  1. Film-wise I shoot a Minolta Dynax 404si with kit lens (24-85mm). Digital-wise I shoot a Canon A720is , and an Olympus E620 with the 14-42, 40-150 and 9-18mm Zuiko Digital lenses.
  2. Could be overheating graphics card.
  3. No, it's on the PC at the same date last time I checked.
  4. Todays games will run absolutely fine. Future games.. we don't know - your graphics card is only DirectX10 (not even 10.1) so if future games take advantage of 10.1 or 11 which is out soon then you'll miss out on those settings, but I don't think that's likely to happen for a while.
  5. It sounds like the 100% new cars will have interiors that also deform/have damage. The other cars will probably have interiors but only external damage.
  6. He is - Alienware are Dell. Alienware are great - if you've never had experience of one then do go and play with one before forming an opinion - they are worth the extra IMO. But that's only if you can afford it. In terms of value for money they're not very good at all, but if you have the money then you're not wasting it getting an Alienware.
  7. That system (OP) is not very good value for money. But for some people money doesn't matter, so it's fine. It will be very well put together and last a long time. It's also enormous, heavy and hot so bear that in mind when deciding where to put it.
  8. Was. Projects get started/trialled and then don't continue plenty of times in game development. We have nothing to assure us that the game is going to come out yet.
  9. Changing motherboard is treated as a new computer for most things. In this case if you bought it in Europe then Metaboli are the best people to contact - they should also be able to pick up messages sent to the e-store email address: [email protected] If you bought it from the American Atari store then you need to contact Digital River.
  10. No, you didn't read his post. You can't use your friend's megapack. End of story. If you want to use the megapack (online or offline) you need to buy your own copy.
  11. Just to be completely different, I don't think it's that at all :p Instead, you have to make sure to activate (run) the digital download before patching.
  12. Have you *ever* installed any patches or other versions?
  13. Are you playing a version of the game bought from a shop, running from the original DVD in the drive?
  14. Yeah.. really annoys me when they build all these cool games using a PC then they end up being console exclusive
  15. It's not coming out on any system at the moment. I'm sure it'll be posted everywhere as soon as anyone knows :)
  16. You need a graphics card, as it says on the back of the box.
  17. Unlikely as the conroe chips require a different power feed.
  18. Getting a new motherboard would likely require you to buy another operating system as well - hp usually only include the OEM versions of windows. Your current CPU looks like it's a prescott (pentium 4 511), which uses socket LGA 775, so you *should* be able to drop in a pentium D chip if you wanted dual core, something like the 805 would run with the same side bus speeds, but would probably be slower in games than your current chip. However, you need to check your motherboard chipset to be sure.
  19. You won't be able to see any difference with a screenshot - across a single frame they will give an identical output.
  20. The 4670 would be considerably better than the 9500. You don't need a new powersupply, and the type of RAM that your computer has doesn't matter.
  21. You can buy CD cleaning kits, or use a mild abrasive like toothpaste or t-cut. But try cleaning it with soap and water first.
  22. They've changed most of the things that I enjoyed the most about SC :( But more SC goodness is always welcome.
  23. I'd question the expertise of that advice - there is no such thing as a motherboard specifically designed for nVidia cards - it would be against ATX and PCI-E specifications to do so. But your choice and whatever you feel best about is what you should get.
  24. No it couldn't - what was probably happening was your old drivers were buggy and didn't actually run at 24x. Now you actually have 24xAA you're seeing the performance hit.
