  1. Yay, got the voting right for the first time. Haha.
  2. What's the point of those "exclusive" Q&A's when they answer in typical "dunno yet, later later!" fashion. Nothing new has been said about this game for a long time. I sincerely hope they'll decide to add a photomode, hell why they are even thinking about it!
  3. Are you guys playing AC on keyboard? If so, how is it?
  4. Doesn't DSG & throttle adaptation reset itself by disconnecting the battery maybe? With newer BMW's it is that they draw the battery pretty much a lot when they're shut off, so after a few weeks you can't start your car. And you need to bring the car to dealership to replace the battery unless you're a coding master and did find a battery with OEM specification. Glad it's now running, Santtu. And good job working on it yourself!
  5. Damn, going to the beach in December and no snow must be nice. :( Looks like a day well spent, Ry.
  6. As cis said, the frequency of MOTs differs in Europe. But it is basically the same, with differences max. 1 year or so. I know that in Bundesrepublik Deutschland the Hauptuntersuchung (:cheeky:) for a brand new vehicle is after 3 years and then every 2 years. Here in the Czech Rep. it is not much different: Vehicles under 3,500 kg: if brand new, first MOT is after 4 years; then every 2 years Vehicles over 3,500 kg: every year There are change made basically every year in Germany. For example, they will start testing ESP lights in 2015 due to new EU automotive regulations. As for strictness, well, I have never had the pleasure to be at MOT in Germany, but I know some German stance kids have problems from time to time for being too low or poking to much. And FYI, rims on your car need to be approved accordingly so replica wheels without TÜV cerftificates are forbidden. At least European vehicles do come with tinted windows from factory already - even windscreens are tinted to 80% (BMW). The glass itself is darker, it's not just film. That is why Benzes have a blue tint, for instance. Factory tints are about 20 to 25% on BMWs and Mercs (so 75-80% of light allowed to shine through the glass). And there is privacy glass option which is used on side and back windows on many vehicles of any make. BMW also has Climate comfort windscreen (looks a bit purple) and windows Again, whether you can put tint films on side windows (driver's and passenger's) or not depends on the laws of each country. No clue how it is in the States, in Cali front windows should stay clear even from factory. In the Czech it is allowed for all windows except windscreen. Max. 75% of light into cabin on windscreen (that means you can't put anything on it as it is basically factory tint percentage) and 70% of light into cabin on driver's and passenger's windows. You can have whatever tints on other windows. Remember, you can't put tints on already factory tinted windows (privacy glass). I'm not sure how it is with climate comfort windows.
  7. At a MOT test centre today, here doing the emissions: Of course I put a blanket on the seat before the workers sat in the car: Overall check, lighting, brakes, VIN code etc.. It's quite amusing that you have to do those tests even with an almost brand new car and yet on the road you see old remapped TDI's smoking like an old tanker. And last year with the E91 they made a fuss about window tints having a bad certificate. :fp2: Tomorrow we'll get number plates so it'll be finally roadworthy. I need to convince my dad about buying me detailing stuff and also the rear tires are pretty worn so we'll need new tires this year. Non-RFTs of course.
  8. You really can't protect the wheels from being scratched in any way imho. If they are curbed or have big stone chips and whatnot, I think the only way is to get those poor wheels refurbished. Some tires in bigger sizes have little rim protectors but that almost have no impact on defending the rims. Polish does not protect anything. It either fills (Glazes, Fillers, and after a few washes the scratches are there again) or cuts away (those are abbrasive polishes). Here's another maybe helpful link that I have in my bookmarks. By the way, cis, I thought MkIV's with 18" wheels had 225/40 tires?

  9. A little Start/Stop Engine button. Can't wait to get it registered, washed, polished, waxed after the Winter.
  10. Ah, personally, I'm not British to make ridiculous polls about goats or cheese and whatnot, don't have that sense of humour.
  11. Yeah, you too mate. I'm going back to school next week, this year's winter holidays were pretty long - two weeks exactly. :csmile:
  12. Just like Tevzadze, haha.
  13. Birthday money? :cheeky: Looks nice mate. Try some diving with it!
  14. Dear God, again? How many things from Burberry have you bought already?
  15. Holy crap, those Rote Sau screens are fapfapfapfap.
  16. Read you question in the CB and as hassan said I'm anal about our cars, but I'm no pro. So here are a few links that could help you a bit. Alloy wheel cleaner - Page 3 - Detailing World Most people use AS Smart Wheels, Valetpro Bilberry or Sonax Full Effect. But be aware that a number of wheel cleaners remove wax. I use a simple CG Glossworkz car shampoo because I'm poor and have no money to buy more detailing products. Some tar remover, iron-x, clay bar and a polish are also good to have. And don't forget wheel brushes or woolies, with them it's way easier to clean the inside of the rims. And please, no Plastidip. :ew:

  17. Not many polls and polls about polls are made regularly, just DGSoTW is the only somewhat popular one. No point in that. Even the articles have not been a big success... I like to visit, read and post in various threads so other section is again a bit pointless, at least for me. However, the Latest Posts section is really good and can't imagine the forums without it.
  18. Many of us who are big fans of the original TDU don't like the second TDU for a few reasons. You won't likely be banned if you post a TDU2 screenshot but don't take that advice as a joke either. Ooops, late.
