  1. Some nice pictures in your new update, especially the first one, although it a bit too closely cropped for my liking. ;)
  2. RuthlessViper. Same as my XBL ;)
  3. Haha I knew about this a while back. Was playing around yesterday and tryed making an F50 Limousine! :D Forgot to save the pic although I will try again. :p
  4. But then you will more than probably get a bunch of people moaning that it's not finished and they will start moaning about the problems etc... Maybe not such a good idea.
  5. Welcome to the forum Zikco. Sounds like you will fit in just fine here ;)
  6. Voted Andreaz. The clouds make it for me I think. Mb was a close second but I really don't like the "unbalanced" feel of the composition. :( You can't plead with people to make them vote for you. If your picture is not interesting or has a special feel to it then the likelihood of people not voting is high.
  7. Sounds like a great idea. Count me in ;)
  8. Not amazingly funny but some parts did make me smile a little. "Looks like he has no intention of stopping"
  9. Hello. Just thought I would drop by as I haven't said anything before ;)

  10. Okay. I have ordered the above and it should be here by Tuesday, can't wait! :D Thanks for the help guys. ;)
  11. I would avoid WD as their customer support is non-existant so if anything does go wrong with it then your pretty much screwed. Btw, why do you want Vista 64 and not 32? 64 is meant to be worse or maybe I have heard wrong?
  12. Right, i'm nearly ready to order as i'm going to do it tonight or tomorrow. I will put a list of what i'm going to order and if there is anything that could be better then feel free to let me know! The current list stands as : 1 x 620w Corsair HX Series Modular SLR Power Supply Unit 1 x 4GB Corsair (2x2GB) TwinX XMS2 DDR2 800mhz 1 x Intel Core 2 Quad 9550 S775 2.83 GHz 1 x Asus P5N72-T Premium 780i 1 x Asus Triton 78 Gaming CPU Cooler http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t270/TheScottishSpotter/ScanBasket2-1.png Larger --> http://s162.photobucket.com/albums/t270/TheScottishSpotter/?action=view&current=ScanBasket1.png
  13. I'm annoyed that I can't run GTA IV at all without lag so I think it's time to upgrade. Honestly my processor really sucks even with games like Far Cry at times ;)
  14. Voted for Highline. Great job mate ;)
  15. Right I have updated post 17 and the first post with images ;)
  16. Yeah, hold on. I only have paint on my computer and can't be bothered to install photoshop so i'll do a small pic and a link to a bigger one so you can both see it and it complies with the rules.
  17. Been on Scan and have come up with this. What do you guys think? http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t270/TheScottishSpotter/Scan3.png Bigger image --> http://s162.photobucket.com/albums/t270/TheScottishSpotter/?action=view&current=Scan4.png (click to enlarge)
  18. Thanks for the suggestions. I'm still deciding about the RAM but that does look pretty good. I think i'm set with an Intel processor and would rather not venture to AMD :p. Ah ok. Thanks for the heads-up. What would I have to do so that it doesn't mess around with the air flow in my case and not heat it up instead of cooling it down? I will be doing some sort of SLI at some point so I want a board which has it so that I can make use of it ;) The P5Q and P5Q-E only support CrossfireX afaik and not SLI, right? I will be doing multitasking as I usually end up doing it anyway so I would probably need the extra processor power. Thanks for the suggestion though! ;)
  19. The memory you suggested looks good. Might buy one of those instead of the Corsair and thanks for the site link. Haven't really looked on there before ;) As for the motherboard. I think it's a bit expensive and I think I have my heart set on a 9550 and not a Q6600. Thanks for the suggestions though! Thanks for the topic link Nodz. Will look at it. As for my case, at the moment I have a Thermaltake Shark and i'm sure it should be pretty good for cooling. I'm having a look at heatsink fans also and I found this. Would it do the job do you think for my processor? Although I think your cooler may be better and I think it's this one right? *link*
  20. I will admit. It is making me jealous :D
  21. Thanks for the input Nodz. Yeah the Q9550 is probably the best Quad at the moment apart from the extremes and I think the 9650 is a money pit unless you have the extra cash. I am thinking about overlocking the processor in the BIOS (Will have to find out how though) and I should be able to get something like 3.5 instead of 2.83. I have been looking at Asus boards as they are the best (apparently) and there was one I was looking at earlier today but it has Crossfire and thats ATI and yeah I have a Nvidia card and probably sticking with them so it would be pointless. But you think thats a good one to go for, yeah? What RAM came with your cooler? I'm not really very experienced when it comes to RAM but I have some sort of DDR2 at the moment but I think it would be cheaper to just get 4GB then I have more than enough and the 2GB is only £10 cheaper anyway on that site. I was recommended the Corsair as we had a computer guy down at the house yesterday to fix my computer as the internet wouldn't go on and such and as soon as he had a look inside my case he noticed the non-branded power-supply and said it may be hazardous as I am already on my second within the space of a year. Of course the dust from getting the house done etc... didn't help but it could also have been not very good. So he recommended me the Corsair as (even though it's expensive) it will probably do me for a while and should end up cheaper in the long run. I was also thinking about a Heatsink Fan for the processor when it's overclocked as it will be pretty damn hot even with the case I have. Also I will probably get someone to fit the components etc.. as I really don't trust myself and I have heard how easy it is to mess up unless I get some serious advice! :cheeky: Also I don't think my dad trusts me either as he will probably be the one paying for it. As for your querie as to "do I need other things", no as I think i'm good with the harddrives and the case and graphics card and it was really only the processor I needed to update as GTA IV was simply unplayable with my Dual Core Pentium 4 which believe it or not still lagged on the lowest settings on 800X600 resolution. And of course then you have to upgrade your motherboard and PSU and then it starts getting expensive... :p Sorry this is such a long reply but I think I have answered all your questions etc.. now and you may have a better idea of what i'm after ;) At the moment I am, yes. Although this will probably be the next thing i'll upgrade and will probably be going for a BFG GTX 280 next year when the next wave of graphics cards come out and it will probably come down about £100 and it will be cheaper then and I may have a job by that time :p
