    DVD2Avi is outdated and now all the video editing and production sites are recommending another software. This software and a guide can be found here: http://www.digital-digest.com/articles/Creating_D2V_Project_page1.html Also check and see if your DVD-R can record in a different format also, some can.

    Iced I noticed it says not to click Save AVI, not sure why it would say this but try clicking that instead and see if it saves your DVD to an AVI file. :)

    I haven't had the need to use that software but all you should need to do is open the VOB file and then the program should convert that to the AVI file required. I'll have a quick look around again.

    Right it's recording an actual DVD with the seperate Audio and Video folders with the VOB files and such which takes a little bit more work and some digging around. It may be a lot easier though as I have heard that some DVD-R's have the option of changing the recorded format to MPEG. If not there is a program called DVD2Avi that will convert the DVD files to an AVI file that you can load into VirtualDub and use whatever codecs you have to compress or use Sony Vegas to edit and then compress. By the way I recommend you download the K-Lite Codec Pack, great bunch of codecs but can be confusing to use. [+] It appears DVD2Avi has now gone FREEWARE!

    Iced what is the file(s) that the DVD is showing? Is it MPEG or a bunch of VOB files? If you could even just attach a screenshot of the disc contents that would be even better. :)

    It will be a 50% chance you'll get yours back repaired with new cd drive and heatsink like I'm sure I have had and then you may get a refurbished or new box back but I would imagine with the amount they're getting back it's easier to repair that persons rather than send a refurb or splash for a new one.

    Yep sorry to hear that Hybrid mate but at least that issue is still under warranty and will be collected and fixed or replaced for free and then delivered is a slight silver lining to this situation.

    Sorry to hear that Hybrid mate, do a quick test, tilt your box from side to side and if you hear a clicking sound like plastic moving about then you have the dreaded melted from graphics card issue that all 2005/2006 360's will suffer in their time. One thing to note is they will ask you what colour the light on the PSU is, it's something like Orange when off, Green when On and something else. Hopefully you should get it sorted quickly and I would recommend phoning them now, then phone UPS in the morning after you get your email and after you have packaged it they will collect it and hopefully will get it back to you quick as.

    Wednesdays are usually for Arcade if I remember correctly and the rest of the working well is normally everything else. So either it's Microsoft's fault for the delay yesterday with the downtime or certification never went through and as usual we know absolutely jack with what's happening. From what I can see though the Marketplace hasn't had an update in New Arrivals unless I am missing something.

    I thought the images were meant to be as they came out the game itself, AMG's has a white overlay with little opacity which where it looks good, it's clearly post edited and I thought that wasn't permitted in the actual entries to start with? [+] It was only in the first one so I guess it was more of an unwritten rule.

    Suprised noone mentioned the fact they managed to get a Reventon and the Stig was driving it. That jet style instrument display was sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

    Nope, that's only an input, plus most TV's can't output any kind of video signal when in VGA mode.
