    Ah no, we all have to drive our parents cars here as well, except for the rich ones. Sure prices for the actual car are maybe less here, but that doesn't make it much better, because insurance and tax (and petrol, but that's tax too) are the killers Pressurized: I've never really considered older cars. Maybe because i've got something against them, but free tax is fairly lucrative. And about the Defenders, they are pretty cool, but they are unreliable right? People always say that you can just mend them yourself, but I have no clue how to fix a car...

    ^ Yeah true. But I am poor, as are my parents, so I haven't got a hope of getting my own car anywhere near even my 18th birthday. I hate life in this hell hole.

    Honestly I hate Britain's economy etc. I always hear of people from other countries talking of 'Oh I want a car when I start driving!' and 'what should I get?' Why do we get such immensely high insurance and car prices?!? If I were to get a car for when I start driving (17 - so a years time), if I were to get a 1.2l Clio from about 2002 or so, the car would be about £2000, and insurance £1800 a year. You don't know how lucky you are to just be able to go out and buy a car with a 2.2l engine for driving. Insurance companies just wouldn't insure you for a car like that until you were 21 here.

    ^ Yes, but last time I checked Russia is quite a big place. So unless the players are ALL from Western Russia, it doesn't count.

    A few of my thoughts: 1) Football sucks 2) All the hype about Euro 2008 is really annoying 3) Since when was Russia in Europe? And no, I didn't watch the game.

    ^Mb: I also don't see the point in the UV filter as far as improving photos goes. However it protects the lens, and is the only filter I've got for that lens. And shoot your friend! I never use Auto! Ugh. I really enjoy photography now. I'm really getting into it, and (I hope) my photos are getting much better.

    Exactly. Ian Callum is a genius. And I don't think his cars do look alike. And frankly, why does anyone care? Is it an attempt at trying to find a fault in his career? For those who don't know, cars Mr. Callum has designed include the Aston DB7, Aston DB9, Aston Vanquish, Jaguar XK (new one) and the Jaguar XF. None of those cars could even remotely be called anywhere near ugly!

    Sun storms are the thing that eco-mentalists don't want to talk about. Its the proof against global warming. :p And your understanding of science (and all of ours), lets be honest, is probably not going to be the same as someone entrusted with billions of monies to make a huge tunnel underground of Europe... And yeah, if it does end anytime during our lifetimes, then, assuming it will be something pretty catastrophic, like the things in this thread, then it'll all be too quick for us to notice. If it isn't, there's always doing those things you would never normally do. No, more extreme than that.

    ^ I don't have a polarizer on my zoom lens (they are different sizes in diameter), and I really haven't seen the full effects of it yet (whether they aren't as far as I expect, I will have to find out later), but remember to always have a filter on your lens. I always have the Polarizer on my 18-55mm and a UV one on the 70-300mm. It protects it as well as gives you better effects (in some cases, but not all) I've always said (even before I got the DSLR) that it is the photographer, not the camera that provides the good pictures. Don't go spending lots of money on something you know nothing about.

    Ah the Large Hadron Collider. What a weird piece of kit. I really do want to meet the man who thought making black holes on Earth was a good idea. Oh, and if the world were crushed into a black hole, in theory it would be smaller than a basketball. What is known as a Singularity, which basically is an infinite amount of mass compressed into an infinitely small space (we humans cannot imagine how small this 'one' is. It is just a single point...)

    To be honest, because I don't have a macro lens for my DSLR, I took better macro pictures with my old Samsung L80. However you will always get better photos with a DSLR. For the 'macro' ones I take now, I am actually about a metre away, using my zoom lens. The problem is, is that most lenses can't focus so close to the lens, whereas macro lenses cannot focus on far away things. Also, never use digital zoom to get better pictures. If you reach limits its time for a new camera. Which is what I did :D

    Fixed for ya. :p I have a basic DSLR, and it could easily take pictures like that, if it had a Macro lens like that, which I don't.

    Your postcode isn't unique to your house. They are usually around 5 houses or so, all next to each other, so no surprises if it misses your exact house.

    I'm not sure whether my area has been updated... I swear its better quality, but a house down the road is still being built, which was finished ages ago, and looks at about the same stage as the 'old' photos...

    Euro version. The American one is too big (obviously) and cumbersome, and the Asian one isn't what a Civic should be. They should be proper hatches, like the Euro one.
