1. the servers are/ were down as of yesterday, they will be back, you just have to wait..
2. but yet the game comes with a VW golf, A VW beetle and a citroen 2cv. not exactly luxury vehicles there..
3. no there is no secrets on this site. If you see it posted, we have it. if you dont see it posted, we dont :) but there are lots of other cool cars to play around with..
4. I hope you got Star's permission to repost the mod somewhere else.. he may want all his mods contained on just one site ( thats his choice) he may not really care either way.. But you should always ask the O.P about that before you go posting it somewhere else..
5. Wrong section mate.. You dont really need to be very familiar with the site, you just need to look at what the section is called. This is one "TDU2 Mod Releases" which means if you create a thread in here it is generally expected you have a mod to release. We do have a request section along with many other sections, you just need to take a peek at the titles. No bother though, just ask a mod/admin to move the thread.. To be honest you didnt even need to post, you oculd have just scrolled through this section , it lists all the mods released here, or at a push you could use the search box at the very top of the page.. (thats why you should always look before you touch a forum) But yes there are honda's, in fact there is a honda NSX on the very first page of this section ( just scroll down a bit) there are probably more as well, just go through the pages in this section and see what we have to offer. you may find there are other cars you like the sound of that you didnt consider..
6. Very nice mod. great work minime
7. Generally speaking No performance isnt changed. you are only replacing the 3d model of the car. Thats why you can swap an ascari for a laborghini but in the game it still says ascari.. so for 99% of the time yeah its purely just a visual change, nothing else.. HOWEVER.... SOME mods ( mainly the ones in the unofficial patch) all have their own performance settings. So yeah it has been cracked. just not that many people know how.. In regards to "will this give me access to all cars" As Andreaz has said. No it will not give access to anything new, remember you are just replacing a 3d model, not any of the other files. In fact you cannot even cheat or hack to get dlc cars.. There is a method to get any of the standard cars ( which includes all standard, racing school, traffic cars). but if its anything that requires paying real money for ( so any of the dlc cars) you cannot hack them EVER.. If you try you will get a "DLC HACK DETECTED" message appear on screen and all hacked cars will revert to pink miami mustangs. As andreaz said we cannot discuss this method i mentioned about obtaining any of the standard, race school, traffic cars, on this site.. but remember this is not the only tdu2 site around. the "car swap" hack is discussed on a few other sites (read my sig ;) )
8. yep its been working fine for ages. Just a quick note.. In the Citroen video that one guy posted. The reason it sounds like an atari 2600 is because they are only simulated sounds. In older cars the sound was the actual click of an electronic relay opening and closing. but modern cars do not use that system, so they just have sounds that play to simulate the ticktock of a relay. But that sound doesnt have to be an actual sample from a real relay. in fact most modern cars use anything but a relay sample, hence why you get very odd sounds sometimes, Sometimes it doesnt even tick tock, it just ticks. Personally for this mod i used real samples from an old volvo estate ( which does use relays) so i have a very distinct Tick Tock noise ( sounds like the tick tock of a grandfather clock) lol
9. Reventon. In regards to the porsche and a general release or just to a few people, i think you should release it to everyone. its such a nice model it needs to be shared with the world :)
10. Ahhh i see, so the UV layout was more to control the scratches than it was to control any body skinning.. i can possibly help with that. Ive offered this a few times to a few people, so i will offer it to you as well :) If you want, when you come to making a car mod, let me know.. i can work on the UV layout for the body/paint to make sure its laid out nice for people to sticker/skin. I have all the F4/FH models anyway, so if its one of them you are gonna work on, just tell me you are gonna work on XXX car, i can load it up, tweak the uv to work properly, and just send you the model to then import to Zmodeler and turn into a mod.. If its a model from somewhere else and you want me to work on it. just send me the model, i will tweak it and then send it back to you. It doesnt take long to fix that sort of thing with the right software..
11. Hey star... just as a heads up. Firstly... Thank you for giving me access to your copy of the model, i managed to open it and export so i could make a template from the UV. Unfortunately there is still quit a large issue with the UV map. i can work around it.. kind of, but i thought id let you know about it all the same. The top half of the rear doors and the back end of the roof overlap by quite a lot.. So if you paint something on the back doors, it will appear on the roof as well. If you use a logo or something it wont be too bad, as often vans will have a logo on the roof. but if you are doing a pattern over the roof and down the back doors it is going to look a bit odd.. Also the front right corner of the bumper overlaps the vans front right body panel slightly.. thats nothing major to worry about though. Here is what the UV template actually looks like.. And this is what i personally would have chosen for the UV layout... As i said it WILL still work, but we will just have to be careful about how we paint the skins, we will need to be aware of the overlapping parts. Also, if we want to use full body skins properly, then you will need to be able to remove the "livery stickers"... Actually i just thought of a way around that... we can just edit the livery texture and make all the livery stickers transparent so you just don't see them and just repack the bnk with the altered texture.. i can do that for you if you want, it should only take a couple of minutes to do.. Anyway, i just wanted to let you know what was going on. i hadn't forgot that i said i would do a couple of skins, or that i had ran away with your unlocked version of the model. that would just be mean...
