Locking with my bro woes

Hi guys, I have talked my brother into buying this game so we can do some racing. I have worked out how to 'lock' us in a session and isolate it.

 

How can I open the map without us getting kicked straight away?

 

What other stuffs might we need to know about this 'locking' I've had a quick look for some help but can't seem to find any. Probably just failing at searching.

Ok..

 

So my Brotato posted up on the atari forum and got a response as thus;

 

Locking players together desyncs as soon as you open the map or enter a building. A couple of people said wait for TDU2.
