  1. They didn't need the Panamera to being with. But, they knew it would sell well, so they built it. Same thing is going to happen to this model. There really is no purpose for a Pamanera convertible, but, it will probably get built anyhow and sell quite well.
  2. Interesting, and it's good to hear that it's not dead lol
  3. REPORT: Porsche Panamera Convertible is coming soon by Jonny Lieberman (RSS feed) on Oct 8th, 2009 at 3:57PM According to a recent report, Porsche will produce a Panamera Convertible. Now, it's not the hoped for four-door convertible. Rather, in the interest of keeping some semblance of chassis rigidity, Porsche is going with a two-door, four-seat convertible. Two doors will also help to keep the weight (ha ha) down. Besides the fact that lots of folks like convertibles, why is Porsche building this car? "We have a broad range of 14 derivatives of the 911 that are very successful," development chief Wolfgang Duerheimer told Automobilwoche. "So it stands to reason we should diversify the lineup for the Panamera as well." Perhaps a little more interesting is what comes at the end of the article confirming Porsche's newest drop top. Since Volkswagen now owns Porsche, the Panamera platform could be used for other products. Imagine the next Bentley Continental being built off a Porsche chassis, instead of the one used for the Phaeton/A8. Or, potentially even better, the Lamborghini Estoque. Neat stuff. Says an unnamed VW board member, "The new Porsche (Panamera) offers the potential for synergies." We're 67% convinced that's good. But uh, as long as they're going two door, might we make a suggestion? 928! 928! 928! They are actually serious about this...
  4. Very nice Abath spots there. Can't wait til those get to the states :D
  5. Yes, but a Maseerati will absolutely kill a Camry of any engine size around any corner. There is also large amounts of detail that go into each Maserati that will never go into any Camry or any Toyota for that matter.
  6. 1958 Volvo PV544 1977 Chevrolet Corvette coupe 2004 Porsche Boxter 2004 Chevrolet Corvette coupe 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z51 coupe 2009 BMW M3 2009 BMW M5 2009 Cadillac CTS-V I think that's about it :)
  7. 11,500 on a Saleen 7,400 on a McLaren F1 LM 5,600 on a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 3,900 on a Lamborghini Murcielago coupe 1,800 on a Lamborghini Gallaro coupe That's all my highest mileage ones I believe.
  8. Both should be immediately added to the pointless cars thread. I personally believe BMW is the king of pointless car building. X1, 5 series GT, X6, X6M, X5M, the entire 1 series line-up, the list goes on...
  9. I'm sorry but you have no idea what you're talking about. The G8 was a FANTASTIC(excuse the caps) seller here in the USA. The only reason the Sport Truck never happened was because GM made the very stupid decision to cut the Pontiac brand. I voted for the Ute's. I don't really find them useful for anything but they can look good if designers take the right approach. They also appeal to a huge demographic of people here in the states. Remeber the El Camino? Sold like wildfire.
  10. It's basiclally the same concept. Think Camaro SS as well and you get the idea. I'll post pictures when I get them installed so you see what they mean.
  11. Not really. The front and back ends really have no slope to them so it's relatively easy to judge where they are. It's a bit wide but the power mirrors are a blassing and help with that. It's not as hard to drive as people think it is.
  12. Today, I was updating my contacts list in my cell phone and when I asked a girl for her number, her reply was, "Oh, I don't have a phone number." She was holding her phone in her hand when she said it.
  13. I have to agree with that one. I thought that Fiat taking over would do Chrysler some good but after seeing them make the Dodge Ram it's own brand, i have lost faith.
  14. Well, on an on-topic note: I think I am going to be ordering my h a l o headlights (think BMW) and LED tail lights sometimes this week so yea I'm excited. Will post more pictures as soon as I get them installed :D
  15. We know your name, it's listed beside your post. And drugs...really? Is that necessary?
  16. No, this is a 1500 series truck.
  17. Feds Begin to Seize Illegal Nissan Skyline GT-Rs in California Imported specialty cars are no rare thing in the U.S. Collectors all across the nation have been shipping in rare automotive gems for decades. Laws regarding foreign-market car shipped into the U.S. aren't taken lightly, though, as several Nissan Skyline owners are finding out. Making a splash on the Web today is the plight of some Southern California-based previous-generation Nissan Skyline GT-R owners who've found out they're being targeted by Federal authorities for driving illegally registered vehicles. The cars were imported using loopholes in customs laws regarding automobiles and automobile parts and now that the Feds have caught wind of it, they're shutting it down quick. According to some owners, at least two R34 series Skyline GT-Rs and one R32 have already been confiscated by officers. Many more cars, they speculate, will be receiving a similar fate. As the story goes, many of the California Skyline GT-Rs have been imported by a company called Kaizo, which has for a number of years made a profitable business out of importing individual GT-R shells and drivetrains, presumably to be sold for parts. Upon delivery of the components, the company reassembled the GT-Rs and several owners have registered the cars as "kit cars" under a California-specific Specially Constructed Vehicles (SPCNS) 4750.1 title. The title is fairly rare -- only 500 permits per calendar year are issued -- and grants a 'Specially Constructed Vehicle' a highly desired smog exemption. Legal details are many, but essentially, a "kit car" by law cannot resemble the vehicle its components are based on. Additionally, the engine used must be California-legal. Previous-generation Skyline GT-Rs were never sold in the U.S. and do not meet either EPA or DOT regulations. That's two strikes against the reassembled GT-Rs, and registering the cars may have been what brought them to the Feds' attention. It seems the Feds have had enough with the shady importation and titling procedures and have begun their sweep on illegally titled, assembled, and publically-driven Skyline GT-Rs. According to the Feds, the vehicles have violated both EPA and Department of Transportation law as they have neither been crash-tested or smog-approved per Federal mandates and will therefore be confiscated. So far, the confiscations have all taken place in Southern California where the local branch of the U.S. District Attorney's office has been handling the case. If the Feds learn the whereabouts of any GT-Rs imported to other states, it's possible they could be confiscated as well. If you happen to be wondering what the big deal is, pristine, low-mileage Skylines GT-Rs can go for a pretty penny that's usually close to the six figures. Also, other states have been known to be more lax on their emissions regulations, so if you know of 10 Skyline GT-Rs running around in your town, you most likely live in one of those states. Check back for more as the story unfolds. While I do not feel sorry for the owners since they knew their cars were illegal, I seriously think the American Feds have more important things to worry about. Just show's how wonderful America really is, doesn't it?
  18. It's probably not the C6 Vette. That is what happens when you link pictures from NetCarShow
  19. I actually would never buy my girlfriend a car. Why you ask? What if she takes the car and leaves, then what? I'll wait until I marry her, then buy her one. She then may still take the car and leave but the chances are less ;)
  20. The 440 is also a much more mechanically solid engine. THey last longer and have less mechanical problems.
  21. No, those are optional t-tops... And thanks to everyone for the good comments. They are much appreciated :D
  22. \ It is... The tops are just on at the moment
  23. I'm working on it lol. The guy who is supposed to paint it has no room in his garage yet so I have to wait until he finishes a couple pf projects to make room for mine :)
