  1. Ye some posts on the other pages say it's a very horrible idea. :p
  2. Perhaps we could lengthen an SSR, and park the car in its trunk. Make the roof fixed so it can't retract and voila. x)
  3. I don't think Mustang GT is a typo, I think that was the name of the coupe-version of the Mustang as it was in TDU1.
  4. Why is it a problem? Just do some wacked combo-driving and you earned it back... :p
  5. Should be achievable. There are trainsimulation games on pc (Trainz, Railway Sim) that have traincabs which allow such ways of control. You can either choose to have a special HUD for DCC control (simple and by keyboard), or you can choose realistic control, forcing you to manually shift+drag all switches and levers to get moving. It'll only get problematic when the arms have to move along, but if they won't have to, it could be done.
  6. As I said, there's too much variables involved with articulating vehicles such as articulated buses and vehicles with trailers, that it's very hard to put in a game properly. The only way you could do this, is to eliminate the trailer and get something like these:
  7. If you don't know that trailers have their own behaviour, go drive a car in real life with a trailer. Go take a look at truckinggames like 18WoS. There's a reason most games don't have trucks with trailers. With a trailer, the whole behaviour of the tractorunit changes. You get all sorts of extra stresses on the vehicle, mainly dynamic ones because the trailer can move in many directions and will also bump up and down when driving. Driving with something attached to your vehicle is hard in reallife, which makes it even harder to implement PROPERLY in a game. You'll have to transmit the feeling to the car that it needs to carry a big load with it, without making the whole thing bounce like a monkey on cafeine. Losing control with a vehicle with trailer goes even further and it adds so much unpredictable scenarios that have to be taken in account, that it's just better to leave it alone. And I don't really see the use of it. The fact that many people don't show up in their racecars at the track I bet has to do with law and insurancing. The cars aren't aren't allowed to be driven on road in many cases and if you do so and crash it you can pay the entire shipload of money yourself because the insurance might not cover that. All in all it's just absolutely not worth to let Eden work overtime and delay the game for a good period just because of implementing trailerphysics. Even trucksims don't get the physics right, just to indicate how hard it is.
  8. The car itself hás been changed, I just pointed out the rims are totally different in their mesh compared to the old one, and it looks as if they dropped deep rearrims.
  9. That's a reallife photo.
  10. Higher detail mesh, better 3d effect of the road's unevenness, but then... uh ow, the wheels... Are they going to give all cars 4 identical wheels instead of deeper ones at the rear?? And what's happening to the wheels when they get blurred? It's like a 2-dimensional flat disc is put inplace...
  11. Ok, that explains. Thanks.
  12. There's something about the yacht being drivable, I know it's not full confirmation but for those who missed it, they did say it can be docked at either of the islands. I have a question, what's the meaning behind unique-to-car folding roofs? I mean for sure they're not going to put the roof of the TT-RS roadster on an SSR or Merc SL (different roofs, different stuff that opens to let them move). I don't get the idea behind that question.
  13. I remember that Codemasters and Asobo Studios were bragging about a new technology they used for Fuel. It's a game that has over 14.000 km², but because of that new technology of generating the gameworld and its regions (seamless transitions, no loadingtimes), they were able to prevent the game being released on a thousand dvd's (not literally, but you know, many). And is that a lot, over 14.000km²? Yes. On the straight highway that goes from east to west, uninterrupted, it takes a few hours, at a speed of just over 200 km/h (fastes vehicle except the unusable dragster). So who knows Eden might have used it, or have their own way to prevent TDU2 ending up on too many dvd's.
  14. Many perhaps don't even know the game but this statement reminds me of Alarm für Cobra 11: Burning Wheels. One of the final missions involved a very fast pursuit over the autobahn. All cars ingame were too slow so you had to search for carparts to build your own high-speed chasingmachine. Once collecting a part, you spawned back to your base (garage of policestation) where the parts got added to eventually form your car for that high-speed chase. That would be very cool, and simple enough too. I don't see Eden going deep into letting players build their own car as you could in Lego Racers or Supercar Street Challenge.
  15. If nobody in the USA buys it, ship it to Europe, I'm sure it'll rocket to twice what's being asked for in a few days.
  16. Diablo just linked to them a few posts up... Nice shots. Now let me see new cars :p
  17. You could also see the pay-for-damage like this: You can do combo's to EARN money, but you'll loose it when you crash during the combo. Maybe that's how you'll pay. And if that's not the case: cutscenes ftw, let me see some guys in a garage are carrying new bodypanels to the crashed car sitting on a lift :D
  18. Well those are the only ones I can think of with 4 wheels (or he must aim at 4 cylinders xD) and something with an X in the name. Plus I've never seen the X-Power SV in any game, I think I haven't even seen it as a mod. But for me the MG is a less likely option than the KTM X-Bow.
  19. Before he changes his signature again xD What do you guys think?
  20. @illumed1: nice one. The wheels fit good on it. I know it's impossible to reach since you won't save any lifes or fuel by limiting cars and bikes to a maximum output or topspeed. We only have the problem that in the EuroUnion and in Holland, many people don't know anything of the subject they have to work with. They don't understand that it can be avoided or removed, acceleration times remain the same, and mainly in the first areas where people should drive slow (such as unmarked residental streets etc), people will still be able to do 100 where 30's allowed. I read the thing about the cars and 150km/h in a newspaper, the subject of motorbikes to 100PS was even on the news.
  21. Hmm interesting. Prices, ok, but limited availability? No thanks. That's what games are sort of for in the first place, people love to race with cars they can't get in real because it's not officially sold in their country.
  22. Diesel? Rich people have people working for them. So let them paddle.
  23. Either I don't get english grammar or something's not correct, but I think it should be: Just saw an incredibly brilliant new gameplay trailer for TDU2 with a great new track which you'll love!!! That just makes me think of another good song :)
  24. Brings back memories of NFS3's Diablo SV in Empire City.