  22. .....well components :cheeky: . Just thought I would do a topic here to see if anyone can give me any suggestions. Basically it's time to upgrade my computer again. I'm keeping my graphics card but I am changing the processor, motherboard, cpu. an additional heatsink fan and possibly the RAM. Looking to spend something around the range of £500 or a bit over. I have my sight set on an Intel Quad Core Q9550 as it's the one I want and from Novatech as it's around the cheapest I have seen on the net. I'm not sure about the motherboard but possibly going for an Asus which is something like this -> *link* due to I will probably stick with Nvidia and it's not a bad price either as I can find it much cheaper here --> *link* Apparently I also need a new PSU as the one I have just now may be a bit dodgy as it's a no-namer. I was told to go with one such as a Corsair 620W? Also not sure about the RAM but this does seem pretty good --> *link* If you guys can find anything better I am open to suggestions also so comments and crits welcome! I may be going for this : http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t270/TheScottishSpotter/Scan3.png Bigger image --> http://s162.photobucket.com/albums/t270/TheScottishSpotter/?action=view&current=Scan4.png (click to enlarge)
  23. Some more nice shots. Although not meaning to burst your bubble but I think this topic has been dragged out too much... ;)
  24. Friends at my school took the day off to see this. Apparently two people had to go for First Aid as well :p. Really not my kind of band as I hate heavy metal but I did go to see The Stereophonics last Wednesday at the SECC and it was amazing apart from all the beer which was thrown over the crowd repeatedly every 5 minutes :D
  25. Right. I made the decision to make a topic about this :p Basically I have been having problems on day 1 with GTA IV on the PC. "1) It came a day late. 2) Automatic activation never worked so spent 10 minutes writing out the codes. 3) That finally worked then I couldn't log into the social club. 4) I then was able to log in but then I tried starting the game and got Error "RMN40". 5) I then googled that and found out it was because I never had Service Pack 3 for my XP. 6) So I went and downloaded Service Pack 3. But I was stupid at first as I had all sorts of programs running in the background which slowed the install down and after a while it crashed on me. I spent 3 hours looking at the screen to see if it would move (as instructed by people on Teamspeak) but then I had had enough so I went and pressed the reset button after a 10 second countdown from S71NG3R . It then willfully rolled back to Service Pack 2 and after about half an hour I was back to Service Pack 2 and was my PC was fully functional. 7) I then eagerly tried reinstalling Service Pack 3 last night with nothing running and went and watched a DVD. I left the PC on until the morning and it didn't install properly. So now i'm right back to Service Pack 2. And I have no idea what I should do? I do get errors with C++ Runtime every now and again so maybe it's best to reformat my PC and back everything up and reinstall windows?" Basically I have done what I have said above. I have gone and formatted my harddrive and have installed Windows XP. Of course I thought I would have had the Product Key for it but I didn't which screwed me over so much. I spent the entire day phoning people and using the laptop to search for ways to try to find out ways I could get it back, with no avail. I did however find something which showed you how to find your CD Key on your disc in some hard-to-find notepad document. I then thought I had found my product key but went to use it on my Windows XP installation but of course that never worked as it was the one Microsoft put on the disc as a reference so then my hopes had dropped about it. I then had one last look on the internet and remembered I had two harddrives and one still had XP installed on it so I went and downloaded a program and used it to retrieve my product key from my registry which in the end was the right key so I was relieved about that. I finished installing XP about 3am in the morning and now I have the problem with configuring my router to access the internet! So now my dad has phoned up some computer company to try to get someone to come down and help with the problem. The last time my dad did this because we had no idea how to configure the router to get on the internet and some professional did it for us. It is gonna cost a lot of money though and my dad has said that this is the last time he is gonna pay for it. I would really like to know how to do it myself without having this hassle again because if I do get Windows Vista which I may get soon then I am gonna have to do this all over again and then have to pay for it again which I don't want to do! So I was wondering if any of you lot had any suggestions? My router is a Buffalo WBMR G54. I currently have a wireless internet connection from it to the laptop but the newly formatted computer will not recognise the router and therefore will not allow me access to the internet. Although the internet still works on my other harddrive for some reason. I have unplugged my router and replugged it back in etc.. to no avail. I also can't access the configuration page for it as when I type in the IP for it still says it can't access the internet and I think you need a connection for this? My whole weekend has basically been spent problem solving trying to reinstall Windows just to play GTA IV which really seems a lot of hassle if you think about it, so if anybody has been in a similar situation then you will know how I feel. :( So yeah I am at the end of my tether atm about this and would be greatful for some advice or something if anyone can help and it would be much appreciated. ;)
