Problem by making a HUD

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

Ok, I'm giving a try by making my first HUD for a probably future release...

But there's a problem... my hud become totally orange ingame...

Can someone can help me or give me tips?

The DDS are in DXT5 format, and have been converted in 2DB of course...

Thanks!

My guess is that you didn't made a proper alpha channel, and hence - orange hud.

Open your .dds with DXTbmp. Double click on that opened image and it will automatically be opened by your photoshop (if not adjust it in settings). Finish your editing in photoshop, press flatten image and save. In DXTbmp press Reload After Edit.

Next, in Photoshop make alpha pic. It's pretty easy, all you have to do is to gradient your hud picture in a white color, and leave background in black. Save it .as bmp and import it with DXTbmp. Now reload it again, and save it.

Convert it to .2db and voila, you're done!

If you want to make a transparent gauge, instead of white, use different shades of gray.
