  1. The R172 looks much better with the roof up than the roof down, I think it's when the hardtop is lowered that the awkward proportions are more visible. http://www.twistedlifestyle.com/Images/2012-mercedes-benz-slk-class_100342890_l.jpg We don't have to 100% agree on this I guess :p
  2. I never said it was a clean sheet design, just that it looks like one a lot more than the previous C-Class Coupé :nods: The issue is that on the flip side, the new S-Class Coupé looks a lot more like the S-Class, whereas the old CL used to look quite unique in comparison to the rest of the range.
  3. I don't agree, I think the SLC will always be hindered by the fact it's never looked like a clean sheet design. It has awkward proportions with the two ends stuck on. The Boxster/Cayman's success is that its design has its own identity, it's been designed with less interference from other cars in the range. Even the Z4, with its kidney grills, still looks a lot better. Merc have done a good job in getting the new C-Class Coupé to look like a clean design, it looks like it was designed to be a coupe all along rather than a saloon that's had 2 doors cut out like the model it replaces did. It's a shame they didn't take this philosophy to the SLC. The SLK/SLC always seems like a bit of a bodge job, a bit of a quick 'put new headlights on, offer an engine we offer in a different model, add an extra LED into the taillight and call it 'BRAND NEW MODEL'. It's why I don't think i'd bother with it.
  4. That genuinely looks great, I was unsure about the weird mascara the headlights seem to have but it's grown on me since it was first unveiled. Issue is that they're just using the GT trim for all the press shoots at the moment, the past Megane GT-Trim never really sold that well, and the lesser trims looked god-awful most of the time, so I'm holding back proper judgement until I see some absolutely basic/stripper versions driven by OAPs on the road.
  5. I obviously meant Zoom Zoom but got sidetracked by Thierry Henry's french voice saying va va voom and now i'm all hot under the collar. :p
  6. It'd be great if Jag could make a £35-45k Coupé/Roadster too. Something which shares some of the madness of the F-Type, mainly the noise and the sexiness :p Not sure I'd even have the MX5 on my radar if I was looking at the SLC or Boxster tbh, not enough va-va-voom :p
  7. Hurrah. Jaguar has returned to motorsport :D It dropped out of Formula 1 in 2004 after 5 very unsuccessful years. And is now a manufacturer in Formula E :D It's partnering with Williams, which is quite exciting in itself. It will be replacing the Trulli team in the 2016/2017 Formula E Championship. As the series slowly becomes less 'spec' and more similar to a normal race series, it will much more entertaining to follow. Jag are saying they're getting involved in Formula E because they want it to help them with the creation of some EV's for their roadcar lineup, this is good as any further investment in JLR is always welcome (as long as the investment stays as much in the UK as possible) as the two companies continue to grow. Here's some pics to remind you of jag's heritage when it comes to motor racing :D
  8. Agreed, my money would almost definitely go to Porsche though, I absolutely adore their current lineup. What competition for the SLC did you have in mind though?
  9. Mr.Orlove from Jalopnik is most usually known for being extremely weird (very humorous because of this, it's his 'thing'), at times it can come across as tiring and taking away from the story being discussed, but I have new respect for the guy after reading this article, great automotive journalism and a really interesting read: The Mysterious, Disputed Birth Of Americas Greatest Supercar It's an article that tries to discover just how Saleen came about making the S7 and how it's a story covered in lies, secrets and mystery. It's not a short article but it's a very interesting read nonetheless. Quite cool that another of America's greatest supercars has a fair amount of british blood running through its veins, along with the AC Cobra and the Ford GT40 :D
  10. The bezel on that cheap Audio20 is absolutely god awful. That's the good thing about the W204 imo, the lower end sat navs don't look like you're a pleb in comparison to the higher end models haha. Rest of the interior looks lovely though, and though I might not love the new screen set ups, they're still an improvement over the stuck-on ipads. Here's the new SLK SLC: Images from Jalopnik - Drive Free or Die It's an improvement..... but still looks like the ugly duckling in the line-up tbh. The proportions are the same, with new stuck-on body parts from the other cars in the merc range. It's still an above-average looking car I guess, it's no 'megane CC', but if I had to choose between this and a boxster 718, there's no competition.
  11. Yah it will have been then, I lived in the area for the past year so I was around in April too. Yup, alongside that picture of you  Not just to penfold, you're on it too :cheeky: I have no shrine, let's get back on topic :p
  12. Yeah, I added it to my collection of other tduckers i've stalked and tracked down :oook: :toetap: That didn't happen :p
  13. Yah I'm 90% sure I walked past you in Monte Carlo sometime this year, can't remember when it was haha. Was tempted to say hi but didn't want to come across as a stalker :para:
  14. The additions in this DLC are enough to make me wanna plug the xbox back in.... Issue is it's for GTA: Online, and I don't want to play GTA online.
  15. N'aww, point blanc and snakehead bring back so many memories of 14yo me :D
  16. Not sure the Z3 is still on the forefront of most people's minds when comparing a car to something Scott, anyone that remembers the Z3 would most likely know what a Z8 is :p Been looking at Citroen SMs online because they're bae. Citroën SM For Sale (1973) on Car And Classic UK [C686966] I'm in love
  17. I love the Z8, but I'd much rather have it in the darker blue colour with the Alpina wheels. Though I do think that the example shown is quite a classic looking car. I love the jag, but the interior colour isn't for me.
  18. Same with me and the Bentley Bentayga :nods: I know it ain't prurdy, but oh lordy do I want one.
  19. I really like everything but the taillights (during the day, I think they'll look okay with the LED design at night).
  20. Hey :hello: I figured that the rather odd downfall of Mclaren in F1 deserved its own thread as it's something that will most likely continue to drag on until either they withdraw or they regain their footing at (or near) the top of the table. The latest development in this saga being that although Alonso is contracted to race next year, we might not actually be seeing him.... Fernando Alonso could take a sabbatical from Formula 1 next year, McLaren boss Ron Dennis says. A sabbatical? Jesus christ. I'm unsure how comfortable I'd be if I were an investor in Mclaren Motorsport right now.
  21. You're no longer a teen now, you'll have to start acting a bit more mature :cheeky:
  22. HELLO. It's me. I was wondering if after all these days (365) you'd like to post To make him feel special They say that birthday posts supposed to make ya feel good, but we ain't done much postin (yet) :birthday: Happy Birthday to Hassan :birthday: Here's your present: So hello from the other side (of that large hamilton image) I must've annoyed you a thousand times Here's me telling you I'm not sorry for everything that I've done and that i hope you have a great day :D Disclaimer #1: I might have been listening to Adele's new album when writing this post. Bye Felicia. Disclaimer #2: I was going to edit the text on that image to wish you a happy birthday but i literally couldn't be arsed, love ya tho xo Disclaimer #3: I genuinely haven't had any alcohol. Gonna make this a bit longer so it is the same size as the other disclaimers. k thx
  23. I think he just meant that the ignition thingy either would just be changed to the shape of the new key, or it would be keyless go, not that the current key isn't an odd shape. I think from the looks of it, it will be keyless go. *shrug*
