  1. Thats the most retarded statement I've heard in a long time. How on earth can my computer be slower if it doesn't have a program on it??? And you are obviously ignoring the fact that my computer isn't slow at all, as I actually do have plenty of common sense. I have had one 'virus' in the past 2 years, and that took about 2 seconds to stop and remove - and even if I'd have left it, it wouldn't have done any damage anyway. So smooth comeback there.
  2. Well it isn't a Venturi...
  3. Wheels look Fordish, but I really have no clue.
  4. My entry: My *ahem* house.
  5. AVG Sucks. Norton sucks IMMENSELY. I use my common sense. It works so much better than anything else.
  6. You actually posted your entry an hour and 45 minutes AFTER I'd made the voting thread.
  7. You seem to have done well for yourself at just 17! Seriously though - how do you get such good cars to photograph? And do you have any tips or tricks for someone like me...who is just sort of starting off... Thanks and amazing work!
  8. Voted for Safiro. Don't know why you darkened the whole picture though.
  9. Saw a Viper when coming home from school today. Epically rare in the UK! Immense car that.
  10. I maybe would have increased the f a bit, to darken down that overexposed sky out the back, and maybe pointed the camera slightly to the right (rule of thirds). But thats just constructive criticism. Excellent shot!
  11. You can resize it or have exactly zero chance of being entered. I'm sure you read Bob's post. And also - I am not in a good mood at this point in my life, so when I say 800x600, I mean 800x600. Max. 800x601, no thanks.
  12. WEEK ELEVEN Rules: Photo MUST be taken by you No huge amounts of photoshop - brightness/contrast and curves, borders etc are allowed, but don't go over the top. Anybody who does (anyone can point out what they may think as such photoshopping) can be disqualified. No Voting for yourself! Photo sizes kept to 800x600 maximum. No thumbnails with larger photos please. Your photo will not be entered if it exceeds this. Winner chooses next theme (by PMing me). If someone wins twice in a row, the person they voted for chooses the next theme. If you post many photos, the top one will be chosen as your entry, but you have until the closing date to choose. Photos cannot be used twice for two different subjects. Tell me if I've missed anything, thanks! Congratulations to Car Freak for stylishly winning last week! However as this was his second week in a row winning, the person who he voted for chooses the next theme, which was Wait30Seconds... This week's theme: Buildings Make them look loud, proud and just plain awesome. Closing Date: 16th November. Good luck! Entrants: 1) Pressurized 2) Koenigsegg 3) Extreme Flatulence 4) Turkey Twizzler 5) Car Freak 6) RB26DETT 7) mistermojo 8) Speedtouch 9) GalyPoland 10) SLRRR 11) zo6dude 12) 13) 14) 15)
  13. I totally forgot about this too. Car Freak won last week, so, as with PTOTW, the person who chooses next week's theme is the person he voted for, which was TSS. Still congrats to Car Freak for a brilliant picture! (I'm sorry I forgot)
  14. I totally forgot about this. Car Freak - come up with a new theme and PM me please! I've PMed you just to make sure!
  15. Episode 2: Starting off with the Fiat. This review lacked a little something. Only a little bit - but it reminds me of why Top gear don't do small/affordable car reviews anymore because (are you listening you idiots who whine that there aren't enough factual reviews in the show, because I'm only going to say this once...) they aren't very good at them anymore. The LP560-4 is all well and good, because its what Top Gear do, but the 500 just felt a little too small for this big time show (if you get what I mean). An OK review it was, but it did feel a bit too much like Fifth Gear for some reason. The American Muscle cars however were much better. Introducing what TG is all about - mucking about while trying to look intelligent. I must say it felt much more factual than normal - and I don't mean that in a bad way... They really did portray the 3 cars as proper, brash, fun supercars. For the first time in my life, I actually want a Corvette, a Challenger, or a Cadillac (I've always been a Viper and Charger boy). And to add insult to my injury - I actually want to go to America! (Well, only the large expanse of desert bit. I like my being alone). It was however, entertaining. Brilliantly entertaining. I'm afraid they will have to be chased and killed by Bruce Willis. There usually is a certain let down feeling after one of these huge films that takes up almost the whole show (the specials are fine, because they are supposed to be specially long) - During the show its all brilliant, then when it ends, you feel as if you went to London's new year celebrations, then they set off five of the biggest fireworks in the world, then told you that was it and to go home... However this did not feel like this. It felt much more complete and fun. I was left with no urge for more afterwards. And on the salt flats - there was a moment of rawness - a moment of the sense that this bit wasn't entirely set up filming wise (when they all recieved their winning speeds). I liked it a lot. As did I Jeremys awesome drifting around the mountain roads. I was wondering - who thinks that Richard actually DID buy that Challenger, and if so, what happened to it. The lack of any other reference to it lead me to believe that they just pretended that Chrysler didn't lend them one. The news was OK. A bit short, and just a news section really. Not all the usual randomness that tends to turn up, and no surprises of any kind. Left me feeling (I hate using this word) empty. About turn when the SIARPC comes on. I wasn't really looking forward to Will Young. Hes always been in the Pop Idol/XFactor/some other rubbish TV show limelight. But somehow they managed an enjoable interview that didn't end in me wanting to kill them all (what usually happens when I see Will Young). And I would just like to say that there are actually 2 people who watch all the reruns on Dave - I do too!!! Overall, it was let down at the start a bit, but picked up from then on. It didn't leave me hanging at the end, surprised me throughout, and gave me a chance to perhaps change my ways. Although if you put the two in front of me, I'd still have the Viper over the Corvette. 8/10.
  16. Happy birthday! Have fun...!
  17. I've seen it before but the name has gone. ARGH! EDIT: Too late to fail :p
  18. While I was cycling home today (past the Maranello garage of course - at closing time) - a Ferrari 599, Aston V8 and Lotus Esprit all roared past. Excellent.
  19. -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- HDR from the top of my local church's tower - the house pictured (yes, that is just one house, not a national trust place) is owned by Guy Hands - he has to be commended though. He bought it as a run down old college, and spend reportedly £40million on it. It really is beautiful. My house is approximately at the very right hand edge of the photo in the middle (you can't see it - too many trees)
  20. I can't seem to get it to record sound. I'll have to go and test things out. That is of course when I have some free time...which isn't often anymore :( Work and schoolwork take it all up.
  21. I think that'll be a win then. TSS did well coming second, but what a winner. I'll change the threads tomorrow, but Car Freak, can you start thinking about a theme please? :D I think it would be nice to have something different next time.
  22. Don't go to Dundee... David's there remember. Other than that - go to open days. They really do help (I've been to 2 already). It gives you an idea of the place if its a city centre campus and some places you really just don't like from the start. It can be a way to travel, but if you can go to open days, then do.
  23. Thanks. Ill change the rules for PhOTW again next week. And be more angry. I will happily do a contest with only 2 entrants because everyone else can't post an image small enough.
  24. I walk past this every day when I go to school. Sometimes he is moving it when I am there (to turn round, instead of doing a 3 point turn, he floors it up the road to a tiny roundabout) - VERY nice V8 growl. [Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG] I would have a photo of a new Mustang GT500 (VERY rare in the UK) in Red with White stripes, which is just up the road, but they had it under a cover. Yes I live in an expensive part of an expensive part of the country. No I am not rich. Also saw/heard an Aston V8 roar away from the station, and in the car park (every day) there is a V8, DB9, 5 911s of different types, a couple of 6-series', S500, multiple Rangeys and Cayennes etc etc etc.
  25. Let me think about this... No.
