The Japanese production company Bandai Visual has launched a website with a 30-second promotional video for its original video anime (OVA) short project Norageki! on Wednesday. The story is set in a certain isolated prison with four prisoners and a cat. One day, a sudden power outage opens the locks and everyone is mysteriously set free from their cells. However, all of the guards are missing, and the prisoners cannot find any exits. Hiroaki Ando (Digital Juice, Steamboy & Tekkonkinkreet CGI director) is directing the animators at Sunrise with writer Dai Sato (Freedom, Eureka Seven). Masaru Gotsubo (Shounen Tantei Inugami Geru, Samurai Champloo manga) and Kimitoshi Yamane (Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop) are responsible for the character and mechanic designs, respectively. The cast includes Miyu Irino (Kōseinen, "Good Young Man"), Takako Honda (Ii Onna, "Good Woman"), Kazuma Mori (Chūnen Otoko, "Middle-Aged Man"), MEG (Ota-Onna, "Female Otaku"), and Seizo Katou (Rōjin, "Old Man"). MEG is also singing the theme song. The six Blu-ray Disc/DVD volumes of the Freezing anime will begin shipping on March 23, 2011 with six OVAs (original video anime) called "Hajikechau! Dokidoki Trouble Freezing" as bonus video extras. Besides two episodes of the television anime, each volume will also include the video extra "Freezing Genetics TV." The first volume will have the credit-less version of the opening. The production company Aniplex, the broadcaster Fuji TV, and the anime studio A-1 Pictures have launched an all-original anime project called Anohana Project. "Chō Heiwa Busters" is credited as the original creator. The official website features the logo of the new title, reworked as a word puzzle. People who solve the puzzle before December 30 will receive new information on the anime and a present. Starting on Friday, selected ANIMATE and AniBro Gamers stores throughout Japan will display panels printed with information regarding the project. In addition, the ANIMATE and AniBro Gamers stores will distribute stickers with information that can be used to fill in the blank parts of the puzzle. The production company THINK Corporation announced on Thursday that the Showa Monogatari (Showa-Era Story) film and television series will launch next year. The original story follows the human drama of the Yamazaki family in Tokyo in the Year Showa 39 (1964) — the year that the city hosted the Summer Olympics. According to Think, the "TV manga" is "the world's first anime aimed at seniors," although it is also targeted at families. Tadahiro Murakami (Symphony in August) is directing the film at the studio Wao World, while Hiroshi Kugimiya (character designer of JAPAN, Our Homeland, Haré+Guu) is directing the television series. The writers include Yasushi Hirano (6 Angels, Brave Exkaiser, Dinosaur King, Ultraman), Sukehiro Tomita (Sailor Moon, Macross, Sazae-san), Natsuhisa Arakawa (Mobile Suit Gundam 00), and Miho Maruo (Chibi Maruko-chan). Tatsuo Yanagino (Lupin III: The Legend of the Gold of Babylon) is designing the characters and overseeing the animation process. The film, which is about 100 minutes long, will open in Japan on January 29, 2011. The television series of 13 30-minute episodes will follow in April, although a television special will air at the end of 2010. The 14th limited-edition volume of Yasunori Mitsunaga's Princess Resurrection manga will bundle a DVD containing the Tokkyū Ōjo anime on March 9, 2011. The new anime will be an adaptation of three story episodes — "Tokkyū Ōjo," "Chō Tokkyū Ōjo," and "Kessen Ōjo" — from the ninth manga volume. The limited edition of the 14th manga volume will also have a different cover design from the standard edition without the DVD. Purchasers of Shinki Kitsutsuki's first manga volume based on Nihon Falcom's Eiyū Densetsu: Sora no Kiseki role-playing game will be offered a chance to obtain an animated promotional video. The video will be included on a DVD in a limited-edition special set. The set will feature an exclusive player's card, a DVD with the promotional video and a "sound comic" (slide-show-style reformatting of the manga with a soundtrack), and an original drama CD.
