  1. Saw a '96 Impala SS the other day and a couple of miles on down the road I saw a Cadillac Escalade with a rather small looking woman driving it which looked quite funny... or it may have been the car making her look small :p
  2. Well, I bought the 55-250mm in the end. Went on to Amazon today and for some reason the website started showing me a Canon 55-250mm for £116 which I thought was a pretty hefty discount to make in less than a week until I realised they'd gone for their cheapest supplier who is based in the U.S., I didn't really fancy taking a punt with that so just bought it for the original £155 and also decided to get a Hoya UV filter while I was at it. No doubt it'll get delivered after 10:30AM on any given week day when I'm not here and it won't be the Royal Fail delivering it either.
  3. Some good old Fear Factory, well not old because it's their newest album :p Probably posted it before, but I don't care because it's freakin' sweet. Quite depressing though really.
  4. Thanks for the replies. I think the Canon 55-250 will probably be my next purchase then in the next week or two, although I'll have a look at the Sigma 70-300 if I get a quiet day at work this week so I can doss about on the internet all afternoon :p

  6. Pretty damn sure I saw an Aston Martin Virage the other day, I don't even know if they're out yet but I saw an Aston Martin with differently shaped front lights and stupid Christmas tree lights up the one side of them so assumed it was a Virage after seeing a picture of one in Auto Express. Also saw a 2011 Nissan GT-R with the stupid Christmas tree lights in the front bumper as well.
  7. Why I uploaded this to Flickr in it's full size I'll never know. I don't think I've entered it, but if I have I'll change it. Sunset Over the Forest of Dean #2 by GTAMADDOG, on Flickr
  8. Can't have done anything much worse than what I did a year or two ago on here. I won't bring that back to light though because that was a pretty dark day for numerous reasons.
  9. Right, so I finally bought a DSLR (500D) a couple of weeks ago and although the 18-55mm kit lens seems good enough for taking photographs of things which are near to me I am starting to miss the zooming capabilities of my FZ38 with it's 18x optical zoom. Therefore, I'm after some recommendations for zoom lenses. I've looked around on Jessops and found Tamron 70-300mm lens which I was very close to buying and collecting from my nearest store today because I'm probably going for a walk tomorrow and I'm not sure if I'll get on too well with the limited zoom on the kit lens, but after looking around on some other forums and at some of the reviews I'm not sure if it's a wise purchase or not, even despite it's price. People on other forums seem to suggest the Canon 55-250mm IS lens is a good addition to a kit lens and is a good zoom lens as well, they don't rate the Tamron or Sigma lenses too much though which put me off the Tamron lens I found. The Canon 55-250mm IS is £230 on Jessops and as much as I'd like to get a lens today ready for tomorrow I don't fancy paying that much for it after I've seen it on Amazon for £156. Now I look at Amazon I see there are quite a few other Canon zoom lenses on there for under £200 which is about as much as I want to spend really. I'm not saving up for a (used) Canon L lens because I'm not a good enough photographer to warrant buying one of those or anything much over £200 truth be told. Keeping in mind I do need a lens for rallying and other motorsports at some point in the near future. Should I get the Canon 55-250mm IS lens or are there any lenses I've missed? Or, am I an idiot? Which I'd probably say yes to :p
  10. Oh, I do love Maryland Chocolate Chip Cookies...
  11. This is my feel good music, whether it's intended to be feel good music or not, I don't know :p I don't think this band can make a song I don't like in one way or another, apart from Sex on Fire, I don't know why they released that for radio play instead of another song off Only By The Night because it's no-where near as good as the others.
  12. Lold: http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x104/GTAMADDOG/dirt3record.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x104/GTAMADDOG/dirt3record2.jpg May have cut a corner or two (infact the previous WR one was as well and I followed him, lol), one quite substantially (and by accident I must add, I was pressing on quite a bit after I saw the WR Ghost Car behind me and understeered straight up a bank and down the other side :p) and I didn't think I'd get away with it without being reset to the track, but it let me carry on and there I am.
  13. One thing I do like is how the AI does actually make mistakes by themselves and quite often from my point of view, just uploaded this from a race in season 2:
  14. Bought it off Steam yesterday after a lot of thinking because I never want to spend any money believe it or not. It's good, but the lower difficulties are a little too easy. I'm playing it on five with no driving assists and it's still easy for the most part. The location/track count is pretty rubbish. Finland, Norway and Kenya, good enough but the tracks are pretty similar. Was I wrong to be expecting more locations from the WRC even if they weren't real tracks? Probably. Car list is alright, I do love rallying in the Opel Manta. Trailblazing is also pretty fun and the cars sound good.
  15. Not as special as the rest of the photos on this page but these are the first photographs taken on my 500D. First two were anyway, I opened the box, fired her up and went straight to the cat because it hardly moves so it gave me chance to try out manual focusing, etc. IMG_0085 by GTAMADDOG, on Flickr IMG_0087 by GTAMADDOG, on Flickr And one my sister managed to take. I don't even know how she's worked out how to use the camera already as she's used to pressing a button and the camera doing all the work  IMG_0101 by GTAMADDOG, on Flickr Not entirely in focus but I thought it was a nice shot anyway.
  16. I may have been spending my money again... http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x104/GTAMADDOG/P1020871.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x104/GTAMADDOG/P1020867.jpg According to London Camera Exchange's website it's meant to be an ex-demonstration camera so I was expecting a few marks due to the quite largely reduced price but there's not a single mark on it or the packaging :D It isn't the IS kit lens (EF-S 18-55mm MKII), but it doesn't seem too bad at all, well I don't have anything to compare it to so I don't know. I plan on buying and using another lens instead when I can afford one, I think I'll cope for now.
  17. :/ Only posted a video in "What Are You Listening To?" last night using the old method and it worked. Oh well, will see about sorting it out :p [Mod Edit:]Please do not quote videos, Thanks!
  18. Lol... Don't even know if it's showing up. Looks like a big blank space on my screen so here's a link:
  19. Ignored this album for quite a long time while people kept praising it endlessly. Then I gave it a listen, then I kicked myself for not getting it sooner. British bands generally kick arse, but the world knows that already.
  20. Bought a Canon EOS 500D from London Camera Exhange's website. All was well until they decided to use City Link to deliver my camera instead of Royal Fail (They said they use both) which would've been much prefered seeing as City Link only ever deliver around here after 12PM (when no-one's at home), the nearest City Link depot is 25 miles away and I have no way of getting to it. Where as if they'd chosen Royal Fail I could've gone to their depot a couple of miles down the road and got it if they didn't deliver it while I was at home. I would like my new camera before Friday when my dad goes on his super-car experience day :/
  21. Saw that video ages ago. Didn't realise the engine was going to be so loud so I didn't turn the volume down. Scared me half to death when he fired it up, lol. This Supra tickles my fancy as well.
  22. There are some funny crashes in this video, namely the Vauxhall Astra that comes around a corner sideways fine but somehow ends up going backwards before he exits the corner. Also some funny laughing which sounds like it belongs to a mentally unstable person (5:10 is a prime example), but that's rallying for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5NEnwp13g4
  23. Cheated and went to Silverstone today so it was inevitable that I'd see something decent. 24. Went to Silverstone today, had another quick go at panning, made it worse for myself by standing behind a fence.
