Rollin in an STi

yeah, the Demo makes it tough to do that kind of thing, becuase how the cars are tuned for these Super Speedway tracks, its real tough cuz their really tuned for speed (190mph drafting around Daytona. 220+ if the 'restrictor plate' was never created) if the demo had more than just Daytona, it'll probably be easier. im sure it'll be fun to drift around Watkins Glen or Infineon

it needs getting used to. fired it up last night, created a few cars, and started working on getting the "Driver's liscence's" to be able to race in 'The Chase' Mode. i need to figure out where to set the steering sensitivity, cuz im all over the track and cant get a clean lap. what i dont like about the Create a Car mode, they took away the ability to use numbers below 100. (in NASCAR 2005 on the PS2, you were able to use the numbers below 100 that werent used in that race series) that, and in NASCAR, i think there is a rule that you cant run a car with three digits. i remember one year when Darrel Waltrip was still driving, had a paint scheme to honor a certain driver from the early NASCAR days (the paint scheme included the number 300) but he had to run his regular number for that race, cuz of that rule.

your basically just referring to Talladega and Daytona. the 'Super Speedway' tracks do not need to the brakes much @ all. but all the other tracks, its nessecary. and NASCAR is the only series i have watched where there are more then 40 racecars on a track @ a time. not sure about the American LeMans Series, but starting in 43rd, and trying to work your way to first is something i like to do. i love the sport, but the only downpoint i've had with the NASCAR games is the monotone sound the engines make in-game. its like a constant roar that does put me to sleep. once i edjust the engine volume in the settings, i can play the nascar games for hours. (even on long family trips, the sound of the road under the car and the quiet hum of the engine puts me to sleep.)

i dont quite understand how the DEMO came out the same day as the game..... im just going out today to buy the game anyways w/o D/L'ing an unnessesary Demo

well, i know here in the States, or here in Connecticut in perticular... You can get a driving Permit @ age 16. BUT, you are only allowed to drive with an adult or parental figure with you @ all times. when you get your permit, you must wait at least 6 months to b4 going for the drivers' liscence test. but b4 you do, you need to have had training behind the wheel, wether it be through classes, or the Adult/Partn teaching you. EDIT: almost forgot. if you dont go for a Driver's Permit, you have to be 18 to take the test. i took my 'Permit' test through my High school, and was able to schedule driving lessions through the program. going through the program, let my permit mature after only 4 months, instead of the normal 6. so i was happy about taking the classes (though they were after school, and felt like detention. lol, man i hated school) when i got my Driver's Liscence, i hadnt even turned 17 yet. :D i passed my test with flying colors. (the test consists of a 16 question, multiple choice quiz, before the driving part of the test. you dont have to answer all 16, just as long as you got 12 right, you passed. most of them were common sense, but it was better to study anyways. :) ) i believe the Connecticut drivers liscence, you get 10 'points' b4 you loose it. each infraction varies on the severity of the offense. i.e.: when a school bus is stopped picking up children (and the Flashing STOP sign is on) i think thats an 8 point offense, if i remember my study material right. speeding is 3 or 4 points depending on how fast your going over the limit. running a red light, or not stoping @ a stop sign i think isnt as bad as speeding or the school bus thing. i almost lost my liscence last year. lol. my first speeding ticket (November of 2003) was for going ALMOST double the posted limit. 69mph in a 35 zone. man was i lucky to not have been doing 70, or else i wouldve been 'cuff'ed. lol. but later that month i got a letter from the State saying that one more offense and i wouldve had to take defensive driving classses. .....and i got caught speeding last year. 70mph in a 50. neadless to say i was speeding, but did not see a speed limit sign posted. and all the state troopers were out that friday because it was the weekend before Easter. (i still cant understand how a 2-lane highway is 65mph, and when TWO 2-lane highways merge to form a 4-lane, the Speed limit drops to 50mph) but i had to take the defensive driving classes, and i havent lost my liscence. so i can still drive thankfully. i wouldnt know what to do if i couldnt. i LOVE to drive. (look how many miles i put into TDU. LMAO) ...im also happy to find out last time i looked @ my car insurance policy, that the first speeding ticket i got is now off my record. so im glad. my premium is going to go down once it renews

here's my latest desktop. my last one in this thread was b4 my opinions of the new '08 WRX's changed. i was a big fan of the 1st Starcraft. when i heard about the New one coming out soon, i went and got the wallpaper for it in anticipation

and i read a couple comments on that thread, and ppl who dont like the backward decals must not be into/know about drift cars. a majority of them have the decals and such backwards on the right side of the car. it looks good. but add a few little decals, and it should be good, IMO

kinda makes me feel good i live in Connecticut *sarcasm* Connecticut is like the second highest state for income taxes and such if i remember right. and i heard the Sales Tax is going up later this year, or next. so, im going to be looking @ a 7% Sales tax, compared to 6%. $59.99 for an Xbox360/PS3 game + 6%ST = $63.58 $59.99 for an Xbox360/PS3 game + 7%ST = $64.18 man, there goes an extra 60cents for every game. at least your lucky to have low sales taxes in florida (i hope they're lower there than here)

i agree Nipper. the Evo's are power by an Inline-four, which gives it its run-of-the-mill 'Japan Import' sound. and seeing its an inline-four, i think its easier for "bolt-on" parts to get tons of hp (a friend on XBL raced an evo 8 MR w/ 800hp) the WRX's/STi's are powered by the Horizontially opposed 4 cylinder engine. this is what i think gives off that "throaty" sound (thats what i call it) i sounds ALOT better than Mistu, IMO. w/ just an exhaust upgrade, you can definitely hear when a WRX/STi is coming. :) as, ive seen a bunch round here, and its a noise ive grown to love. lol i couldnt pick out an EVO going by from a Riced out Civic. :D

and i do not understand how poeple are so into trying to get a Fast & Furious themed car. those movies sucked. there are too many kids driving around nowadays who are driving Evo's, and such, who think their in that kinda scene. in a way, its a good thing the STi's never made a solid appearance in the movies. the only ONE time i spotted an STi was in 'Tokyo Dirft', when they were in the parking garage @ the begining. i saw the tail-end of a '04-'05 STi, with the hood up.

i have to say i liked the whole Super Mario Brothers series. up to Super Mario 64, as i had the hardest time trying to get used to the 3D world. lol. i too like Final Fantasy. i've played and beat FFX more than i cant count, and TDU has been the only game thus far i have played longer than FFX. (FFX - 390+ hours. TDU - over 450) i have X-2, havent beaten it. and i have XII, and only got 2.5 hours in, and gave up. LMAO. im waiting to see how XIII is. come on 2008. :D i USED to like the NASCAR series, but the last three or four titles sucked. the last good game might be NASACR 2005: Chase for the Cup (which i have for the PS2) and ive read that not much at all has changed since. except maybe team chatter. and i saw screenshots from NASCAR 07, and EA is turning NASCAR into another NFS with the Arcadic-like streaks in the air around the car, and the blur-effects. is NASCAR 08 is anything like 07, i will not put it on my list. (i'll maybe just rent it first)

dude! you g2 let me know when your done. i love Ghost in the Shell. i gonna start saving my money NOW! lol. (i had 800,000+ CR after completing all the 'Regional Championships' challenges, and now doen to just over 200,000 CR) ive seen only two other Ghost in the Shell cars so far on the AH. one, with just the 'Laughing Man' logo on the car. and the other had the Major on it, along with the Laughing Man logo within the paint scheme. it was a shame i didnt have the cash to buy either of them >.<

CptDrkNuggets, it looks great, but may i suggest one thing? not to put it on a Fairlady Z? last time i went to look for a specific paint scheme (was looking for a 'BLEACH' themed Z) looking through the whole list was tough. 'Cuz #250 had 28 minutes remaining. i had to wait 5 - 10 minutes for the one i wanted to bid on showed up (someone posted over on ForzaCentral they were selling it. and Bleach is an ANIME [not Hentai] show on Adult Swim. i was trying to win it to add to my Bleach collection)

your DBR9 looks better than what i tried. :) although i just threw some vinyls on, it looks decent (havent gotten to do the major detailing. just the color)

hey Nipper, would my R34 Nur work? ... ... ... it has the R390 powertrain under it, which makes it RWD instead of AWD. i'll just have to see what i have to do to it as its an S-class car right now, but im more than positive its got too much power. i might work on it tonight when i get home from work, and start practicing with that if the R34 Nur would be ok to use seeing its got the R390 RWD engine swap

+1 the AE86 was made in the 80's or so. back then, cars were made in a boxy sorta way IMO. being as it is also a RWD stock, its a great drifter in stock trim as its real light as well. when i ever get a chance to watch any drift comp's on TV, there are alot fo AE86's b'cuz they are probably the easiest car to drift, with little modification, i think. so Baxie, how can you say the AE86 is an ugly car? looks can decieve (sp?)

i bought the DB9 tonight b4 signing off the 360, and tuned it up to an A850. im going to try and paint the upper grille either that bright green, or the red like the one in the Background. if i get it right, i take pics, and post them up

once im done w/ FM2 (collecting all 1,000 achievements points) i might think about DiRT

if your pushing the time up a couple hours, then what time is it? so i know what time in the morning here in EST-time. i would like to join, but i have a question. my A850 STi has exactly 500hp, but if i tune it to where all the power is sent to 0%front/100%rear, would that be ok??? ive been practicing @ Tsukuba, and have gotten the hang of THAT track so far. g2 do more practicing though

those are good pics johansen. the first two pics, its the "ATTACK OF THE CLONES" lol. i was doing a lil drifting w/ UnknownSCAA, and saved the replay, so i'll have to sit down, watch the replay, and take good shot of me drifting my A850 STi (youve seen me use it b4 johansen, as well as Nipper)
