  1. Looks like the 458 will be available in Forza Motorsport 3: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_458_Italia#The_458_Italia_in_racing_games I'm not sure if it's possible to import models from an Xbox game tho... Apparently it's going to be included in Gran Turismo 5 as well (but same deal with importing I guess) Mate! There are some seriously detailed models in those games!!: http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/60566 Almost makes me want to own an console....... Naaa. :p
  2. Is 'Ace' status achievable in offline mode? (I've never heard of it before...)
  3. Huh? I don't understand... In any case, this bug may well have been present before 1.66. Ah! Good call Shy Guy! This does indeed fix the issue! +Rep for you! :) Djey has really done his homework on his mod tools!!
  4. Hey guys, I have discovered a bug in 1.66a which I don't believe has been resolved in 1.67d. Basically the 4WD RUFs do not act as 4WDs (despite being set as such). There is an incorrect setting in the performance parameters of these vehicles (namely 'transmission_primacy, which affects front/rear torque split) that is causing this issue. I understand that there is the possibility that there may be some issues with online play when these kinds of parameters are changed, but in this case I doubt it would be a problem. I am happy to test online to confirm if required.
  5. Naa, that's not going to do it... I've already unlocked the car, but I just want to get it back again without loosing / replacing my current saved game!!
  6. I won the Alfa Romeo 8C in the 'Tour of the Island' race and promptly sold it thinking I didn't want it. I've changed my mind and now I want it again, :D but I can't buy it from the dealer again as it tells me I've already bought it! I really don't want to start a new profile just to get this car. Does anyone know how I can get this car back (saved game & game file hacks are perfectly acceptable - this is an offline profile). Thanks in advance :)
  7. Oh yes Yes YES!!! This car is PURE SEX ON WHEELS!!! and it's fast too!!
  8. Hahaha... that made me laugh!! :D .... aaaand it's gone.
  9. 3,2,1... Heh, gotta love the plain text car parameters!! :D the GTA series was good like that as well! Mod Edit: Please stop double posting, use the edit button instead, thanks!
  10. Anyone know where to get the black rims for this model?
  11. Nice sound! Any chance of doing a 'bumper cam' version of your gauge? :D
  12. Is anyone able to please tell me how I can mod the the police car data? (eg; sounds, rims etc). Is there a way to do it via the modding tools? Otherwise, if anyone knows it's reference number that will do also.
  13. Can anyone enlighten me as to how I can mod the CarVSTConfig.xmb file which is inside a sound .bnk file?
  14. I think I may have found the location of the settings which determine whether the cops chase you for speeding or not: AIConfig.xml. However, I can't figure out which of the parameters I need to change (I've tried quite a few!). Can anyone enlighten me?
  15. Nice work Fl0w! It's good to see a speedo that goes up to 400+!! :D
  16. Love it!! 3 Questions: 1. How do you change the 'outside' color (eg; over the wheel arches on the front?) 2. Is there any way to reduce the reflectivity of the front wheel arch / bonnet sections? (it just looks a bit too reflective on my system for some reason) 3. Would you consider doing a '2009 Mansory Veyron 16/4 Vincerò' version? (http://www.supercars.net/Pics?viewPic=y&source=gal&uID=119513&gID=2172&pgID=2&pID=884710&first=true) DAMN that's a sweet looking version!!! Thanks for all your work on all the models you release dude!! I appreciate your efforts & really enjoy running your mods!!! :)
  17. I should clarify, I think I was running the 'v1.66a no car pack' version by mistake. I have 'v1.66a WITH car pack installed'
  18. Nope, doesn't work when I use the modding tools either. EDIT: Weird! I re-downloaded DJey's bnk.map mod file and now it works! I think I may have been running the wrong version, but I have no idea why it worked with other cars before!? Maybe I just happened to be modding non Car Pack cars!? Anyway, problem sorted, thanks for the suggestion anyway :)
  19. Hey Reaper, Your S3 looks sweet, but for some reason I can't run it on my install. I've run heaps of other car replacements and had no problems, I even reverted all files back to their originals and copied only your modded 'A3_V6.bnk' file and DJey's modded 'bnk.map' over, but it still crashes. Basically I load up the game, go to the map and click on the Audi dealership, and it crashes. I've also tried: - A different saved game - Buying the A3 before adding your mod - Downloading the mod again from a different source ... but it still doesn't go. Any ideas what might be going on here?
  20. Ok, I did some testing online with modded database files online and Djey is right, you can connect with modified '# wheel drive' settings. So obviously I have to partially concede my 'can't connect with modded game files' point. HOWEVER, from my testing I have discovered that you can't connect with modified HorsePower, Torque or Top Speed. Obviously the checks are done on a per-parameter basis and the major performance based parameters are the ones being checked. I know people will say that '# wheel drive' is a performance parameter, but I would argue that the tools available to change this parameter are already available on this board and the argument has been made that the performance difference is negligible. While my original suggestion of making a distinction between file based and memory based mods is not as clear cut now, I still think that based on the fact that you can't actually connect after modifying the main performance parameters that there continues to be little reason to keep the ban on file based performance modding. I will update my original post to reflect this new information.
  21. What people seem to keep forgetting is that the ONLY currently viable (ie; after patch v1.66a) method to hack performance in TDU online is via memory hack methods. Memory hacking is in a completely distinct category to file based hacking so surely we can amend the rules to allow file based hacks but not memory based ones!? I'm prepared to be proven wrong on this point, but so far, despite my asking, no one has been able to prove that this is not the case. Woodruff, I think you're missing my point, and the wording of the question. I am talking about offline/single player only mods.
  22. Ok, Diablo made a good comment here: So are you saying Diablo that it IS possible to join an online game using ONLY file based mods? If so, surely just this information can be restricted and not general performance modding info? I know for a fact that doing a 'standard' file mod won't allow you to connect and I believe that if any of the checked files (which includes the file containing the performance information) fails a checksum test then you are booted. So I can't see how this would work other than a very sophisticated .exe wrapper hack, as the main game .exe is also subject to a checksum test.
  23. Ok, Diablo has graciously agreed to unlock my thread. Thanks Diablo! The discussion is on again!
  24. Thanks Diablo, I appreciate it! Any chance of re-opening the poll?
  25. I understand your concerns, but I'm just blown away that you guys won't even allow DISCUSSION about an UNOFFICIAL rule!! I was VERY clear in my original post that I did NOT want to discuss ACTUAL HACKS, just the reasons around their restriction!
