  2. Why has the Vehicle Models List changed back to a copy of the Customisation List? I edited it so that it had appropriate warnings and removed the stuff that didn't belong in it like the colour changing and all that crap? I'm not doing that again so I'll leave it to you.
  3. Cheers Neo, good to know a few people think we're doing right. Also if there is any threads/posts you want moved over let me know and I'll do my best to do it. Also if you guys can make sure that people know about this section as some people might have the old forum bookmarked only and live their. :cheeky: Thanks!
  4. Remember guys, discussions relating to Vehicle Models goes in the new forum specifically for this. http://forum.turboduck.net/forumdisplay.php?f=64 Thanks.
  5. Thanks dc, your thread is also yours so you can update it as you like. Also if your CGT goes beyond WIP change the Prefix to reflect this yourself meaning you keep those watching up to date on how it's going.
  6. Good to know and you're right a change like this does need getting used to but hopefully in time people will see the advantages to a structure like this, cheers mate! It would be good to hear from the actual model creators also, is this going to help you in the ways that was intended?
  7. Thanks Chris, I was starting to think all that work was for nothing. I think it's better this way and then the creators can show what is actually going with their progress and also it allows feedback to be given for the right model rather than having to scavenge a few pages back in case they missed anything. I'm hoping people will pick it up and it will run smoothly like a well oiled engine but knowing my luck something will break. lol Anybody else? :)
  8. It's scarily quiet in here, I'm worried. :ill: Please tell us what you think of this new structure? If you hate it fine, if you like it fine, feedback let's us know how you guys feel so come on get a typing! :p Thanks.
  9. How do you mean? And this small community has exploded in the last 3 months, members amount doesn't account for all activity you know. :D
  10. I'm going to see how others take to it, we have a somewhat in the know member at Forzacentral and his arrogance (especially about TDU) has sort of put me off. The MC games have never really been my thing so I'll wait and see what happens.
  11. I had some work to do and people to see so slight delay in getting these README's done. Will start on them again at 6 and then open the forums and then start moving and prefixing everything. Should be fun!
  12. The README threads are being copied over then edited to correspond to it's own section. The only complete one thus far is the Vehicle Customisation README. The others are being done right now, sorry for the confusion.
  13. [headline]TDU2 Mod Posting Rules & Guidelines[/headline] [First:] This section is NOT for making Requests, there is a sub-forum specifically for that, so please if you want to make a request do so there. Make sure to read the [!README FIRST] threads in these also otherwise your thread may be REMOVED! Hey there, In order to try and make it easy for visitors, members and the staff to navigate around here and find what they are looking for we have come up with a new means of posting your modifications. When posting your modification itself: The mod creators' name MUST GO in the thread title, there is 2 reasons for this; 1) If you are well known and someone performs a search for your name then the threads will show up very easily and 2) Those who don't search can also see clearly the creators' name. There is also a 'Prefix' system in place so that visitors can see the status of your mod straight away. We ask that you use this as it should avoid the usual questions such as "Where can I download this?" especially if it's a current WIP (Work in Progress) or you are wanting to gauge reaction. Want to test your mod before releasing it, edit or update your thread to set the Prefix to ßeta and those who wish to test it out and give you proper feedback will do so. Then once all is set and the bugs have been worked out mark it with the REL Prefix.. Example image of the Prefixes in operation shown in image below. - IMG NEEDS UPDATED - Sorry for all this reading but honestly it will help you and us out in the long run if we do it this way Now when you post that new thread showing off your newly created or updated modification make sure to add or edit the first post with the new information and/or download instructions. It would be great if you could also have some sort of brief history/changelog about the changes and at the top make sure to mention what is the latest version. Example [Click here for Mod Posting Template] If you wish for NO REQUESTS to be made in your thread then make sure to put the text NO REQUESTS in your first post and we the staff will do our best to edit or delete any offending posts. The main reasoning behind this structure is that it will make this section much more manageable for us the staff but also much more easy to navigate for you guys and especially the creators as you only have to update the thread you are currently working on instead of having multiple questions and requests being thrown at you when you are trying to concentrate on one thing. -------------------------------------------------------------- It will take a wee while to get used to but hopefully once you become more familiar it will become a rhythm that just flows. Cheers guys!! turboduck Staff
  14. [First:] This section is not for making Requests, there is now a sub-forum specifically for that so please if you want to make a request do so there. Make sure to read the [!README FIRST] threads in these also otherwise your thread may be deleted! Hey all, In order to try and make it easy for visitors, members and the staff to navigate around here and find what they are looking for we have come up with a new means of posting your modifications. Alright first this section is for Vehicle Customisation mods only; ie only mods that actually change the vehicles appearance and not the whole body of the vehicle itself. For example: Rims Interiors Windows Lights etc... For mod creators in the thread title put your name, there is 2 reasons for this; 1) If you are well known and someone performs a search for your name then the threads will show up very easily and 2) Those who don't search can also see clearly the creators name of which they will probably know already. Also there is now a Prefix system in place so that visitors can see the status of your mod straight away and we ask that you use this as it should avoid the usual questions such as "Where can I download this?" especially if it's a current WIP (Work in Progress) or you are wanting to gauage reaction. Want to test your mod before releasing it, edit or update your thread to set the Prefix to ßeta and those who wish to test it out and give you proper feedback will do so. Then once all is set and done and bugs have been worked out mark it as