I threw on the August 2006 demo of TDU earlier and was enjoying driving around the small demo area when the lighting became that orange high sun look where the suns intensity seems to grow and if you put it behind something or look behind you and whatnot it flashes like a massive camera flash and was thinking how much I miss this in TDU2 along with being able to look directly above me in a car with an open roof (the demo has an F430 Spider). Also it may just be me but are the clouds better in TDU also, as in they look more like clouds than the painted film set look that appears to don those in TDU. Anyway I digress but it just appears TDU feels more intense and better in these areas.

You have Hot Pursuit 2 in your signature so that could explain it.

I'm impressed with the underlying physics of the game in that FWD and RWD acts as they should, doing a front wheel burnout in a Neon is kinda fun as is seeing a handbrake actually lock up the rear wheels and upset the car.

I played it again and honestly I'd be surprised if nobody from MCLA worked on this game. Driving normally has that sort of cruise control option and the way your character moves in the car and spins the wheel. Very MCLA like. Oh have to say I like the cracked and shattered glass that happens on all vehicles, makes a crash that more impressive somehow and the sounds when crashing are great too. BTW park a bus or truck on the highway and watch the strength of the traffic as they barge into you and even believe it or not launch said truck 100ft into the air.

That is cool! That actually reminds me of a Meccano truck I had, was metal and all sorts and I played with it all the time. *sigh* Good times.

Very slowly, I'm waiting to see what Atari and Eden have in store for this month and some of next (news and content) before deciding whether to actually go ahead with the name and focus change. The multiple TDU sections did sort of annoy me and I wanted to make it more easy to talk about other games during the quiet time with the TDU series. Like I said we're loyal but we're not stupid.

ebay tends to have some good deals for them. They RRp around 44.99 but on ebay you can get them for about 35.

Ok run The Escaptist without using any of the boost for an old style Survival feeling, cops are ruthless and are faster than you. Using Shift to drive oncoming traffic into them is somewhat fun but those Corvettes are tough. Also in Team Colours, screw racing, just use Shift and take out the other racers. You can win within about 60secs doing this. I may pick this up when it's about £20.

That VT 6.0 and Balboni are nice. The Miura is stunning.

I have a fair amount of 1:18 scale diecast cars, not sure if I've posted pics of them before but I'll have a look for some old pics or take some new. Recently my nephew has damaged a few and when my kid brother was younger he broke 2 of my best, both BMW's in fact a UT E30 (quite a rare car) and a black E46 CSL by Kyosho which can now command close to £100 since they don't make them anymore. I have many from Maisto as that's what I bought when I was younger and one or two Bburago's. The cream of the crop was my Kyoshos but now they are gone I only have 2 decent models left; these being a UT Porsche 993 GT2 (very rare!) and an AutoArt Evo VII. I don't really collect anymore not only due to lack of funds needed to do so but also they get hell of a dusty out in the open so until I can get a good display case I'll be holding off. :) [+] Thanks for the link, I merged the threads.

Yeah I get what you mean, that's why I said it's lighter than it but I know that's not easy to discern. Maybe saying it handles more like Crazy Taxi but with body roll would have been better. :D

I'm conflicted with the demo to be honest. I get a sense of the old Driver style gaming in it but the handling is quite floaty and feels like there is a bit too much delay in what you do and what happens on screen, not like the first games where the cars felt weighty and a crash felt like a hell of an impact. The visuals are very nice in most places but some cinematic scenes and such appear to go to a strange sort of lower detail but that's not too much of a big deal now I think about it. I like the random chat that cars with more than one person has and there is truly some funny and of course cheesy voice acting within these but apart from this the visuals are very good particularly the crash damage. Other touches and details like your character beeping their horn, full steering animation and the sounds of the cars sounding relatively decent does make the game somewhat enjoyable. The story imo is stupid and I still don't like the Shift feature so even though the game felt ok I don't think it's a buyer. If I'm honest the handling felt very Midnight Club LA like, maybe a bit lighter and the visuals were akin to the same in fact so try it out for yourself and see what you think.

It's the image mainly, the name however sounds like a toilet cleaning product.

I like the Zonda F/Roadster. Maybe once the Explo. pack comes I'll also add the Cinque and the Tricolore to that also.
