  1. Personally I think you'd be better off with a new PC if you're not comfortable building your own. Upgrading off the shelf computers from the likes of HP, Dell and Lenovo doesn't tend to turn out too well.

The motherboard doesn't appear to support any CPUs in the last couple of years which could make finding one a it tricky and possibly expensive. Wouldn't recommend a used one. Case ventilation may also be an issue too as it looks to be quite small with no fans/vents on the front or side.

If you upgrade the GPU to something decent you will more than likely need a new PSU. Then the CPU will be a bottleneck so that will need to be upgraded which would mean a new motherboard and it goes on and on and on!

Sorry to be the bear of bad news. Others may say otherwise but imo they're wrong. :p

  2. There must be a lot of money in a car like that too. Something simple, rugged and dependable that they could make money on just from selling and not then rely on expensive aftersales repairs and servicing.

But we'll just have to wait and see what the JLR boardroom people come up with. £2 and 2 minutes for a replacement headlight bulb or £20 and an hour.

  3. Only been on it for 10 minutes all I can say is wow.

The movement feels great and the cover system is really well thought out and easy to use. The map doesn't look massive but it seems big enough to me so far considering you can only move about on foot. There is a a mention of another zone to the game that I can't see on the map so maybe it is bigger. The world feels full of life with plenty of NCPs pottering about or shouting at you.

The enemies do seem to be bullet sponges but it does feel well balanced at the expense of a bit of realism. You can take quite a big of damage yourself and I think the enemies are spongey because it's a game that you should be playing with other people rather than going lone wolf. If they died with a couple of shots it would be far too easy imo.

Can't wait for March when I can play it with friends!

  4. Downloading this the other night but haven't been on it yet. But from what I hear it's sounding pretty awesome so I'll try and go on it tonight or sometime tomorrow as it ends tomorrow. :( Still, not long to wait for the retail release in early March.

  5. Tis a sad day for the motoring industry in Britain. They have been the countries work horse for well over half a century.

I'm looking forward to seeing the replacement to the Defender but please make it look nicer than the concept that was revealed last year. Puh-leez!

  6. Well your GPU needs 28A and I personally like to have an extra 15-20 or so amps to supply power to everything else that runs on 12V. This includes fans with LEDs(can draw as much as 0.5A per LED fan) which soon adds up if you have 5 or 6, hard drives, motherboard and CPU.

To get from amps to watts you should multiply the amps by 12volts which is 576watts to be on the safe side. But make sure it's a known good brand.

USB shouldn't affect it as USB runs on 5V.

  7. I'll try and make at least some of the races this season! But sadly the times don't suit me very well anymore. Why is the world so big!!!!???

Won't be able to make the 2nd race for obvious reasons but I don't think I have anything planned next Saturday afternoon. Not yet anyway.

  8. Could well be the PSU. I know it's a silly name but they're pretty good iirc. How old is it?

Just had a look and the PSU supplies 37amps on the single 12v rail and the GPU requires *upto* 28. On top of most of the other components in the PSU. When gaming you've probably been stressing it quite a bit and then leaving it on for a long time might just have been too much.

Might be worth trying to see if you can borrow another working PSU and seeing if the PC works with that.
