  1. Yeah it was a good episode, the Alfa drift thing went on for way too long and it would have been a good opportunity to throw some other saloons around the track and put them on the board at the same time as the M3 (without showing the actual lap to save time), as I doubt they'll have many cars of that genre in the next 5 episodes.

The Porsche - Lambo thing was what I expect of TG, I just wish they'd finally stop scripting parts that really don't need to be scripted, challenges should be genuine rather than faked (added drama thrown in just to even things out).

    - LeBlanc seems to have finally realised that after almost 15 years of trying his hardest to put Joey behind him, that that's all we want from him and you could see that from this episode, and it worked.

    - Reid hasn't really had the chance to shine yet, still haven't warmed to him.

    - Harris is being portrayed as quite a negative naggy bossy kinda guy which does work well on 15 min youtube videos, but from what I've heard he isn't that bad in person and can be a good laugh, they need to show all three of them having a laugh and bonding in less of a forced environment which is what CHM excelled at.

I agree with you scott, something like a 24H of silverstone race, some endurance racing will show them all in a less forced/scripted environment that is out of their control to some extent and might show them bonding and getting along, it's exactly what they need tbh.

  2. Microphone[/url] My Panamera (Turbo ST) came out on a total of € 272k. Without all the wood and beige that yours has, lol. Yours was more expensive?

My Panamera (4S ST) came up to around £155gbp, about £65k of that is options. Just looked on the NL config and the same car starts at £143k stock  No wonder yours was 100k more. Not sure i'd be bothered too much about getting the Turbo if it came to it, the 4S is plenty quick for an estate haha

  3. Big post, lots to discuss (i hope :toetap:)

  4. Started strong with the FXX K segment and the new studio is a proper car enthusiasts dream. The interview of the guest is always the weakest part I feel despite the new RFC, though McAvoy was alright and had some good chat. Harris needs to tone down the 'angry old man yells at cloud' persona as he seems to forceful at times, and it would be a shame to have people go off him as his pieces and his driving skill are really top drawer stuff.

The main piece of the high-milers had its moments and despite some scripted events, it flowed well enough to not be completely predictable ([spoil]that rear impact was something else![/spoil]), the Volvo sounded amazing after that though so I easily forgot about it. Harris' car developing a certain trait also provided a few moments of comedy. In saying this however, they need to work on their chemistry and banter as it falls down at times and it becomes kind of awkward at parts.

All in all though, a good start and an excellent base to build upon.

Couldn't say it better myself, 100% agree with you on this.

There's simply no need to care about which is better out of TG or TGT anymore, as we should just take for granted that we have 2 high-budget car shows that are worth watching (for the most part).

  5. Yes, that's all I have to say to this, yes.

Of course it wasn't perfect, it will get good reviews, possibly exaggerated over the top reviews, but this trio seem to work well together, although I still haven't completely gotten used to Reid.

This episode was better than a lot of the latest episodes of TGT, it wasn't better than it all, but it has every possibility of overtaking it. I'm glad TG is back, as this had made me realise just how bad some vlog channels are, this completely beats them into submission.

I hope this will give Clarkson, Hammond and May the correct kick up the arse to fix what was wrong with TGT :)

  6. I'm just not sure i'll ever warm to someone who has their nickname embroidered on every single piece of clothing they own. I'm sure he's an alright guy but I just think his content isn't worth watching for a few reasons. A lot of it comes down to how he and a few other vloggers act as if they're really providing an amazing life changing experience to viewers, 'this is for you' etc, it's not, you're getting rich off of it, don't sugar coat it.

Also worth looking at is exactly what @Milli was highlighting in the chatbox a few days back, there are a few suspicious things surrounding the Hurucan Superformante 'ring lap time: BLOG: Did Lambo that laptime? | BridgeToGantry.com

  7. Mike posted about this car one page ago, but the interior photo just don't do justice.

    https://i.ndtvimg.com/i/2017-03/range-rover-velar-dashboard_827x510_71488407638.jpg

This is one of the best interior designs i've seen in a while. It's simple, clean, yet refined and raised the "luxury" bar. Imo.

Agreed. The physical switches on the touchscreen are a fantastic idea, very similar to the way people have physical dials on digital speedometers in some cars. The combination of digital and physical is much better as you then avoid the tacky awfulness that is the interior of any Tesla. I've been very underwhelmed by the interior design of Land Rovers and Range Rovers recently, although the build quality is top notch I just think they've lagged behind in updating anything, this is a huge step in the right direction.

The thing about the Velar is that no one has used the word concept and that it is meant to go on sale this summer, so I presume everything we've seen (including the inset door handles) will be going on the final production version, fingers crossed.

  8. How confident are they in each other?

    Very. Best of friends supposedly.

There is a saying in Premier League football, if a football club comes out and says they have full confidence in the team's manager and support them fully, it usually means that the manager will be sacked within a month. I'm hoping a similar rule applies to Honda here.

The only issue is that these cars are designed so closely around an engine that i'm not sure how feasible it is to put another power unit in it.

  9. Bit unnecessary but that's exactly what you want on a supercar :nods: Nice.

Here are shots of the new RR Velar:

So this is Range Rover's F-Pace, bigger than the Evoque but smaller than the RR Sport. I think i'd take it over either.

This looks amazing. Bloomberg have accidentally broken the embargo on the new 720s not due to be broken until next week.

    y38odp3.jpg

It looks properly special from this angle. I'm unsure i'll like the front headlights but I don't think they'll be enough to ruin the car for me.

  10. I seem to be speaking to myself but on the odd chance anyone else actually reads this thread:

    F1 2017: ¿PodrÃlaa McLaren romper con Honda y usar otro motor? - AS.com

Story in the Spanish press speculating that McLaren could consider dropping Honda ASAP, possibly before the start of the season.

They've had the worst week out of anyone testing their cars by far, Today has been marginally better but they're still around 2-3 seconds off the pace of the front runners. Alonso is not happy.
