  1. Just allows you to see 69FPS. Some also say it improves their contrast in game. Worked ok for me but I had to put it back down so that the Elgato can record gameplay.
  2. Most normal LCD displays operate at 60Hz. Gaming ones may support 120Hz. If you have an nVidia graphics card, and you often exceed 60FPS in your games, you might try creating a custom monitor profile in a nVidia Control Panel. Basically just keep increasing the Refresh Rate by 1 (click No at the Test Successful screen) until you get an Out of Range error on your screen. Then go back one and save that as your custom resolution, select it and hit Apply. I was able to reach 69Hz, which is a 15% improvement. Some games may ignore your your custom profile, using their own hard-coded checks. I'm not responsible if you blow your 4K TV up. :)
  3. I think we can all agree that the weirdest ones have Administrator badges. :cheeky: :hiya:
  4. They should make part of the online reaction service available to real muso's with real instruments.
  5. Ok den. You have to host it, though.
  6. :boom: I didn't want to build a whole new PC just yet so I did the next best thing. GTX 680 4GB FTW Edition to a bog standard Titan X... doubled my FPS and score. :woot:
  7. Do you know if they were offering only Steam keys or other platforms as well?
  8. You can find the answer in one of the recent articles on Project CARS WMD Portal (you'll have to scroll down and click More).
  9. Follow the links in the OP. Red Bull (PC/Steam) one is easy enough. I don't have a Facebook login so can't help with the Renault one. Not sure what platform it is.
  10. From your post, it seems like video rendering won't be a day to day occurrence, so I'd save some money by getting the i5. You can't afford custom watercooling, but something like a Corsair H80 is relatively cheap, low maintenance, and great for CPU temps. UEFI BIOS setups on ASUS mainboards have 'suggested' overclocking profiles which makes things pretty easy. I've had my 3570K overclocked at 4.1GHz for most of its life with no issue. I just wish I had gone with the i7 at the time because Sony Vegas seems to take longer to render compared to my old Q9550 system.
  11. Anyone registered?
  12. Two good options there so I won't confuse you by trying to come up with a third. One thing to note: Core i5's are good for gaming, but if you're into video rendering, then Core i7 will net you a noticeable increase in rendering times. Newer AAA games are also getting good at making use of any extra threads your CPU may have, so that could change.
  13. You're not kidding; it took you an hour to react to that post. ^
  14. Yep I've got the normal one with the Tab S.
  15. ... and you always seem to be on Steam 20 minutes ago. Jeans are standard cut
  16. Yeah an i8 is kinda exclusive but also kinda normal so you'll probably come up against a mixed bag of owners. If you owned a supercar you must surely realise that the government can also search by make/model/colour and not just by the ID plate.
  17. How much is a 970 over there? Building a PC is really easy compared to some of the other technical stuff you get up to. Link us to a few nearby PC parts shops and I may be able to have a look later.
  18. I didn't really get to see either device, I just went in, told them which variant I was interested in (Black 64GB Edge) and we proceeded upstairs to switch my service over. Started playing with it later when I got back to work and the S3 lost service. I can't really compare battery life to the S5, plus with the first few days you tend to use the device more than normal so I can't say too much on it. One thing that does annoy me is that the included 'fast charge adapter' is too darn fast. I'd normally chuck the phone on charge at night then pull it off in the morning, but this thing will give me 50% extra battery in something ridiculous like 20 minutes. So I may revert to slow overnight charging by connecting it to my PC (which any of my active Steam friends can tell you is on 24/7). Couple of points so far: Dragging icons from one home screen to another seems easier with the defined edges, Pressing buttons on the edges sometimes takes a couple of attempts. I really miss the dedicated menu button on the left of the physical home button, which is now a multi-view/recent apps task switcher doodad. I'm sure there will be an app to change it back to my preference sooner than later (haven't looked yet). Who uses back pockets these days? This isn't the 80's. Need my blender for daily smoothies, so I'll leave that to the experts.
  19. Yep, but being my first glass phone I'm finding it a slippery little sucker. Survived it's first drop test initiation tonight with flying colours. Can't even put it on my leg/lap when sitting as it just slides straight off. All of the 'edge' apps/novelties are turned off by default - haven't even gone looking for them yet, but let's be honest - we'd only get the edge because it looks purty. :)
  20. Has a handy rc feature called SideSync 3
  21. Hi zednem. Extra slots in TDU is a recent development, so your best bet may to participate in that thread and work with the mod author.
  22. Will schedule a TD SMP for this when the build hits us.
  23. I'm out for dinner tonight otherwise I'd say jump in the steam chatbox and we'll pick a pc game to play. What happened to all the Xbone players anyway? Week 3 has now been changed to Battleship. Take on Anders and Camel. If they're around.
  24. It appears that there may be a few giveaways for Project CARS. If you see any in your travels feel free to post them here! Renault Sport are giving away 60 copies of Project CARS via a competition on their Facebook page. Red Bull have 10 Steam keys to giveaway.
  25. It's Stew's turn to host something on Xbox One.
