  15. AH for God's sake, gimme a break! After that disscusion thread about tool's super mod list people realized that many of them didn't have any respect to the modders and because of that they changed.. TBH now, I didn't see members flaming modders, say negative things, requesting other cars etc.. these past mods. No offence but that reason that I quoted up there is just nonsense (what I like to call: "Cry babying"). But I do admit that theres always a pesky member to say something bad.. IGNORE HIM and consider the people who liked the mod! But if you think that, I can't change your opinion. If you want to stop modding then ok, good luck with your personal mods ;). Totally disagreed. TDU:C was as fun as it is now when car modders didn't exist, TDU:C is a great, fun, funny, cool forum because of it's members, it's threads and the Forum Mods. Sure Modders made it cooler but we don't totally rely on them for this forum's spirit! Most of the members that the modders attracted to TDU:C are those noobs that come here, download a mod, and never appear again.

  23. 50th Anniversary Hurst/Viper unveiled, to be auctioned for charity by John Neff on Jan 9th 2009 at 2:31PM Click above for high-res image gallery of the 50th Anniversary Hurst/Viper Legendary maker of all things used to shift, Hurst has taken some time out today to unveil the car that will mark its 50th year of building specialty performance vehicles under the banner of Hurst Performance. That car is the appropriately named the 50th Anniversary Hurst/Viper. Since adding more power to the Viper's 600-hp 8.4L V10 engine is akin to putting Yao Ming in heels, Hurst instead focused mostly on the aesthetics. The Hurst/Viper, of which only 50 will be made, comes only in two color combos that commemorate the official colors of the company: Black with Gold stripes or White with Gold Stripes. Of course, it wouldn't be a Hurst car without a Hurst shifter, so these special Vipers will be fitted with the company's new HARD-DRIVE gold anodized pistol grip shifter. Also from the company catalogue are Hurst 19- and 20-inch polished aluminum wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires. The interior is shrink wrapped in Katzkin charcoal leather that's embroidered with the Hurst logo and touched off with gold stitching and perforated leather inserts. It's hard to modify a car of the Viper's caliber and not play with the performance a little, so Hurst did add a Corsa exhaust and Moton Club Sport adjustable coil-over suspension to make it that much more special than stock. The first of 50 examples will be auctioned off next week at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction in Arizona with all proceeds being donated to Victory Junction, which runs a camping facility for chronically ill children. 24. Tuner creates 1000-horsepower Porsche 911... with bolt-ons. by Drew Phillips on Jan 9th, 2009 at 8:32PM Click above for a high-res gallery of the SPI Sledgehammer Most stock components in a production car can only be pushed so far. Keep adding horsepower and torque, and eventually...well, something is going to break. Some people, however, are all about exploring the limits. Take Tym Switzer, for example. His tuning company, Switzer Performance Innovation of Oberlin, Ohio has come up with a bolt-on tuning package for the Porsche 997 911 Turbo that offers Bugatti Veyron aping performance. So, how much power can the stock internals in Stuttgart's 3.8-liter flat-6 take? Apparently, quite a lot. The shop has recorded 850 horsepower and 727 lb-ft of torque on the rolling dyno, equating to over 1000 horsepower at the crank. Real world performance should be mind boggling, with the car reportedly reaching 60 miles-per-hour in the mid two second range, blowing through the 1/4 mile in just 9.79 seconds at 146 mph. Pricing looks to be just as fierce, with the Sledgehammer package retailing for $49,990. While that's a lot of coin for a suite of bolt-ons, the performance would appear to speak for itself. Videos of both the dyno run and the 1/4 mile pass can be viewed after the jump as well as SPI's official press release. Gallery: SPI SLEDGEHAMMER [source: Switzer Performance Innovation]
