It always puzzled me how DiRT 2 had some pretty good wheel feel but DiRT 3 and DiRT Showdown managed to feel quite awful, to the point of making the game unplayable.

While that did also come across in DiRT Rally that's all set to be resolved now. If you are a casual player, there's no need to perform any steps, just let the patch install and you'll be good to go and enjoy that new FFB. Codemaster recommend upping your rotation from 270 to 540 degrees to avoid snappy steering.

If you're a simulation enthusiast, you will want to take a look at the new Controller Options UI. Ensure you have the latest drivers and software for your wheel, and set the rotation as high as possible, and disable centering spring. Each car now has its own individual steering lock parameters built in, similar to Project CARS. This they call 'soft lock', and if you don't like it, you can turn it off. You can see what values each car has been assigned below.

To go along with this, the developers have listened and implemented a wheel calibration screen just like you find in other PC Sims. :yay: No more trying to guess what linearity setting to use. Just hold the wheel at 90 degrees and everything is calculated for you. Make sure you complete this after installing the patch.

You can also save multiple wheel configurations and share them with others in the form of .xml files.