12. wow reventon, i didnt think you would get to working on that car quite so quick. you must have had the model for 10 minutes before you posted those pics. :) Very nice shot for the "first import" It was the final renders of the car that that sold it for me, the car looked so nice in that deep rich purple colour.. its a very nice quality model, but then again if you have seen the price of it online, you would expect it to be lol :p damn near $120 to buy that model.. For anyone scratching their heads about "a purple car" heres what that model looks like rendered in a 3d app No disrespect to Rev, but no you should not pay modders to release things quicker.. 1: a model is ready , when its ready. no amount of money will make a 5 day job happen in 2 days ( im not saying it takes 5 days to make a car mod either) Just, it takes this long for a reason. 2: if you pay him to work faster there is more chance of mistakes. when you have your own time frame to work on you can be more thorough, but when you are rushed to get something done, thats when you miss things. 3: Rev isnt the only person involved in making that car. you have the people that help with testing, supplying sounds, the guy who supplied the model ( coz rev didnt pay for the model, it was given to him for free) anyone that is involved with helping Rev should get a cut of that money. but when its split between a group of people the few $$$ that a user is willing to pay gets split VERY THIN between everyone. Its easier to just wait for it to be done....
13. what you want and what you get are not always the same thing. You do not get to choose what cars get put in the empty slots. Xarlith does as he is the guy making the patch..
14. you betcha :) Just out of interest.. when you made it, did you alter the UV map for the body? I know sometimes when modders make a vehicle, they will move a few of the parts around the uv map, such as mirrors and things.. If you didnt move anything, then that will make things easier for me, i can just get the uv map directly from my copy of the forza model and make the skins from that. But if you did thats cool, i can just make a blank template from the van and paint over the top of that. It would just be easier if i know before hand.. Or if you have a blank copy of your uv map, if you sent that to me i can use that, for 100% accuracy. Mainly i just need a heads up on weather you moved anything or not. Also there wasnt really a need to remove the stripe.. If you take the van to the paintshop and repaint it (even white) the stripe goes away, but the writing and chequered flags remain on the van.. Incidentally.. if anyone REALLY doesnt want ANY textures on the vans body, you could always do it the manual way. Unpack the BNK, edit the vans main body texture to remove the stickers, then repack the bnk again.. its just a texture edit, so pretty much anyone can do that with the tools available to us..
15. Awesome work Star. Im very tempted to do some skins for this van. 24 hour emergency plumbers, Parcel delivery service, that sort of thing :)
16. That Lada sputnik, looks a lot like the old Lada Samara. is there much difference between the 2 cars ?
17. What??? that makes no sense what so ever.. You ONLY get a "DLC hack detected" if you have tried to access a DLC car you have NOT legally paid for ( with atari tokens) If you want to use DLC cars, you MUST pay for them.. No you will not need a new account, just sell all the miami mustangs at the UCD and carry on playing the game ( you will not get banned or even get in trouble)
18. most of the prices ive seen for the model were closer to $100 + the bonus for converting it. The only way you will get a fancy mod like that for a cheap price is if you supply the modder with the model yourself. Otherwise they will have to go buy it, which then suddenly puts an extra $75-$150 on the price
19. Very nice mod TheLegionary. Keep up the good work
20. You are a very lucky man. some one must be a fan of your work to give that away :D
21. So someone finally gave out a copy of that model then, wonder who was brave enough for that :) Thats a rare model to get hold of $100-$150 on most 3d sites. Looks awesome BTW, keep at it, i cant wait to see it finished
22. Very nice work.. this should help some users who just cannot get to grips with the standard bat based unpackers.
23. That's also not the attitude to take.. you should know better than that. @qaxan As a few people have said. to use this patch your game must be UNPACKED not just installed.. If you have not unpacked the game files, then when this patch tries to install files in a certain place, that place doesnt exist. Such locations as "Euro/Bnk/Vehicles/Interiors " Unless you have the game unpacked, that folder will never exist in your game folder, so the installer cannot put things there. The patch works 100% fine, there are loads of us using this patch.... BUT it will only work if you follow the instructions properly. Also... Taking an attitude with people when you require their help is NOT the way to go about things. A spoonful of honey catches more flies than a bucket of piss..
24. If you mean an unpacker for the game archives, then it is not needed to include one. there are loads of places you can get the unpacker and tutorials on how to use it. You only need to google a little and you will find them. one such tutorial is on this forum ( it's my tutorial :) ) why bulk out a patch that does the job fine, with extra things, when they are already available from plenty of other sources.
25. TDU modding tools2 was designed with avoiding things like this specifically in mind. so how about you ask for things that would go in a patch. Not something that is a completely different program ( and therefore a completely different thread)
