GM have perfected extracting the least possible amount of power from the biggest possible engine capacities. I mean, what does the Tech IV Iron Duke output? 100 horsepower? Just...
, you know.

lots of excitement
When can I show up for a test drive?
Well, in other news, I finally figured out what's wrong with my Golf's battery. What's wrong with it is that there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, but one of the terminals keeps disconnecting and reconnecting itself (and thus depleting the charge) due to the previous butter hand of an owner not fitting the replacement battery properly and fastening it down. Ugh.

That TDU2 icon cannot be unseen.
Guilty pleasure of mine, just like those crunch-coated peanuts, except far less enjoyable and the subsequent sense of guilt far greater.

Where did this start? Saw it on another forum, now I see it everywhere?
This, my dear friend, is called an ''internet meme'', which according to Wikipedia is ''an idea, style or action which spreads, often as mimicry, from person to person via the Internet, as with imitating the concept.''

Not surprised about your mum not liking the color, once you see one of these in Valencia Orange, you pretty much fall in love. I did, at least.
I got up to 195 on an uphill on a busy bahn test driving the Golf at around 6pm, so it's not really that hard unless you're in the wrong lane. It's all about flashing those high beams. There was some old poop in a brown PT Cruiser chugging his old shoe along on the inside lane, no less.
Lightness of tools is very Germanic. Those will only get lighter as new cars come, and I'm very surprised how people still go for flappy paddles and automatics because of that (apart from those improving along as well, but nevermind). New manuals are an absolute gas to drive, and I thought even my 15-year-old Golf is surprisingly pleasant in that respect. Apart from the crunch in first. If your parents DO end up getting it, and I sincerely hope they do, actually invite me along next time. I can't believe we had both come so far and were so close, I could have driven past you!

And thus, after a gruesome 27-hour bus ride to Osnabrück, Germany, 8 hours of combined sleep in 5 days, 16-hour driving stints, getting lost in Poland (twice), 20 speed camera captures and getting stopped by probably the most beautiful traffic police officer on the planet, here she is:
My Mk.IV Golf GTI 2,3. Yes, that's the V5. Yes, it sounds awesome. Yes, it's quick enough to go beyond this:

Well at least I don't have the dirtiest car here
Moar pics Hayley!
Well, most of the dirt at the front there is actually paint damage. There is more on the sides under the actual dirt. Followed by rust.
Don't drive fast on gravel in your low cars, kids.

BASK AGAIN!!!
A glamorous photoshoot, because every fat lass deserves a moment to feel beautiful. No, I haven't washed it since then. Yes, more trim has fallen off.

Judging by the avatar and posted specs, I'd like to assume he's got what I've got.
