I know it's pretty easy to use the BlingBlingMod to get custom paint for cars, but it's not exactly easy to get reliable colour-matching. Due to that, I'm going to be selling sets of zero-mileage cars with custom paint colors. (NOT done through paint-swapping, but done with Deluxe Paint. Why would you want this, you may ask? Read below.) Examples: - Active Red, Lightning Yellow, and Midnight Purple III for the Skyline GT-R R34 - Maserati Blue with black decals on an MC12 - McLaren LM Orange paint on F1 GTR or F1 GT Best part about this: all cars are zero-mileage, sold around $1000 under dealer price (yes, I'm doing this at a loss) and done on special orders. :D Any takers?
-
Djey, I know you're working on a car color modification tool for the next Mod Tools; is an interior color modification tool in the pipeline for a later version? :D
-
If you're looking to change the colors, that's not really possible because that's stored in the database, not in the .bnk. I want this to be figured out too. :D (It will be figured out basically as soon as Djey figures out how to add paint colors to cars.)

I recommend replacing the Ford GT with the Mustang GT500KR - it works better, in my opinion, and the rims are the right size.

M6, M3, E92, and E46 are all there, but M3, E92, and E46 are all separate, so if you want M3 E46 or M3 E92 (all in one), that's understandable. Is the file bigger than the original? If so, you need the Magic Map by Djey. One note while downloading that though, make sure you have the correct version for your game. If you have the Magic Map and it still doesn't work, just restore from your backup.
-
Did you use the Modding Tools 1.10.0? That version had a database corruption bug that managed to eat my Lexus dealership several times. Once you have your game reinstalled, make a backup of your DB.BNK, and upgrade to Modding Tools 1.10.2.

TDU Community Patch 1.67d [Please upgrade to 1.68 instead!]
RedCarDriver replied to Djey's topic in TDU - Support
As far as I know, it won't cause any problems. Ace Project is a one-time hack that simply makes your savegame have club races completed (and does not run continuously or do anything beyond giving you a blank savegame with club races finished), and this patch is a database-only mod. I don't think any conflicts are even really possible :D @ SlashTheTexan: I don't know what IK stands for exactly, but it's the configuration for all of the seat-belt positions, gear-shift setup, and other things like that. Unless you have vehicle-model-mods or car-swaps installed you don't need to worry about those. :D Also, the only thing you would need to back up (if you wanted to back anything up at all) would be the Database folder, since that's the only thing this patch modifies. Don't worry too much about it if you've already patched it without backing up, though, this patch is stable. -
Japanese mostly, but I do like Italian cars. Some American and other European cars are nice too.

First off, sorry for bumping such an old thread, but I figure I should help this guy out at least a little. You'll need the TDU Modding Tools (newest version, preferably) and GIMP for Windows. You will also need the DDS plugin for GIMP. First, make a backup of the file you want to edit and put it somewhere where you will be able to find it. Open the Modding Tools. Go to 2DB -> DDS. Select Many. Drag the .bnk file into where it says ".bnk to convert __________". Hit Extract / OK or whatever the button is called. Once you have the .dds files extracted, open them with Gimp. Close the one that's all pink/purple/blue; that's the "normal map", which is only really helpful in certain circumstances. You'll know which one you want. As far as actually editing the image, I can't help you too much. It's a little tricky, especially if you don't know what you want. To get it back into the game, save the image. When a dialog comes up asking what format you want, select DXT1 and check "create MipMaps". Select OK, and it should save. Now, go back to the Modding Tools. Use the File Browser to extract the .2db file with the same name as the .dds you edited. Drag-and-drop this into the same directory as the .dds file. Close the File Browser and go to DDS -> 2DB. Drag the .2DB into the "Original 2DB" blank spot, and the .DDS into the "New DDS" blank spot. Hit Convert. Now go back into the File Browser and import the *whatever it was called*_NEW.2DB into the .BNK file. If you did everything correctly, you should be done at this point. :) I hope this helps.

Personally I use the Oahu Raceway for drifting, or Tantalus. Tantalus is incredibly hard, though - you will spin out a lot. The (Not-So-)Secret Island is pretty good for drift practice too. I wouldn't know too many better drift courses, though, since I don't actually drift too often.

Alright, my turn to post my swaps: ("fits perfectly" does not refer to cameras or IKs, but to performance) Weismann Roadster MF3 -> BMW M3 E46 - fits perfectly Ferrari F430 -> Ferrari F430 Scuderia - fits perfectly Edonis -> Porsche Carrera GT - fits perfectly Farboud GTS -> Nissan GTR - fits perfectly with drive change Alfa GT -> Honda NSX - fits perfectly with drive change, especially since the tuned Alfa GT becomes Class E Corvette C6 Conv. -> Camaro Concept - fits perfectly Saturn Curve -> Honda S2000 - fits pretty well Saturn Sky -> Honda Integra - fits decently with drive change Lexus GS450h -> Toyota Supra - fits perfectly Lexus IS350 -> Mazda RX-7 - fits decently Lexus LS460 L -> Nissan 300ZX - fits perfectly if you ignore the first two gears lol Lexus LS600h L -> Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X - not too happy with this one, I need a better swap Lexus SC430 -> Nissan Silvia Spec-R Aero (S15) - fits decently Audi S6 -> Subaru Impreza WRX STi GDB-F - fits nicely Audi RS4 -> Audi R8 - a little underpowered, but nice overall Audi S4 Cabriolet -> Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 - fits perfectly Audi A6 -> Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 - fits nicely Audi TT -> Audi TT 2007 - obviously a perfect fit Audi A3 -> Mitsubishi FTO - fits nicely, ride height is a bit high though Cadillac Cien -> Bugatti Veyron - fits perfectly, but a bit haxxor-like with AWD swap Cadillac CTS-V -> BMW M3 E92 - fits okay Cadillac XLR-V -> BMW M6 Coupe - fits okay The only two swaps in this where I regret not having the original car are the Audi RS4 and the Cadillac CTS-V.

