to check your RAM:

 

1. Click the Start button

2. Go to "Run"

3. Type in " dxdiag" (with no quotation marks)

4. A window will pop up. Under the system tab, look for Memory. and the number you have there is how much RAM you have! (Ex: mine says 1534mb RAM or 1.5gb)

 

to add more RAM, just buy at your computer store. to see what kind of RAM you have I recommend downloading this program that tells you what hardware you have on your computer. It's called EVEREST Home Edition.