a Release. Example image of the Prefixes in operation shown in image below. Example (it means we the TDUc Staff can Copy the Below and Update the Latest Customisation Mods Sticky thread that will be up top) Mod Name [Latest Version No.] Creator: Name [image(s) Optional] Download Link Version History 0.8 shadow fix 0.2 blah 0.1: blah Remember, when posting the images, if you prefer to use the Thumbnail technique already used, please remember to do as follows: [imglink*]www.thumbnaillocation.com[/imglink*][/url*] This is to stop the forum's 'picture resize mod' from making the links useless. Use without the *. The main reasoning behind this structure is that it will make this section much more manageable for us the staff but also much more easy to navigate for you guys and especially the creators as you only have to update the thread you are currently working on instead of having multiple questions and requests being thrown at you when you are trying to concentrate on one thing. -------------------------------------------------------------- Feedback as always is appreciated and I'm sure it will take a week or 2 to get used to but hopefully once we become more familiar it will become a rhythm that just flows. 15. Hey there, So you want to make a Request for an HUD/GUI mod, well this is how you go about it; !!!BEFORE POSTING DO A SEARCH AND MAKE SURE THE REQUEST HAS NOT ALREADY BEEN ASKED FOR!!! [imglink]http://forum.tdu-central.com/images/misc/tduc_modsearchfirst.jpg[/imglink] 1) First of all make sure to post clearly in the title what you want, no "I want this" or "This would be soo cool" as this helps noone who is searching and makes it annoying to skim when checking New or Todays Posts. So say you want someone to make inverted dials on XXXXX car well your thread title would simply be "Inverted Dials on XXXXX car". Simple enough don't you think? 2) In the post itself if the request isn't easily identifiable then give a brief description or an image of what you're after, anything that can help people get a clearer understanding is always a good thing! Remember, when posting the images, if you prefer to use the Thumbnail technique already used, please remember to do as follows: [imglink*]www.thumbnaillocation.com[/imglink*][/url*] This is to stop the forum's 'picture resize mod' from making the links useless. Use without the *. Feedback as always is appreciated and I'm sure it will take a week or 2 to get used to but hopefully once we become more familiar it will become a rhythm that just flows. Simple enough don't you think? 2) In the post itself if the vehicle is not that well known or if it's a tuner model like a Hamann or Novitec it would be good to post an image of the vehicle itself so that anyone who may be able to do the modelling has a good idea of what is to be expected rather than having to go look all the materials themself. Front, Side, Rear and Interior image would be best. Feedback as always is appreciated and I'm sure it will take a week or 2 to get used to but hopefully once we become more familiar it will become a rhythm that just flows. Cheers guys!! Example (it means we the TDUc Staff can Copy the Below and Update the Latest HUD/GUI Mods Sticky thread that will be up top) Mod Name [Latest Version No.] Creator: Name [image(s) Optional] Download Link Version History 0.8 fixed spelling mistake 0.2 blah 0.1: blah Remember, when posting the images, if you prefer to use the Thumbnail technique already used, please remember to do as follows: [imglink*]www.thumbnaillocation.com[/imglink*][/url*] This is to stop the forum's 'picture resize mod' from making the links useless. Cheers guys!! TDU Central Staff
  21. Alright first this section is for Traffic mods only; ie only mods that change the traffic that roam around TDU heading to god knows where. For example: Bring in the hidden traffic like Limo's and trucks/box vans Changing the colours Give the traffic number/licence plates to match their uhh ...driving style For mod creators in the thread title put your name, there is 2 reasons for this; 1) If you are well known and someone performs a search for your name then the threads will show up very easily and 2) Those who don't search can also see clearly the creators name of which they will probably know already. Also there is now a Prefix system in place so that visitors can see the status of your mod straight away and we ask that you use this as it should avoid the usual questions such as "Where can I download this?" especially if it's a current WIP (Work in Progress) or you are wanting to gauge reaction. Want to test your mod before releasing it, edit or update your thread to set the Prefix to ßeta and those who wish to test it out and give you proper feedback will do so. Then once all is set and done and bugs have been worked out mark it as a Release. Example image of the Prefixes in operation shown in image below. For example: Different ambient sounds for the ocean or wind Mist effects Road texture changes and signs For mod creators in the thread title put your name, there is 2 reasons for this; 1) If you are well known and someone performs a search for your name then the threads will show up very easily and 2) Those who don't search can also see clearly the creators name of which they will probably know already. 23. [headline]TDU Mod Posting Rules & Guidelines[/headline] [First:] This section is NOT for making Requests, there is a sub-forum specifically for that, so please if you want to make a request do so there. Make sure to read the [!README FIRST] threads in these also otherwise your thread may be REMOVED! Hey all, In order to try and make it easy for visitors, members and the staff to navigate around here and find what they are looking for we have come up with a new means of posting your modifications. This section is for Vehicle model mods only; ie only mods that bring in new vehicles or alter the appearance through the means of using a 3D modelling program such as ZModeller or via texture modifications. For example: Vehicles not already in the game - ie BMW and Bugatti Special editions or newer models; ie Murcielago Coupe -> LP640 Vehicles that have been visually altered in their body style; ie +/- a wing Liveries Basically if you need to create the mod outwith TDU in another program then it goes here, if you're not sure post it anyway and it will be moved if need be. 24. I'm in the process of working out a structure for this matter amongst more organised and easy to navigate sections.
  25. I have heard of them yeah and I just had a quick gander at the website and they are a very well respected company and have a lot of high profile clients so to know you have worked and work on that kind of media is amazing to say the least. And a job that is unpredictable in it's work day is so good and exciting as everyday is essentially a challenge and pushes your creativity and innovation to new levels. I am very very much in awe of your workload and I would guess your portfolio too.
