  1. Just in case your question was targeted at me: I do not mean anything. I just did the translation, nothing else. :) Anyway, i've taken a look at the magazine scans at tdu-c.de. Here are a few more bits and pieces i could pick up: The story will be more "exciting" than in TDU1. The story had influence on the decision towards Ibiza as location. This bit is from the interview with the Eden Games producer (Last page, bottom). However, that's all she says about it, she reveals no details. You get Discovery Points for discovering roads, dealers etc. The weather will affect the car's handling. Rainy weather = slippery roads. Overall the article is not very impressive. I think it contains 20% about TDU1, 20% gibberisch, 20% speculation, 20% unconfirmed facts, which leaves 20% real facts. Still, thanks to drivefast from tdu-c.de for the scans.
  2. Here's a quick and dirty translation. I'll leave out the opinions and speculations, and try to summarize the facts. No disrespect to drivefast (the author of the tdu-c.de article) intended. Just pure CarlosVega laziness. There will definitely be a story, however, there are no details known yet. The length of the roads will be 930 km and the offroad tracks will be 310 km. The island's size will be 381 km². There is a picture of the island map on which you can spot some of the roads, as well as towns and villages. (He's refering to the map picture in the magazine) You can earn points in free ride mode by performing difficult manoeuvres (e.g. drifting) or by driving at high speed. The earned points are displayed in a progress bar. When you crash, the points are lost. You can race versus friends from the enhanced friend list, for which you will gain points as well. Offroad, it will be possible to discover car wrecks. Discovering car wrecks will unlock exclusive vehicles at the car dealers. There will be optical damage only. The damage will have no affect on the vehicle's performance or handling. On the other hand the damage does not cost anything, because there will be no car repairs. The cars will be more detailed, but the environment probably not. Release is planned for the third quarter of 2010. I hope this is a bit more understandable than the Google translation.

  6. Magic map required - that's clear so far. But, the fact that the game accepts larger textures is interesting to know. Seriously. Thanks for that information. I guess that's because those billboards are used for ingame advertising. When you are online, the game downloads images (which sometimes can be ads) from the server. In offline mode this will probably not happen. Someone please correct me if i'm wrong.
  7. That looks very, very good. If i understand you correctly, you replace the textures with other textures which are 3 times the size of the original ones? And the game still applies them with no problems? Is that correct?

While creating this mod i encountered a technical issue with importing the DB2 files into the BNK files. I had to use certain workarounds to get it done.   11. Thanks for looking into it, Djey. I wasn't sure whether it was me or the Tools - until your replied. By the way, if this is any help, TDU does not crash when i replace the files with the old BNK Editor 1.0. I just have to make sure that the files size is smaller or equal. Again, thanks for everything. :)
  12. I think that's not his point. With manual clutch, changing gear is much faster than with auto clutch, which makes a difference in races. So he wants auto clutch to be as fast as manual clutch.

  15. Hi Djey, i'd like to report a possible bug. I don't get an error message or a crash in TDU Modding Tools and when i set debug mode on, the log file is empty. So the problem is not within TDU Modding Tools, it rather seems to me that there is something wrong with the file modifications written by TDU Modding Tools. I'll try to describe the issue as exact as possible: I worked on a new texture mode. After replacing the original 2db file with the new one, TDU always crashed. I looked hard at my files (DDS etc.), but couldn't find any mistake. So i tried to find the problem by using a systematic apporach. I did several tests by extracting and repacing files and found something strange at last: When i extract any 2DB file from the original "Bnk\Interior\LPH_L3B.bnk" and then re-import the same file again (Replace >> Keep name), TDU crashes. I used the latest version 1.13. Never had such problems before, so the issue may be isolated to certain files, maybe the "Interior" files only. Thanks in advance for looking at the issue. If you need more information, just let me know.

The corresponding TDU sound files are all the same. Just rename the downloaded sound mod file to "C6_Conv_audio.bnk". C6_Conv_audio.bnk = C6 Convertible C6_Cpe_audio.bnk = C6 Coupe C6_Z06_audio.bnk = Z06

  18. I started the game first, then hex-edited the race (data_dfe_14a46ff2d71c3e3073724055e0ee4eeb), started the race with a C-class car and finished the race. I did this several times by now with all classes down to F, with no problems. No, i started the game first, then edited the file. Thats important, because when i start the game all races are reset. You don't have to do this, really. It seems that i am the only one so far, having no "TDU/Euro/Bnk/IGE" folder. Also, as metioned before, TDU shows some strange behaviour when i replace a data_dfe file while the game is running. See my previous post, last answer.
  19. Sure, that's because the whole game was developed by a french company. ;) Sure, that's exactly what i did a few days ago, as metioned in my post #5. Yes, i tried that too (again, a few days ago). But then somehow the races got screwed up. Can't remember exactly what was wrong then, but it kinda scared me, so i didn't pursue it any further. :D And, to be honest, this method is not really comfortable. ;)
