i can FINALLY help you. i had exactly the same problem. mine was after downloading a corrupt mod, but anyway, if you run the game AS ADMINISTRATOR the game WILL work. try this, i hope it works good luck, even though this thread is old, i just found it and thought i could help!:cheeky:

ive got the same router as you and ive had the same trouble i reinstalled the game after opening and closing the ports. try that - it worked for me!

all i can say is to consider whether your copy is illegal. Here are seven things to look for: 1. is your box original 2. does it come with manual 3. does it come with map (some dont) 4. is the sentence above the serial code in bold 5. is the serial number .. ..-....-..//-..// (.= letter /= number) 6. does the CD have writing around the outside 7. is your CD printed with the correct coding otherwise, you could try to perhaps make up a code and see if that works. but if it is illegal, this forum can't help. you can phone ATARI customer support, they will definitely help you!:)

Im nearly an ace on TDU, and all i need to do is do 3 inter club races, but ive read up that you need to be in the same LAN, so if i want to do it with somebody across the world, how do i do it. im a bit confused thanks

like i said earlier, a reventon mod thats good would be nice to have! But please do finish the veyron cause i caant wait

I managed to get my game working after this strange update message, but now it seems that when i am on the game for after five mins, it says 'Network Connection was Lost' and then TDU crashes. I reckon its something to with my router and TDU together. Can anyone help? My router is a D-Link Wirleless ADSL2+ Router Thanks:(

my game is boxed, it came with a map, and the manual, and a real code, thing is though, is i bought it real cheap for £5.95 ($10.00, 7.85euros) from amazon, which i know is legal

somehow, ive managed to get the game working!! but now ive got a new problem - sorry to off topic a bit, but it says 'a new version of TDU is available for download, you must carry out this update if you wish to play online, do you want to download it now?' and then if i select yes, it takes me to testdriveunlimited.com, and then i downloaded the patch, it worked, and it still said the update message when i came back on. See the thread 'Im in a pickle...' if you have any suggestions

i dont think its an illegal copy, it worked fine originally, but then i downloaded the patch, and it worked OK, although through the middle of it, it said about'cannot extarct TDU' and i just skipped it. I dont know whether thats a problem or not! Thanks for your help so far, i tried phoning atari, but that didnt work, they were shut!

Can anyone help me? When i load up the game, it loads up ok, then tells me im selecting a profile. On screen it says 'A new version of Test Drive Unlimited is available for download, to continue playing online, you must install this update'. Then it redirects me to another website (testdriveunlimited.com) and so i downloaded the patch, but that didnt get the problem away!? Does anyone have any suggestions or can anyone help me?:sulk:

you mean the car might never be finished?? that would be TERRIBLE!! its looking really good by the way. will anyone ever do a good reventon mod? maybe when BasBas is finished with the bugatti, and after a long, well earned break, he can complete an amazing lamborghini reventon to replace the lambo murcie. I wish i could do it but im terrible at modding
