  1. "Emense"? I thought it was pronounced immense? Anyway nice idea Grin. If it was a free model then it's nicely done!
  2. Oh crap, sorry. I never meant to quote his image.
  3. Please try and explain otherwise I don't know what your talking about. :p Nice try. Don't like the rear lights having that stupid grey bit on them but you have reduced the glare etc.. to a good extent imo. [mod edit:] Please do not quote images, thanks!
  4. What exactly does this mod have that the normal Elise doesn't have except from no smoke and a different sound? It looks to me that you have done nothing and are asking for help with these things to make a mod?
  5. Just use smart sharpen and noise reduction and your photo's should be as sharp as mine. ;) Yeah now that I look again it is too bright but I can't really tone down any bright areas without ruining the look of the image. Just reflection of the sun I guess.
  6. Fair enough. I think I know which image you are on about but I must say, I like them both. :p Anyway moving on. ;) --------------------------- Here is the next photo I will be posting. It's a Porsche 997 Carrera Targa and I tried a panning shot of it as it passed me when I was in Edinburgh last year, so another shot from Edinburgh. :p Just going to post up a normal colour version but you can let me know if you would like to see it in B&W or whatever but I do think it works well in colour. #8 - Porsche 997 Targa
  7. Woah! I'm eagerly awaiting this for sure. I have been in one before, my friend sold his, and it was a really nice car to sit in. The one he had, had a sunroof which was pretty cool but yeah this should be nice to have in the game. :D
  8. Davey, as I always say, don't take it out on yourself. I know you have equipment which you are not happy with but you just have to make do with it. I mean, I would love something like a 70-200 F4 but I can only dream of that at the moment as I have no money and no job. My 17-85 is not the best but I try my best with it and try to use it to the best of my ability which I don't think is happening just yet. I do a lot of post processing in my shots so maybe thats why you think they are good? Just try using smart sharpen, adjusting the curves, using contrast, adjusting the highlights and shadows and all these things. I assure you if you do it will make a difference. Also theres a couple of plugins for photoshop you can use for reducing noise and grain and I must say they are very effective. So don't diss yourself all the time, seriously that is a great shot and nevermind about the grain, it's not really that noticeable now that I look again. ;) And Mb, I also don't count that car as normal, sorry.
  9. I'm gonna enter this week! My friend was over earlier this week with his new car and thought I would take some photos of it. It is nothing special, a 1.2 fiesta with some slight modifications including an ST front, ST rear arches and aftermarket wheels. This was how he bought the car so he hasn't added anything on or whatever. Anyway, is it ok to enter into this? It is a Fiesta which is an everyday car and theres nothing really special about it. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t270/TheScottishSpotter/Fiestaphotw1.jpg
  10. Not bad Davey, not bad! Would that be your first panning shot and what was that guy thinking when you took the photo? "I'm not in an exotic car so why the hell is he taking a picture? Crazy foo!". :D But yeah nice shot if it is your first. Maybe try and lose the grain? It's a bit distracting from the car imo. You can see it on the bottom half of the car.
