  1. Who cares? Release dates on various websites mean absolutely nothing until the game publishers announce a release date
  2. Has anyone made it available to download yet (w/o having to register)?
  3. I don't think it's going to be as bad you're all making it out to be. Sure, it might take a while before you can drive a certain exclusive car, but after some time when the excitement has worn off, I'm sure it'll be easy to get a hold of them. PC users will probably be able to swap them for other cars. Plus, if I join a club with a bunch of people from the UK, I should be able to sneak into the club garage while everyone else is sleeping. Considering that the exclusive cars of TDU1 were only available to a select number of players only, this is a step in the right direction.
  4. Have a look on page 23 - links to it were there a few times. It's also at the bottom of the first post now (it'll stand out more when a YouTube version is available to embed, hint hint) I have to agree with the others that are -slightly- disappointed. None of my driving bones are tickled (I could've worded that better (or worse, I guess (thinking of James May's fizzy...))). Time to update my wishlist to request the music to be dimmed down, drivers seat view, proper physics and engine noises, as if I was actually driving in the game). If you want to see something specific in the next trailer, you might consider posting it in this thread (one post per member)
  5. If anyone wants to discuss damage further, please do it in one of the threads that are already discussing this topic i.e. http://forum.turboduck.net/showthread.php?t=18689
  6. Windows 7 lets you have multiple clocks in your system tray (there's obviously going to be similar 3rd party apps too). I've got my own Aussie (GMT+10) clock, London, and East America. Yeah, I just use west/central/east as I don't know what PDT and all that other jazz refers to. I use the -12+/-x system to keep track of what the time is elsewhere. It's 11.10am Friday here. For London, I go -12 + 3 = 11+3 = it must be 2.10am there. For New York, I go -12-2 = 11-2, it must be 9.10pm there.
  7. Easy to read text image thingos are moved to the first post now
  8. I won't do a transcription per se this time, but I am working on something to make it easier to read. If it's ok with you Tom, I'll put it straight in your top post to save time and bandwidth. I'll wait for you to get back to me regarding that...
  9. Yeah, I was more interested in the movement of the sun than anything else
  10. I think that had something to do with the Ab-load.de thing as well
  11. I had to buy the cable separately. They charge $50 for it. I already had a HDMI cable at home, but I needed the audio adapter.
  12. From http://householdname.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/01/photographys-longest-exposure.html (Click the link to view the photo - too big to embed here)
  13. I don't buy games off the shelf. You can save ~50% by buying them new from Ebay stores in Honk Kong, etc. Some stores ship very quickly as well. I said a few posts ago that I prefer the 360 for gaming. A few posts before that I said that the PS3's advantage is only in the form of its hardware. There's also a small difference between buying the cheapest generic BluRay player you can find, and getting one from a company like Sony. $7 per month for Xbox Live Gold might not sound like a lot, but if you got the console from day one, and don't upgrade to their 8th gen console for 10 years, then that becomes $840, which is... a lot. But as all of you can confirm, the online features of Live are miles ahead of the PS service. It would be nice if basic multiplayer functionality was free, though.
  14. They must've added HDMI to the Arcade when they phased out the Pro model. Makes sense I guess, but then why is the Elite so much more expensive that the arcade if the main (or only) difference between the two (besides colour) is a $60 HDD (of course, MS would have you believe that it costs a lot more than that, pfft).
  15. What if you're Australian though? ;) I guess it'll be here either Friday or Monday
  16. Didn't mean to stir anyone up. I meant that you didn't have to try to convert me to buy a different console... Australia only has 2 models of the 360. The arcade has a 20gb HDD (or none at all, can't remember) and doesn't have HDMI. I prefer the 360 as a gaming machine. I still think it's overpriced though.
  17. I think we've confirmed that the PS3 is a better pirce of hardware compared to the 360, and that Microsoft's software is better than what is essentially Linux/Unix). I bought a XBOX 360 Elite bundle, and by the time I purchased the extra HD AV pack and WiFi (which are part of the PS3), I had spent more money on the 360 than the price of the PS3. Oh, and then I had to buy the 12 month Gold subscription. Only the 360 Arcade version is price effective, but I don't really view it as a 7th Gen console since it lacks HDMI. I already own both consoles and a high end PC, so I don't need anyone replying to me and telling me that I'm wrong :)
  18. Are you a part of the closed beta process? Did you play the game much? What did you think? I got in once or twice with only a couple of iO-Enabled Mini Coopers on track, who weren't racing at the time, and besides that it seems exactly like every other Race 07 - based game/addon (same graphics and physics, just a different menu skin and music basically). It's noble of them to play with this concept, but it doesn't really seem to work too well. You're just racing a ghost car basically.
  19. Any idea why my gamertag shows up in some foreign European language?
  20. Just a little suggestion. When you reply to a topic, you can click a link to see More Smilies, and they come up in a popup window. Well, I was thinking that somewhere in the top banner section of each page should include a link to a similar popup window, with generic information and reminders. You're halfway through writing a post, you go to embed an image, and then you stop and think: "What's the limit for these pictures again?" "Where is the Rules thread again... better open a new tab and go find it... reads through the thread... oh ok, 800x600, 350KB" This little popup would concisely list rules, restrictions, links to templates and other information that can be forgotten after a while. I fpossible, it could also have a section that only the staff can see, ni case they forget how to post a mod cat picture or something
  21. I'm glad you don't play on the PC What am I saying, you don't have to worry about idiots who use hacks to drive at 500mph
  22. From what I've heard, some members were using a trick to prevent the inbuilt systems here from being able to read the size of the image.
  23. Really tough call between Variodical and Mike, but I'll give the vote to Mike.
  24. Congrats on getting to 100 (although some were a bit weird or more suited to a passenger camera for a GTA game). :locked:
