    Microsoft set out guidelines for achievements. A retail game must contain between 5 and 50 achievements making up a total of 1000 Gamerscore. If they were to tier at as you suggest they would have had to drop other achievements to make room. They've prioritised the achievements they wanted in the game, and tried to provide a variety, rather than a number of achievements being for essentially the same thing.

    Pretty sure they all use a standard thread. Only thing to do is make sure your lens has a thread on it, my kit lens for example doesn't, the rest do though.