Alright, I guess I'll help out too if there's still a spot. :) Name: RedCarDriver Gamertag (GameSpy): Harrison15 Capture Program: VirtualDubMod, probably (will see if I can get it working, and how well it works) Car: Ferrari F40 in Rosso Corsa or red Noble M400 or Nissan Skyline GT-R BNR34 in Active Red or whatever's convenient for you guys I can both drive and film, but be warned, I am not exactly Tanner Foust when it comes to stunt driving in TDU. I can drive competently though. (If I'm in an F40, I can perform a lot more impressively due to the car's better weight balance and handling, but I can make do with any car.) I should also probably note that I do not currently have an account with YouTube; I can create one, if the need arises.

Do you still get enjoyment out of TDU?
RedCarDriver replied to zo6dude's topic in Driving & Racing Games
Under Windows XP, it's in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Test Drive Unlimited. I dunno about Vista though. Hope that helps. -
Do you still get enjoyment out of TDU?
RedCarDriver replied to zo6dude's topic in Driving & Racing Games
Yes, with lots of help from modifications (new cars :D) and also largely due to the fact that I haven't beaten a number of the challenges yet. (I just have a few Time challenges I can't beat, and some of the Hitchhiker, etc. challenges I haven't had time to finish.) Unfortunately, though, I haven't played TDU that much recently, just because I've been busy with other stuff. -
It's time consuming - REALLY - and it's confusing, and hard to get it working the way you want it. Trust me, I've tried. It never worked. :ill: Of course, if you have time to kill, you could write a guide for people who can't boot up their games 200 times in a row to test it. :P  And, yes, it's at Euro/Bnk/FX/FX.ini. I've edited it before but it's difficult and I couldn't get what I wanted.

WinRAR (not free) or ExtractNow (free). I prefer ExtractNow, because it's free and it works more quickly.

Do you have the MegaPack? If so, it may be in your best interest to apply Patch 1.67D. This patch works hand-in-hand with the newest version of the ModTools and includes updated database files, since apparently, your database files are causing the problem somehow. If not, it could be because the tools are not designed to work without the MegaPack (but I have no idea if that's the case or not). See if you have a backup of your DB.bnk and DB_US.bnk files (under \*install directory*\Euro\BNK\Database\ ), and restore to that backup. If you don't have a backup, I don't know what to tell you. You may have to reinstall. :( (But, you can keep your \vehicules\ and \sounds\vehicules\ directories the way they are; just copy them elsewhere while you reinstall :D and make backups of all the necessary files.)

Why This Problem Happens - Full Explanation This problem occurs with all versions of Djey's mod tools before 1.10.2. When you try to move any cars out of or into the Lexus dealership, or try to move any Lexuses into another dealership, your Lexus dealership may vanish altogether and corrupt the database. I assume Djey knew about this, since this problem no longer exists in 1.10.2. Only the DB.bnk file is affected by this glitch. If you restore your DB.bnk from a backup and then use the newest version of the mod tools instead, this problem should disappear. (Of course, remember to make backups anyway.) I had this glitch several times (in a row, after re-modding the DB file repeatedly and time-consumingly :crying: ) before I realized I should have updated my version of the Mod Tools. I updated it and it was fine, although I had wasted considerable time trying to figure out what I had done wrong. -RedCarDriver

released Noble M12 GTO 3R '06 rearlights MOD Ver.2
RedCarDriver replied to Brazzucca's topic in Car Customization Mods
The textures are pretty good, but (seeing as those lights are likely to be outsourced from a Hyundai sedan in real life) I think I'll pass. :P Nice work though, it looks pretty authentic. -
The car in the 2nd picture is in fact a 1999-2002 Galant VR-4. I'd like to see a Galant VR-4 as well, in fact :) Unfortunately, I don't know where anyone would find a model...

TDU Community Patch 1.67d [Please upgrade to 1.68 instead!]
RedCarDriver replied to Djey's topic in TDU - Support
Upgradable F40s? Add-on dealerships (supposedly, in the future) and database files with variable size? Where have I been for the past week? :D Djey, it's safe to say you've changed TDU modding forever with this - more than likely, for the better. :D Now I can have my long-sought-after upgraded F40  (not to mention, properly-named addon cars :D) EDIT: Frik, I knew there was a catch. Every time I load my save game and exit the garage, the game hangs on the "Saving, Please Wait" screen and I have to reboot my PC. I installed it manually, and (AFAIK) correctly. In addition, immediately after installing but before running, I started using the mod-tools and adjusted some car names. The car names work in the garage. Help please? EDIT 2: Nevermind, I deleted my Radial.CDB and it worked fine. Thank you so much for this patch! -
I can kick up the volume and add a little additional distortion, if that's what you want. I have no idea where to dig up samples of Ferrari F1 cars. >_> (YouTube doesn't work, btw, because the samples won't loop properly.) I might be able to dig something up from GTR2 or something that might help.
