It should, but it doesn't. There are still idiots with 1000HP 2CV's scamming ignorant newbies from their freshly earned money near the Caravan. Anti cheat is more targeted at illegally unlocked DLC and Pirated copies of the game. But it would be very cool to get access to the core game files, as than you can do a lot more, like make the FFB actually work, and unleash the physics engine with working diffs etc.

The Driving in The Crew is much more alive and real than in TDU1 or TDU2. Despite the obvious Arcade game play you can also have a lot of fun just driving around and enjoy the handling and scenery. But the TDU2-UP team did an excellent job in squeezing the max from the available handling model in TDU2. Some UP cars are actually very good to drive, also in comparison to other games. Without more in depth access to the core game files more can not be done. The driving in TDU2 has always been flawed with bad wheel support, no proper working FFB and nerfed physics.

the crew The Crew & Route 909, MMO-car-PG!
MadManCK replied to Route909_BanKs's topic in Driving & Racing Games
They showed a lot more areas in free roam. Some of the missions and challenges were shown before. The Air Base track and Windmill park were new. Those are fun. Makes me want to play it again even more, lol. :D Very nice way to introduce the game to a wide audience and showoff some gameplay. -

Way too long. Long enough to show the same trailers well over 100 times. :oook::eek2::nuts: But some cool gameplay. I didn't go to the Airbase during the demo session, so that was a new one for me. For the rest i think it is really cool they let a lot of devs talk about their passion. But none of the questions that were asked here or at TDUDT were asked to them. -
Thanks for the heads up. I have sent them 3 PM's this Week. Highly annoying. Just uploaded 2 new CRC Challenges. But watching The Crew live stream now.

Atari won't, but most players will. :D

Vanilla game is an unmodded, original game as you bought it. Last week Atari stated the servers would not go down. But the player servers are offline for a week now. We will see if they get a reboot next week.

There is an in-game phone that pops up and gives you instant access to all kinds of game files, settings and also the Car List. Very cool option  -

I can answer that one. You will have instant access to your all cars with the smartphone app, wherever you are. And you will stay with your Crew. Q: Will you be able to make custom missions and challenges for your friends and crew? -
Yes, it is Atari CS. As there were some rumors about a server shutdown, i have asked them. The GameSpy servers will go down at the end of this month. But TDU2 is not hosted there. TDU1 was. ;)

Lol, there is still a fix for V04 in the making. (auto gears and sound fixes) But i like that McLaren F1  PS Xarlith is taking a well deserved break from TDU2 for a while. Team has worked really hard to get V04 released. And don't forget it is all voluntary. Good news is also that Atari still keeps the TDU2 servers active. That has been confirmed.

Time to clean out the Casino. Starting with that crook bartender, stealing cherries from ignorant all-in pokerstars.

Nice Mileage. Especially considering V04 is only a couple of weeks live, lol  And how many Hours of playtime? Must be 10.000 or something, lol:confused: :D

The "missing" car list is used as a guideline yes, but cars will be added, based on available models and modders preferences. If there is a newer car that is more interesting than the ones on the list, it might end up in the TDU2-UP. Available car slots can be used for different cars as well. That Road Runner would be fun to have for sure. It is basically the same as a Dodge Charger BTW.

Make sure you unpack a vanilla, updated (0.34) version of TDU2. And apply the UP V04 (for unpacked) on it. That will work online and give you all the extra benefits, like new cars and fixes as offset wheels, holes in cockpits etc.
-
Make sure to backup your original game files on an external device. You might need them for a future reinstall. And you don't want to re-download all updates from Atari. Also if you mess up your unpacked folder, you can easily create a new one that way. Don't delete without making a backup first.

This does not relate to modding from the community but modifying with performance parts in the game. Ferrari didn't like bikini car wash (are they Italian or not??) and to paint the cars freely and to tune the cars in TDU2, while in TDU1 you could tune and paint them (factory colors). They can create a lot of headaches for the car modeling department  But the USA is a big market for them as well. They are still working on licenses for The Crew, so never say never (i can remember some "issues" with another Italian brand during TDU2 licensing, that is already confirmed for The Crew, Lamborghini). There were cars on the "Cool Wall" at Ivory Tower, that are still not revealed (other brands), some may never be part of the game. Licensing is still in progress. So we will see what they cook up for the carlist, once more info becomes available. But like Diablo said, tuning options will be limited for certain brands. Makes sense too.

They were a bit evasive about the security subject. But it will be of the same level as the rest of the game. Starting with your savegame being on the cloud and not your PC/console. It will be hard to keep the bad boys out, but if the quality of the server team is of the same high standard as the reast of the Crew, they will manage. Driving will be a few steps above TDU1, as it also incorporates diffs and tire models etc. I call it Fun-Sim. Especially the combination of wheel, physics and interaction with the driving environment is as good as it gets. That is what will make The Crew stand out from the Crowd. Gameplay will have elements from Driver SF, GTA but also TDU. And RPG elements as well. As the driving in some arcade racers has really been dumbed down the last couple of years, The Crew will draw players from NFS, TDU, Driver SF and maybe a lot more. Time to get rid of dinky handling models and bring the driving back to the open world, where it belongs. It falls or stands with the online experience. That will be the next big test for The Crew. More news will be revealed in a few weeks time.

As long as not everybody has a "next-gen" high speed fibre optic internet connection, there are limits to what you can do online. A lot of players still have a poor connection, or are playing through a wifi network etc. They have to take the worst kind of connections in account when they write the server codes. There are 8 players in a session "bubble" but there are 1000nds of players online at the same time. Roads would be cluttered with cars and the world would become unplayable if you make those bubbles too big. Other games have up to 12 cars in a race (Grid2) so maybe that can be done in the future. But that game has no open world to cope with. Right now it is more important to get the most stable and best possible online experience, without the issues we had to deal with in TDU2. I think that has a higher priority than adding a few more players in a group.

the crew The Crew - Unofficial FAQ & Other Crap that could be useful
MadManCK replied to Eudemon's topic in Driving & Racing Games
Atari could have easily made a lot of money with TDU2, by just releasing the cars that were prepared as DLC packs, once every 3 months or so. The Solar Crown was also originally meant to be done again. But that was patched. They were on the verge of bankruptcy when TDU2 was released, selling their table silver and rushing a release as a last stand. But that is history. And now i have been at the Ivory Tower Studio, i know where the talent has gone. Off course UbiSoft will try different ways to get revenues from The Crew. They have been very patient, letting the developers create something very good. That takes a big investment and commitment. So the price of the game, combined with some cool DLC and some micro-n00b-unlock codes for the impatient gold card pre-teens, is a good way to make some cash. I don't really see an issue, as Julian Gerighty already confirmed there is no Pay-to-Win.- 39 replies
