  1. A cookie to the first who guesses what this thread is for.* *Not really. Off to a bad start here - the cameraman was clearly sleeping on the job:
  2. Spectacular stuff! You compliment your awesome computer by actually taking really good photos as well!
  3. Brakes are important, but I find that cars with weaker brakes are more useful to slow cruise with. With the more sensitive ones you end up short of where you meant to stop, because the wheels locked without you noticing. :D I'm praying for the Ford GT. Its the only car which makes a sound I can stand for 40 odd miles. :P
  4. Many thanks, but could you make that my in-game name? It should clear up any confusion when the event takes place. I'm BeetrootShoes. Just a question about the course. I gave it a test run today and the GPS suggests that the shortest route from one lighthouse to another is to go right across the middle of the island. Will we be using this or the western coastal road? Also, is there a list of the cars we are allowed to drive somewhere? I saw it mentioned earlier in the thread that one was coming. Is that still in the works?
  5. Sorry I've been gone, but is there any chance I can get in on this? You've chosen what is effectively my favourite slow cruising route for your track. :D
  6. The lack of Dodge Chargers in this game makes me weep. After all, we all know that Jesus drives a Charger.
  7. Its gotta be Tokyo. There's just so much variation; its perfect for everyone.
  8. Head out east from the Northwest lighthouse and its the first right. Although, that's not saying much. There's about 8 miles with no junctions at all.
  9. Cheers! I'm particularly proud of this one actually. I love the sun filled valley in the distance and you can just see the rest of the road snaking up the ridge. :D PM sent, btw.
  10. Got a great pic of my new favourite pastime. If anyone feels like blasting up and down hills in Hardcore mode, then let me know. Its more fun with more people. :D
  11. As mentioned in the cruise thread, dibs on the Gullwing. :P
  12. Bugger, I missed it... Classics tomorrow, right? Dibs on the Gullwing.
  13. Heh, same here. :D There was nothing better than an idling V8 shaking the floor. Thank god for sub-woofers.
  14. I agree with you slightly on point 3, but the first two are hardly motivating. Whining about lack of intelligent conversation is hardly about to inspire more. With regard to the patch, wtf? The same version as the supposedly baaaaaad Alpha? How many people's computers crashed with the Alpha and how many crashed with the "official" version? I bet the lists are similar. Anyway, good and bad with the patch. - Audio balance is fixed, which is sad in some respects but useful in others. I loved shaking the whole house with the idling noise of my Daytona, but hated trying to listen to music when all I could hear was an overwhelming wave of bass. - However there are problems I never had before with audio now. I get stuttering where there was none, namely at high speed whilst accelerating. - I see more people in free-roam, which is nice. - However, staying together in a group whilst free-roaming seems harder. Connection instability galore. - The traffic is significantly less random when I'm the only one in the session. - However, synchronising traffic with other people still seems to be a problem. The amount of times in the past I've been hit head on by appearing cars.... Nothing too major though. I'll post a system spec when I'm sure of one.
  15. Nice stuff all! Here's a Skyline line up taken last week.
  16. Yes, I never understood why BST wasn't GMT. I'm sure there's a perfectly valid reason which I won't understand even if its explained clearly to me. Still, I now enter the longest 20 minutes of the year. :D
  17. Pardon my language, but ABOUT BLOODY TIME. That said, thank god. And at least they apologised for the lateness. :D
  18. If they do, I'll find some way of taking them to court.
  19. It was implied through your earlier post. I agree, close this thread. Its only going to degenerate further.
  20. Deadly serious, yes. The act of drifting requires no knowledge of prestigious drifters. It is still physically possible to drift without knowing who Keiichi Tsuchiya is. Now ban me for making a comeback.:banned:
  21. Quite apart from the pointless and predicted flaming, wtf? Sorry, but what now? I drifted for months before discovering who Keiichi was. Irrelevant. Stfu before you make yourself look dumber than I'm sure you actually are.
  22. People leave out vital pieces of information when they describe drifting. From what I understand drifting involves the rear wheels in constant motion and the front wheels steering opposite to the direction of travel. This is why the handbreak method is a bit iffy, because you're stopping the back wheels from spinning totally.
