It's an engine connected to the turbo, it really does produce some anount of power. If you go onto the RCM site you can go through a 200 image page with the build progress, it is fascinationg (If you are into that sort of thing.) -

Certainly is some machine isnt it :) -
The old Mid-engined Ferraris used to go up in flames due to the closeness of the fuel tank to the engine (in mid-engined models) - dosent explain why the 599 went up though as it is front engined.
-
Just saw this on another forum I visit, happened about an hour ago, Romans International (Exotic Car dealer in the UK)'s new 2008 599 up in flames. -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- Ouch :eek_blue:

Worked on this today. -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- Mmmm. -
Look,a 260 odd mph box. It'll never do it.
-
Who the hell told you that :oook: Engines and transmissions are all out, only body wheels and seats that are there! It was at work a few months back and came back a few weeks after that, it certianly draws the crowds.

Re: the exhaust, the JanSpeed system on the green car is an option, but we'll see. And re: insurance, i'm looking about 1000 a year 3rd party, which isnt bad considering it's a 1.6, anything else i've looked at thats 1.6 is >£2k
-
White looks a bit naff, just dosent blend. I think the Anthracite looks nice but you never know:)
-
And this is that (hopefully) it will be like next year. For it to look like this it would need - Respray Indicator light detangoed Debadged Anthracite wheel powdercoat Window Tint I reckon I could pull it off for about a Grand since I can do the respray myself at work. -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) --

:) Already started purchasing bits for it.. for anyone who works at bodyshop, I've bought some Farecla G3 and G10, and some 3M Finesse-It. For those folk who dont, they are basically a cutting compuind, much better than T-Cut. That should bright the paint right back up to scratch.
-
Heres a better view of the wheels - - And yes it is a 1.6.
-
I do like them. Look lovely! Only problem putting new wheels on them is the insurance cost goes up, which isnt good :(
-
Maybe this pictures a bit better - -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- It's around 4.5m long.
-
Thats the best bit! Staight off a 2.8 Injection, along with the interior. And Cheers Andreaz. Not little though, the bugger is nearly 5 metres long according to the Haynes book!
-
So here's how the sotry goes - I have always loved Capris, and loved the opportunity to own one, so me and my Dad were halfway through purchasing one before he died in 2001, the day before my 10th Birthday. RIP old man. Anyway, fast worward to Tuesday night (29th April)... Was generally browsing, and came across a 1986 Capri in the next town. Had a look though the images, looked a bit worse for wear, but arranged a viewing anyway. Now fast forward to tonight, There I am standing next to this beautiful, long car. Instant love it really was. Needs a fair bit of work, new battery, exhaust, rust spots fixed etc. I offered him £400 on the spot for it, and we eventually agreed on £450. So it's mine now! I'll be trailering it home in the next few weeks, so until then, you've only got these pictures. IT's not the fact that it's old, I love them, and how many 17 year old UK men can you say you know who own their first car outright with no financial help - I dont know any! So ill be going up soon for another look at it, hand over the dosh and complete the deal. I'm in love :D Will get better pictures for you on Monday - but here it is. -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- Any questions, just fire away!

Jesus, that Audi driver must have had someone up there looking after him.

Car Spotting: What You Saw Recently!

Not looked at, but going to look at - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1986-FORD-CAPRI-LASER-1-6-RS-7-spokes-Recaro-seats_W0QQitemZ160233573077QQihZ006QQcategoryZ29755QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem As a possible restoration project, to be used as my first car. Nothing special but Capri's hold a place in my heart, after restoring a 3.0 when I was 12 with my cousin. :) -

Been for sale many a time, I'm pretty sure it was sold about 2 months ago, but has not been taken off yet.
