  1. Hey guys, making YET another dramatic return. This is, as of this very moment, a placeholder. I should be picking up an Xbox One and FM5 on Thursday night (AEST) (unless something goes horribly wrong with EB Games, or my pay...), and photos will follow shortly there-after. Really excited to be back and bring you all new content :)
  2. I like your thinking Diablo, at the moment i'm just doing a couple of hot laps in each car to see how they feel and get the fastest lap I can, but after I've done the last lot, i'll have a race with the lot of them, and... well, we'll see how it goes :D best motoring style
  3. Decided to try something a little different. I'm pretty sure i've tried stuff like this in the past. (in your best over-exaggerated Japanese accent please) 90's JDM Suzuka Challenge This is a collection of 10 of my favourite Japanese cars, test driven in stock form by me, to see how they go. These cars were pretty cutting edge in their day (some much more than others). 1992 Toyota MA70 Supra Turbo One of my favourite Toyota land-yachts (of which there are many). This thing is boaty, no doubt about it. Even with that, its not overly understeer or oversteer prone, suprisingly balanced, easy enough to kick sideways enough to get you around a tight corner but hard to lose control in a normal corner, unless your going way too hard. Best lap- 2:42.886 1999 Honda AP1 S2000 The S2000 is grippy, but once the tyres are heated, it is easy to overdo it in tight sections. Having such a high red line is great, combined with good gear ratios, it accelerates well off the line and out of corners. Fun to drive, somewhat oversteer prone- quite easy to accidently kick sideways. Best lap- 2:31.961 1995 Toyota SW20 MR2 GT The MR2 has a bit of an understeer problem, but still grips if you are careful with it. Very easy to get comfortable over a lap, then overshoot the first corner... Is easy to unbalance and send off the track in the opposite direction to where you wanted to go. Bad gear ratios. Still fun, but tuning helps. Best lap- 2:36.333 1992 Toyota ST165 Celica GT-FOUR On cold tyres, not a particularly fun car to drive. Slow off the mark due to turbo lag, lack of overall power and long gear ratios like the MR2. Once you give it a lap to get used to it, and warm it up, its a blast for a D class car. It inspires a lot of confidence, it grips pretty well, and if you go hard it lets you chuck it around. Reminds me a lot of my Corolla actually (not my Levin, i'm sure it's better than my Corolla- havent actually driven it yet!). Best lap- 2:39.831 1997 Nissan R33 Skyline GTR V-Spec Unlike most, I actually prefer the R33 to the R32 and R34 GTR Skylines. Did you know, despite it being bigger and heavier, the R33 lapped the Nordschliefe faster then the R32, in its pre-release testing? As expected, its AWD system makes short work of the tightest corners, pulling out hard in first gear at Suzukas hairpin with no loss of grip. There is a little turbo lag, and its gear ratios are probably a little long but it still accelerates well. Best lap- 2:30.043 :) hope you enjoyed the first part of this article, ill have the second part up later in the week.
  4. Righto :) edit: god damn clarence! I just found out how old your E63 photo is!
  5. Yeah theres just no alternative on Windows devices :\ if it wouldnt cost me so much (due to being on a plan) I would have taken it back and swapped it for an Xperia or HTC One by now :\ not overly impressed thus far (had it for a few months), but maybe they'll start fixing the bugs soon... many many bugs... edit: its a really nice interface though, its really nice to use and it runs very well, fast, just compatability with regular things isnt there (the facebook windows phone app is a joke, frankly, especially considering I can go into the browser, go to the website and do everything I cant do through the app there...) and some things are a bit clunky. Great camera, great flash (which doubles as a great flashlight), great screen, great music player, great inbuilt speakers, really good looking package... :(
  6. As far as I can see, a bunch of people are participating? If its me your talking about, I was genuinely curious as to whether it was counted, because some part of forza 4 does count the commodore as a euro car (might be the euro saloon race series, which it clearly shouldnt be eligible for). Hell even I entered, and i'm hardly here anymore.
  7. The problem was (...is) with my Nokia Lumia 925- it runs Windows, and basically the IE browser app does not like whatever this forum is built on, I can post no problem on other forums, but the text boxes here dont work. Maybe you guys could look into making it more compatible? Not sure how many of us use Windows phones/devices though. Oh and no, you cant get Chrome or Firefox (or any other browser, as of yet) for Windows phones, which sucks...
  8. So in a couple of years Holden will be eligible, along with cherry and great wall in a china themed comp? :P fair enough, some AMG or something coming soon ;)
  9. Ooh yes, spot. What to pick... Heres an interesting one- forza counts the HSV Holden commodore as European... They were sold in Britain as a Vauxhall, depite it being an Australian made car- would they count for this comp?
  10. WOO not yet with the times! Been watching a lot of Petrolicious on youtube lately, plus i've been feeling creative and artistic again :) Couple of cars I wanted to take photos of forever, but could never do justice to- ironically, similar cars, in ways beneath the skin. Both twin cam 1.6 litre engines, both rear wheel drive, both very lightweight coupes- thats a whole bunch of my favourite things right there. Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA Toyota AW11 MR2 :) Yep, i'm still around, busy with work 90% of the time so I don't get to take any photos, but i've really put in the effort this time and tried really hard at pushing the boundaries of what FM4 can do, and I like the results- expect more like this from me soon, i've got another few cars I want to do.
  11. So the engine has been pulled, the new engine is mostly ready, still a gasket or 2 to get- found that the power steering rack and driveshafts are both stuffed, so they'll be replaced before the engine goes back in, and also the brake lines need replacing too... The closer we get, the further we end up from finishing... Definitly getting there though, not too much longer I hope.
  12. The rules for voting have changed, yaaay! I did not realize you had to vote for 3, not just 1. Sorry.
  13. OOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH LAWDY! Apricot Hill, amongst other amazing things. Yep, getting this soon. Awesome shots btw.
  14. Soup sounds really nice Harley
  15. Hahaaa, i'm not even sure what to say to this. Oh good lordy. This is not helping me want to keep the bumper thats on it...
  16. Yep, i'll just leave this here.
  17. Woooo, over-excessive sized trucks!
  18. Going to be getting a set of stock 'ninja star' wheels for it in a few weeks, will be painting them so I made this comparison collage. The polished silver one is standard. Not sure which one... I'm leaning towards grey, but I like the black and gold one too...
  19. God damn, that thing is huge...
  20. This guy, made of jokes :P
  21. That was scary as. And awesome. I've wanted to try some hardstyle out for a while now...
  22. Oh no no, dont get me wrong, it'll never be FINISHED, but it wont be a project forever.
