest I've personally Driven 125mph ... fastest I've been driven 160mph ... all on public roads ... but NOT in the UK
  22. Well this is what Santa brought me ... Fallout 3 (360 of course) The Dark Knight (on DVD) MoS Anthems II Digital Photo Frame 4 minature whiskeys Swiss chocs cola bottles (yes I know how old I am!) 4 new shirts (of the t-shirt / polo variety) lots of new socks and a voucher for a well known department store
  23. Well even with the R8 (which I don't think really competes with the Gallardo), I think VAG (Audi) leaves Lambo to do pretty much what it likes ... of course within a certain budget ... VAG seem to do a pretty good job in terms of remembering that certain brands of theirs have certain reputations to keep