  11. I'm sorry but I have to +rep you for this. Made me laugh! :D
  12. Click backlinks and they should be there and then the underlined hyperlinked text. Hope that helps!
  13. I think you might be right. Well check and adjust it if needed. ;) It's amazing what you pick up on and notice when people tell you about these things. Seriously I wouldn't have noticed half of these things if nobody had told me. Again thanks for the crits and comments! ;)
  14. As said as an edit in the first post I do agree that the B&W doesn't work. Not really much interest there whereas in the colour version the vibrant colours do stand out and make it an interesting composition. I have to admit, I didn't think it was too "imposing" st first, but after looking a second time I think I agree. I could always clone it out or something although not sure if it would work as well. I could also crop it but I feel I would lose the subject in the picture, not sure why though. It's actually not a headland, I think it's one of the sand dunes although would have to double check on that. Thanks for the comments though guys, much appreciated! ;)
  15. Thanks spoon. Yeah I occassionally travel to Edinburgh by bus and go there for a day to have a walk and take some pictures, both of buildings etc.. and of course cars. ;) Now that I look at it again, I agree with the cars behind the Bentley and that they are distracting. I did think about cloning them out but it's not really possible with the situation they are in and if it was possible it would either be really messy or it would be very difficult to do. The photo was actually taken with my other, older camera, the Canon Powershot S3 IS, hence the camera icon present on my logo. Not a DSLR so not as easy to get a photo like this I will admit, I did blur the background slightly to make the car pop out more so the F number will probably have changed in the EXIF data. I also radial blurred the wheels just a touch to make the car look like it was travelling slightly faster than it I captured it, although the car was going quite fast in the first place, you couldn't see it very well and I thought it deserved a slight blur. As for the Bentley emblem on the wheels, that was actually stationary in the first place with the original shot, so nothing has changed there. I did add some contrast and adjusted the curves and all the usual stuff to it also and overall, I am very pleased with the outcome! ------------------------------------ Heres one I took on Sunday when me and my dad went out for a trip in the car up towards Montrose. We stopped off at various places including 'Lunan Bay' which was where this next shot was taken. Was an amazing day, the sun was shining and overall, was fantastic weather for taking photograph's! I was looking around and saw this great spot of the sea and the beach right infront of me so I played around with different compositions and managed to get something. I then edited it in photoshop and got both a colour version and a black and white version. I was thinking, maybe the sea is a little turquoise and looks like this was taken somewhere tropical but it's not too in your face although if anybody does find it distracting I can always make another version with the sea not as turquoisey! #6 - Lunan Bay, located south of Montrose on the east coast of Scotland http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t270/TheScottishSpotter/LunanBaySmall12.jpg #7 - Lunan Bay *B&W* http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t270/TheScottishSpotter/LunanBaySmall4.jpg Comments and crits welcome. Imo I prefer the colour version as the black and white one doesn't really do much for me but I decided to post it up anyway to see if anybody preferred it!
  16. Yeah it was, just for taking photos! :D And thanks for the comment Mark. ;)
  17. Thanks! Right next image. ;) #5 - Bentley Continental GT at the roundabout on George Street in Edinburgh http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t270/TheScottishSpotter/BentleyContinentalGTBlack2small.jpg As always comments and crits welcome. I tried to make a decent composition without losing too much of the background on this one. If I had cropped it more it would have looked bad.
  18. I have to say, it looks awful as these type of cars are never meant to be turned into ricers like this but I suppose you have done a good job applying the bodykit to the car.
  19. Really?! I thought you did shoot in raw. I always do as it makes so much difference and doesn't give the annoying after effects which jpeg sometimes does.
  20. Happy Birthday Lewis! Have fun and do whatever you wanna do. ;)
  21. Thanks a lot for the comments guys. ;) ----------------------------------- Right, I have done a selective colouring version of the LP640 photo. I think it looks much better with both photos combined. What do you lot think? #4 - Lamborghini LP640 parked in George Street in Edinburgh http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t270/TheScottishSpotter/LP640SmallSelective.jpg
  22. Again thanks for the crits Car Freak, much appreciated! As for your comment about the B&W shot, yeah I do see where you're coming from. I can easilly add vignetting and I also agree about the warm white which can be seen with the normal image. As for the "sale" bit, I actually thought that was quite a nice thing for the photo although i'm thinking about doing a selective coloured version so the car is normal but the background is B&W so that it is not too distracting for the image. And as for seeing the car, does it make you feel better than the guy was extremely friendly and even stopped by me? He saw that I was taking pictures, and asked me if I wanted him to stop so I could take some more and would I like to see the inside and the engine etc.. to which I replied "Yeah that would be great, thanks". I probably even had a potential ride but didn't ask him because he seemed to be not in the mood for sticking around too long and I didn't want spoil the moment. ;)
  23. Right here we go with the next photos. ;) I've done two versions of this LP640 shot as I can't decide which one I prefer so will let you choose. Again, comments and crits welcome. ;) #2 - Lamborghini LP640 spotted on George Street in Edinburgh http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t270/TheScottishSpotter/LamborghiniLP640Whitev1small1.jpg #3 - Lamborghini LP640 spotted on George Street in Edinburgh (B&W Version) http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t270/TheScottishSpotter/LamborghiniLP640WhiteDesatv1small1.jpg
