It depens on the type off card you use, i use also 256 mb and i can run 1680x1050 without lag. But AA is a really fps killer so i also dont use it, altough pictures look better with it.

I'm on a GeCube HD3450, best low profile card i could find. :(

Firstly my casing's a stupid bookshelf-type, which means i'm limited to low-profile graphics cards only, and there aren't many low profile cards around.

 

Secondly i'm running a crappy 250W PSU, which kind of limits my hardware... was considering a 512MB 9600GT (:nuts:) but was advised against it as my PSU might not be able to support the load... GRRR

Man those pic's would look sweet if you beefed up the graphics. My tip to you; whenever you want to take pictures, just max out all of the graphics and when you want to drive again just go back to how it was.
