  1. Yeah, I agree. How many gas stations are on island? I think I counted 3 lol. The fact that they were detailed enough makes me wonder if they were planning that kind of thing in the beginning but dropped it. They could have simply have made it a cutscene when you stop at one.
  2. Google! Found this place friendly (unlike the Atari EU board) and decided to sign up.
  3. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070722231642.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070727194107.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070727193323.jpg This one was taken a second bore I wiped out lol http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070727193718.jpg And this shot is probably my favourite out of all the ones I've taken so far: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070727200810.jpg
  4. One of the things I've always found odd was the fact that the cars you would deliver for repairs never actually had anything wrong with them. In TDU 2, if they still have those type of challenges, I wish they would give the cars actual malfunctions, like say, misalignment, worn out break pads, overheating, wonky steering, etc. It would give more of a sense of purpose to those missions and more variety instead of simply being point A to point B.
  5. Keyboard. Though I'm saving up for a MOMO. G25 is a tad too expensive for me to be able to consider it. Maybe when the price goes down.
  6. I chose England, but why just England? Why not the whole UK? I think that would make more sense as it would bring more variety.
  7. Well, considering the island is surrounded by water (wow, an island surrounded by water, who would have thought! lol), I find it lame how the game just resets you if you touch the water. A better way would be for you to bounce off of it and skip like a stone before sinking or have big waves suddenly appear to throw you back into the game ;)
  8. Tough call since I haven't owned that many cars yet, but I'll have to say the AC 289. That car is one little beast of a monster for the class that it's in, especially when you tune it up to stage 3. Sure, the Lamborghini Muira has a higher top speed, but a slower acceleration. The AC 289 leaves it in the dust as far as acceleration is concerned. It's how I won The Improv the first time around. Just requires a lot of concentration in order to not crash into any traffic. Plus, I find it's one of the few cars in the game that truly give you a sensation of speed since the cockpit is so small, and in open air. You get to see more of the road in front and on your side, helping you with the illusion of speed. Its light weight makes it quick and nimble.
  9. You have a better videocard than I do, I can tell right off the bat, hehe. I have a GeForce 6800GS. Those are just beautiful. I've driven for quite awhile these past few days and I'm not sure why, but I'm just not getting those beautiful skies like I used to, and I do spend hours in the game, so it isn't like I'm not spending enough time to be able to see them. Maybe it's just down to my luck lol. Still, those shots of yours are awesome.
  10. Window shopping does not mean Window Crashing :P http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070716202122.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070716203921.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070716204151.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070716204340.jpg This next one almost looks like an advertisement in a magazine: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070719222259.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070719222531.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070719222950.jpg And the last one is a Skyline racing towards the sun... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070719230313.jpg
  11. Oh, I agree with you. In fact, I'd get the same effect as your sig in some places depending on the position of the sun, which makes sense. Other times, I'd get a nice deep blue sky. Now I don't even get the deep blue sky anymore. Here's what I'm talking about pre-patch: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070713192938.jpg I'll have to take a shot of what I do see now, but it's similar to your sig. There's no detail in the sky. Similar to this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070712235717.jpg That's still pre-patch, but you get the idea. Now I seem to get that all the time.
  12. Not to the point where it washes out everything else because it's so bright. There needs to be a better balance, like it was before. For example, my sky was a darker blue with HDR turned on before the patch; with the patch, all the detail and the contrast between the sky is blown out. The sky is now a very light blue as compared to a darker blue, almost like overexposure in photomode.
  13. I'd like to add something that I didn't notice at first. I've had HDR on before the patch, and I can see quite a difference. It seems that everything affected by HDR, like the sky is much too bright. I can see it the most when I'm heading towards the shore in Honolulu. It's like the saturation is overblown and it almost blinds me. I think I need to start wearing sunglasses while playing this game.
  14. Reboot your computer. Happened to me. Sometimes it doesn't get initialized properly.
  15. Well, for what it's worth, I don't have an 8 series card, but a 6800GS, and beside the problem I've posted, I haven't had any other problems. Mostly smooth sailing. Oh yeah, the volume issue. That was actually a feature, go figure. I actually loved the loudness of the bass in the game when I first started the game up. While I had to adjust things to lower the volume, I just loved it because it made the engines have "punch" to them and I think that's part of why the sound was so good. When I started the game up after the patch, I felt the sound was very weak at the same levels I had previously set, so I had to max everything to even get it to a respectable level. Apparently this is all due to people complaining about the loudness of the bass. Well, some people do have good sound systems and love to show off :P I'm sure some people down the street have wondered where the car noises were coming from because they sounded so real lol. I kept expecting the cops to knock at the door to tell me to turn things down. Now though, even at max, it seems not quite loud enough. Another thing, and this isn't a complaint, but I'm wondering if I'm the only one to notice some change in the physics of the cars, and for the better I might add. I'm not sure if it's just the car I decided to start out with, but I'm feeling the car handles better around corners, less rigidly. I decided to start a new game after the patch (Oh, yes, I didn't mention that I was actually able to just continue my game, did I?), and chose the Alfa Romeo as my starting car instead of the Skyline, and I'm finding the handling better, or maybe it's just a better overall car? Am I nuts to think that the physics have improved?
  16. Well, I was driving all around the island in order to visit each of the showrooms when I encountered a crash on my way to the Paganini showroom. It grinded to a halt, and I thought it would be Ok as sometimes it can slow down a bit and then recover. But it just ground to a halt . Tried to alt-tab in order to close it as it wasn't doing anything, and my PC froze, so I reset my computer which at the time was the only thing I could do. Upon rebooting and trying to load up the game, I got a SecureRom error. Rebooting again solved the problem.
  17. Hey everyone, I'm new here, and here's my first contribution: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070712214405.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070712214547.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070712225548.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070712225812.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070712235717.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070712235402.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070713192730.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070713192938.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070713192832.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070713193608.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/tricorder/TDU/20070713202938.jpg
