1. (I'd have registered here as Heart Foam, but somehow it only worked if my name matched my fb profile. Not a big deal.) Anyway, I do Observatory Dash and Dry Run quite often to test a new car once I've leveled it up. They're short events, and it's a useful benchmark. This isn't my quickest time, got held up by a truck at the start and lost time. I know I've done a 4:13. I'm not sure how fast that is. This was a circuit-spec Viper on Dry Run. I think the time can be beaten, but the goal is to also not crash. Risk vs reward! and all that.
2. I'm sure with supercars, the devs look at what performance the car should have at max level, and then work backwards. There's an awful lot of levels between the basic perf spec and its maximum potential. And because the stock performance is so good in some cars, the baseline for perf spec falls below that. Moral of the story: if the level 526 perf spec LaFerrari is too slow, upgrade it. The game encourages you to do that. I'm guessing the speed limit of perf spec is 400km/h. I've hit 398-ish... in a 370Z. And in a Ruf 3400K.
3. Not a bug, when it's clearly designed that way. The Nissan is the same car everyone gets. But any parts you win cannot be applied to the supplied car, hence the need for a scene showing you arrive in one of your own. There are a few races like that. For the purposes of scoring, it really is a street spec race. View it as a chance to win parts for any street spec car you own, irrespective of level. You absolutely could not be in a fullstock 8C, as pretty as it is, because it can't win any parts. As far as the perf spec tuning goes, it might not be to everyone's taste, but in the real world the Ferrari 599XX is a thing. That exists. (Granted, never with iridescent paint and flames.) And now, so does the FXXK, and there will be an F12XX. So if Ferrari aren't above doing that, then modifying a collection of pixels in the shape of an exotic doesn't worry me too much. I stay away from the eye-watering paint jobs though. My perf-spec silver Miura with red interior is very pretty. And in the unlikely event someone says I've ruined it (I haven't - it's very pretty), I can point out that the fullstock is still there.
4. Yeah. The big fat x in a circle worries me. I'm still hoping for a ludicrous circuit spec Impala. (It seems to cost the same as a Ford GT... so according to that logic it must have some potential?) I guess I'm at the wait and see stage. And faction wars seem to unlock... stuff. That's the incentive. I guess we'll have a better picture soon enough.
5. I've lurked for a bit, but I pre-ordered and will be playing soon. :) But... that youtube video scares me a little. Look at the specs. We've seen the '69 Camaro in raid and circuit spec in trailers and promo videos, but in that youtube video those specs are unavailable. And the R34. And the F150 Raptor. And many others beside. When I pause the video at 0:16, I'm gently horrified. Is there a good explanation for those missing specs? After all, raid and circuit spec show up for the starter cars.
