My game runs VERY laggy on my laptop and I was wondering if anybody knew how to somehow fix this, or at least change the settings so that it runs A LOT smoother. The reason I am wondering is because I have a G25 coming soon, and I don't wanna use it if my game runs like crap.

your problem is the laptop. unless you own a VERY high end gaming laptop, games like TDU will NOT run well at all. post your laptops specs. if it meets the RECOMMENDED specs, then it SHOULD be ok, but still, because its a laptop, it might not have enough processing power to run the game.

you could make sure the graphics settings are on very low by going to options in the main menu or pause menu and selecting video, or it could be another one, just cant remember the name. make sure AA is off, HDR is off, and it says low on detail settings.

these settings will run the best they can with your laptop.

hope i have helped!

Alright, so I looked up my specs and came up with this:

Dell Inspiron 1525

Processor - Intel Core2Duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00GHz

RAM - 3.00 GB

System Type - 32-bit Operating System

Video Processor - Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family

Video Memory Size - 448 MB

If you need more info, just let me know. Thanks for your help!!

i am not familiar with laptops, but i think you will have to buy a whole new laptop if you want an upgrade. plus, with it being a dell, you will have to send it to them for ANY upgrade as far as i know. with a normal laptop (other brand) you can upgrade the ram and hard drive all by yourself!

Dont get me wrong, but TDU is an old game and doesnt need a Very high end gaming laptop/desktop.

Anyway i've speed up tdu by removing the grass. I know it sounds stupid, but know i gain 5fps with that.

Would I be able to purchase a video card from Best Buy, and install it into my laptop myself, or would I need to take it in to have it done?

I should contact the manufactor off your notebook to see if its possible to add a new videocard. Remember if you buy a new videocard for you notebook that you buy videocards made for notebooks.

I know its an older game, but the $1800 laptop that i use doesnt even run fable 1 properly on the lowest possible graphics. thats the reason i said that, and the laptop i use will definitely not play TDU if it doesnt run fable well on very low.

To run it well it needs a high endish PC. My old PC stuttered with it a fair bit & that had a Nvidia 7600GS.

mmmm, thats why i said a high end laptop. because its a laptop, it is a lot less capable than a tower pc. yes, it may have a ok processor, but the graphics card has to be pretty darn good to run anything. integrated just wouldn't cut it.

Yup. Integrated graphics cant run s...crap. My Vaio only just manages to run GTA:SA

as for the game not starting...Resolution defaults at 640x480 anyway, until it's changed. I have a widescreen monitor, and it works fine.

I'd buy a real cheap GFX card (such as an 8500GT) and see if it works. If it does, then you have TDU working, if not, you've only lost ~£40 ($80 ish)

Is there a way that I can change the game settings for the game to work on his 1680 x 1050 monitor?

As far as I'm aware, you cannot upgrade the GPU in a laptop. In most cases, it is actually an integrated chipset so you can't change it and if it is an Intel chipset, it will be integrated. So sorry, you won't be able to play it on your laptop.

Your best bet would be to use your dads PC. Post the specs and we might be able to help you find a solution to the problem with it.

I have put the game on my dad's PC, and the game acts like it is going to open in a windowed mode, then it exits itself. I'm thinking it is the resolution of his screen (1680x1050).

I am very confident the specs of his computer are not the problem. The problem I need help on is getting the game to sync up with his widescreen monitor, or a way so that TDU works with it.

oh, that might be a problem seeing as I don't think I have old monitors laying around. I am not sure though... I guess I have to go see if I can dig one up.

Ok, so here's what I found:

HP Pavilion 754n

CPU - Intel P4 @ 2.53 GHz

RAM - 1.49GB

Graphics - Plug and Play Monitor Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GU

mod edit: Please don't double post, thanks!

processor - meets requirements.

RAM - meets requirements

VIDEO CARD - as this is integrated, it will not run TDU as we have stated before.

when i had my old pc, it didnt have a good enough video card and all it did was go to a black screen and shut the game down, and didn't work.

I say upgrade the video card to at least a nVidia 7600GS as this will run the game on low settings.
