  1. Honouring The Italian Greats With Assetto Corsa's latest DLC, the Red Pack, comes seven iconic Italian sports cars and a new track to test them on! Along with the new DLC arrives the latest update, v1.7 with a number of small tweaks and big improvements as requested by the AC community. The Red Pack The new DLC is a tribute to the many wonderful, famous and infamous sports cars to come out of Italian factories bearing the badges of Ferrari, Maserati, and Lamborghini. With the Red Pack you also get a taste of the latest tyre model, version 10. While v10 feels very similar to the current tyre model, it is actually a complete rewrite and one step closer to realism. Tyre model V10 will be rolling out to the rest of the car list in the coming months. The seven iconic cars included in this pack are: Ferrari SF15-T, the first Ferrari GP car to debut in Assetto Corsa, and the second car made by Ferrari since the reintroduction of turbo-charged engines. Ferrari F138, a Formula One car designed by Scuderia for 2013's Formula One season. Named F138 to mark the year it was raced in and the final season that would use V8 engines. Ferrari 488 GT3, a racing version of the 458 Italia's replacement, the 488 GTB, which sports a 3.9 litre, twin turbo V8. Maserati 250F 6C, another Formula One racer that took part between January 1954 and November 1960, it had a 2.5 litre naturally asipirated straight six. Maserati 250F T2 12C, with a change in rules, in 1956 this 250F was able to run a V12 engine. Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4, this GT4 racecar features the standard 4.7 liter engine, however with the fitting of an air-scoop power is reduced from 488bhp to 430bhp however was fitted with a newly designed rear spoiler and modified diffuser to help take on its GT4 rivals. Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce, with a weight loss of 50kg and power increased to 750bhp this Lamborghini is a little bit nuts. 0-100km/h takes just 2.8 seconds and it can reach a top speed of over 350km/h. An exciting selection that'll give you plenty of entertainment, no doubt. As well as seven new vehicles, you'll also get a new track to thrash them on, Austria's Red Bull Ring! The Red Bull Ring is, for the first time ever in PC racing, digitally recreated using laser scanning technology. This results in the most accurate reproduction and highest level detail possible. Download now on Steam for £6.99. Version 1.7 In the latest update comes a number of new features and improvements. As the community has requested, false starts have now been implemented, which can result in players facing penalties for jumping the gun. New physics improvements have been included also, such as tweaks to the current tyre model which makes tyres more sensitive and responsive to initial tyre pressures, as well as improvements to the realigning forces, and more. Assetto Corsa is now able to simulate brake temperatures, which is initially included in some Red Pack cars and will also be rolled out to the rest of the cars in coming months. The KERS/hybrid electric systems have also been tweaked for the F138 to behave more realistically. Other improvements include new artificial intelligence algorithms and improved overtaking maneuvers, which result in AI drivers displaying a more varied performance during single laps and sessions, and also a new experimental multiplayer code which reduces bandwidth usage and improves quality of online sessions. And finally my personal favourite change in the v1.7.3 changelog, "Fixed strut suspensions going full banana". Brilliant. 2. Ferrari F40 Snow Camp There's a bit of a strange going on with supercars and some of their owners these days. The typical garage queen philosophy is going out the constant temperature controlled room window and instead in comes new and exciting ways of pushing these vehicles beyond anything they were typically meant for. As of late, it would be the Tax the Rich 100 nutcases who would be the ones that come to mind of who would take an expensive dream motor on some wild ride. However we are happy to say they're not the only ones, as this extremely well produced video for Red Bull called "Snow Camp Feat. Ferrari F40" proves. Beginning with the driver in the garage loading his luggage on top of the car and then taking his seat inside where he starts the engine, we are treated to the first clue that this is no mundane drive that is coming, as the car is sporting a set of rally lights on the front. Pushing in his favourite cassette tape ('a what?' the young 'uns ask) he's off along the wet and no doubt slippery roads to his first stop, the "Spicy Rentals" shop to pick up some items the typical skier may want: tyre chains and some studded tyres of course. After making sure the badge of the Prancing Horse isn't covered in snow, it's time to drop the power and head up the hills, ignoring the ski-lifts as obviously you cannot get a car into them. Blasting along some snow-covered trails with the rear stepping out, surprising those who are just walking along, this is where we see the person behind the wheel show off their outstanding car control. Night falls and it's all downhill from here... literally. The car speeds down the slope with all lights blazing, bouncing about due to the uneven surface it is currently hitting with crazy velocity, and then after reaching the bottom it's back onto the narrow trails. Surrounded by trees and with even more snow falling, we again see the driver pilot the legendary F40 with precision and skill that makes your eyes widen and your ears do nothing but hear the gorgeous noises being spat out as the engine rings out the notes of what the driver's feet are playing. (Yep, I did just write that didn't I?) Locating a good place to stop for the night, it's time to park up, collect some wood, strike up a fire and cook yourself some noodles. And if you're still not quite ready for bed after your feed, it's only normal to light up a flare, walk through the woods and hold it aloft while looking out towards the city lights.
