  1. Also a small update on the pit crew member that got ran over by a P and a PC crashing into each other on the way out of their pit boxes, they've released him from the medical centre, all's okay I think.
  2. Yup, GTLM is great entertainment and the cars are the best looking too. I don't mind the DPs, I just with there was a bigger link with production cars with them, in that I want a homologation special of those corvette DPs etc.
  3. Ooh good game :nods: I'll have to keep an eye out for this, as a lot of people drive down here from central europe/eastern europe. UK cars are quite common even though it's a good 500 miles+ distance to here. Haven't got anything in particular/any photos to add just yet but I'll be on the look out.
  4. Anyone else following Sebring today? I've been flicking it on and off inbetween the rugby games, it's not been pretty good and it should be building to a good finish. We've reached half way point 6h/12h and it's currently under a full-course caution so it's a perfect time to tune in :nods: IMSA | TUDOR United SportsCar Championship
  5. Register to vote - GOV.UK If you haven't already registered to vote, the above link makes it a fairly easy process :nods:
  6. This seems a bit snobbish? You should be able to go to the motorsport event and enjoy yourself without being effected too much by the people nearby. Your loss I guess, as the sport is great fun.
  7. I've been to watch Banger Racing a few times too, it's so awesome. The noise, the actual racing is almost always entertaining and never boring. There's always a crash, that's what everyone wants out of almost every type of motorsport, banger racing never fails. It's a great event to visit too, everyone is friendly, you can walk around the crews and most likely sit in a car or two and speak to the drivers. It's a very chilled thing to go to and not expensive at all :nods: Highly recommend it.
  8. I'm not entirely sold on the red leather, not matter how high the quality or how great the design of the stitching, I think some days I'd sit in the car and love it but some I'd wish i'd gone with something a bit more conservative to be honest. I'd imagine its more expensive, but surely it's harder to sell a car with a red leather interior? :hmmm: Maybe not. I love the Cognac colour leather porsche do.
  9. As much as I understand why some people don't vote, I just think it comes down to a 'oh you didn't vote? what are you moaning about then!' kind of thing. As the amount of people that don't vote for your reason, voting together could make a big impact for example. If national politics don't interest you, have a look into all the candidates standing in your area and perhaps even vote for the least evil person out of them all because that's more likely to impact you than if you vote with milligromit and camerahn in mind. Why? I'm not saying I disagree, just interested in your reasons as to why! --- Post Updated --- Yup, everyone can see that they'd be certain of a majority if they weren't being lead by the person who stabbed his brother in the back. But then again a lot of the issues with Ed tend to be either aesthetically or just his personality, not much to do with his political stance or abilities. Though at the same time, could you imagine him sat at a table with Putin? It's laughable. Though they're on par/slightly ahead of the conservatives I think that's quite good going for the Tories as it's quite often the party in power is much lower, especially one that has put in a fair amount of austerity measures.
  10. The first post asked you to explain why if possible, as I expected these short replies that make any sort of conversation/debate impossible. I've added the political compass test link to the first post though, might be of help to some.
  11. Hey, So the UK General Election will be among us very quickly, it should be taking place at the start of May (the 7th?) 2015. Are you going to vote? If so, for who? why? - Have you always voted for this party? If so, is it about class, family roots, 'i'd never DREAM of voting for those darn ____'? - Do you live in a fairly safe seat, or in a swing constituency? - It's more and more likely that it'll be a hung parliament, who would you want to see in a coalition? If not, why? - Do you feel like your constituency's seat is too certain for your vote to make any kind of difference? - Do you feel too disillusioned with the current politicians? - Do you simply not care at all and can't be arsed thinking why that might be? :p Also, What are your main priorities for the next government? I understand this thread might be boring for most of our international members, but I'm interested in seeing what everyone else is thinking (other than the eugh, politics is boring meh etc). Take the Political Compass test here! Thanks,
  12. I agree that they're often behind but I don't see that as something that's easily fixed. Their main competitors for car reviews are magazines and online publications which cost a lot less to publish and are all year round. I'm not sure this one large season of 10 episodes + 2 specials has worked in that it's been so long since the last season in order for it to be this extra long season. I think the 2 x 6 episode seasons worked much better as it kept the car news and the car reviews much more up to date and fresher.
  13. Dayum, that's called pushing it to the limits  I'd imagine that was a bit closer to the wall than he'd planned to be. Amazing sound for an SUV. The fact it can still go off road (ish) confuses me though, on one hand I'm glad LR are sticking to their brand image and their 'go anywhere' roots, but on the other hand I feel like the car is held back by its need to also be capable off road when anyone buying SVR version is even less likely to take it offroad (especially those that opt for the 22" rims + special tyres) than the already small percentage of RRS owners that do go off roading. The RRS SVR could have been a much meaner and better sporty SUV if it didn't keep that capability. Though I kind of think it's cool that it did? I don't know, i'm stuck 50/50 on this.
  14. I agree. And Chris Harris appears to enjoy having final decision on what he does etc, and you won't get that if you join the monster that is the British Broadcasting Corporation, there'll be about 100,000,000 employees above him making the decisions.
  15. You say that as if I was for him being on TG :p I made it clear that I was against it too.
  16. I live in France so it might be even cheaper. I'll keep it in mind! Sounds like you've had a great time there. And that DBS
  17. I use spotify premium too, if I want to cut down my 4G data usage I do tend to put a lot of my songs into an offline playlist, but as someone who has had similar issues to scott when it comes to updating my phone it means I don't have to delete any of my music, I just have to flick the 'offline' switch off. Though if even more artists go against the trend of allowing their music on Spotify I might start changing my opinion on it.
  18. Wow great post Tob! I haven't even looked at Le Mans tickets, are they expensive? Did you have an 'in'/contact with Beechdean or something, just wondering why you were always with them :p And nice Merc :nods: I'd probably choose Spa out of the 3 F1 choices.
  19. My opinion of Stephen Fry changes frequently, I love him on QI but when he appears on other shows he makes too big a deal of sounding like he swallowed a thesaurus, not every sentence needs 50,000 obscure and rarely used abjectives hun calm down a bit. That and I just think he's too different a character to Jeremy. It'd change the whole dynamic of the show, and I'm not 100% sure how much of a car nut he is really, I bet he barely drives himself. --- Post Updated --- A small update, the inquiry results will be handed into the Boss (Director General Tony Hall I think) of the BBC next week. So we won't be hearing any news too soon I don't think.
  20. Hey, The thread title is quite straight forward, what motorsport events have you been to in your lifetime? Try not to make them too obscure, a meet up of citroen saxo's with huge exhausts in your local tesco car park does not count. I'm thinking of Formula GPs, WRC, Le Mans etc. If you've got any tickets booked to visit some this year then mention that too :) Adieu :duck: Mike.
  21. I don't really know to be honest, any daily [whatever] tends to be crap and that's including the telegraph. A lot of the names been thrown about as a possible replacement for Clarkson (though it's not as if it's the BBC throwing them out so they should for the most part be ignored) seen quite random and like it'll be an opportunistic career boost for someone not that connected to the 'car world'.
  22. It's great living in France too, all my money is in the UK so sending it to my french account has been earning me a fair bit more money recently than it did last year :nods: Though I just see that as a free bottle of prosecco here and there.
