  1. Well that's part of what makes TDU franchise unique, it's diversity of things to do. I think the problem is with the implementation of how they done things. TDU2 really consist of four careers; pro racer and illegal racer, the main two. Cop and outlaw are the two sub-careers. Eden mixed the main two careers together, when they should have been separate but equal. So the illegal racers are bound to the same rules and restrictions as the pro racers; required licenses, schools, championships, and cups. Those schools where more challenging than was needed for the very casual racers in TDU2, but to easy for the more hard core racers. What makes it bad on the very casuals racers, Eden fixed it where the big money was in the racing. And there's no point in re-racing those championships and cups, because the reward isn't the same as the first time, so that left the less skilled players struggling to get enough money. From bad to worst, Eden built a driving engine with an identity complex. It does not know whether its arcade or sim. It makes a great cruising driving engine, but very frustrating for racing. A good many people got frustrated and stop playing TDU2, because Atari would/will/have not made any considerations for them. So, it's not that they tried to give too many things to do in TDU2, they forced people into doing things to get to other things, and that took away from the total freedom feeling that was in TDU. BTW. What are those stars by this thread mean?
  2. That's not completely true. Valve does not allow EA to order them around when Valve is working on a title for EA. Eden picked the wrong time to strike, they should have done it mid development on TDU2.
  3. A vote of NO Confidence in Atari! Everyone by now have read the TDU2's FAQ, I'm assuming. Based on the responses they gave, we have formed some very strong opinions about Atari and concerning TDU2. Another forum poster pretty much summed up Atari attitude in one statement below. "It's nice to hear your feedback, but this is our game and we will decide if something needs to be changed, we will not be swayed by consumer opinion." ebig2000 And that's really "sugar coating" it. Atari Stinks! Arrogant, self centered, disrespectful, delusional, and stubborn are attributes that come to mind when I think about Atari's attitude, after reading the FAQ. It reminds me of EA's attitude about the NFS franchise. EA's attitude kelp the NFS franchise on the verge of folding under for many years. EA finally come up with a strategy that has stabilized the NFS franchise and put in a safe zone. They have a very good PR system in place now. The gaming world stuck with them doing their trial and error time. Now Atari need to ask themselves, will the gaming community be as patient and long suffering with them as it was/is with EA? EA and Atari has/is burning to many bridges for me to further support NFS and TDU franchises. As for me, I vote NO confidence in Atari. What's your vote. Well, I was reminded of the fact that Eden has suffered dearly for their part in TDU2 and it really was not right for me to "kick a wounded dog." So I do apologize to Eden. I have made the necessary corrections I could to the thread to fully focus on whom it should, Atari. BTW. I give no credit to EA, with the exception of being experts at BSing there customers.
  4. Activation limit-That one bad "apple"! I want to thank Atari/Eden for putting TDU 2 on the market. With its flaws, shortcomings, and oversights; TDU 2 is, by far, the best automobile game on the market. TDU2 is second to none, when comes variety of real world elements in a car game. There's a little something in TDU 2, for anyone that likes car games. I have gotten more joy out of TDU 2 than any other car game I've ever played. I honestly could see myself playing this game for years to come. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen, because the activation limit is going to put a stop to that vision. I looked through the list of all the questions being addressed. I started to comment on a few of the given answers, but only one of the answers given takes presidence over all the other ones. To us PC players, the looming cloud of activation limit, renders any, if any, improvements and request made to and monies spent on TDU 2, Useless. So if Atari/Eden made TDU2 the "perfect"(whatever perfect means to you) game, but left the activation limit on the game, all those improvements would mean nothing. Well, you could keep buying the game over and over. That would be good for Atari. The answer that was given to this particular question is completely unrelated to the question and the issue it poses. The answer given is, as insulting to the paying customers' intelligence, as the activation limit is to our money. To me, that's a little to much "F-U" from Atari to its paying customers. All long as that activation limit is on TDU 2, I'll never by another TDU, if there be another one, and it's very likely that I'm not going to buy anymore of Atari's products again. Once my activation limits are up on TDU 2, that's going to be the end of the TDU franchise for me. oshaylinux
  5. What if automobile manufactures applied a Draconian like EULA to their vehicles? 1. Would you think twice about buying that vehicle? 2. Would the people even stand for such? 3. Would automobiles have the same value? Just what do you think/feel?...
  6. I do sympathies with you. This is an issue that both pc and console gamers need to stand together on. Cross platform modding for our games. But more than likely, we will make this as console vs pc players war while the game makers continue to rob us all of good game features.
  7. Take my word for it, the NFS community is use to that, so they would feel right at home.
  8. My point being, if ISR was not going to judge TDU 2 fairly then they should not have reviewed it all. If ISR would not have reviewed the game, that would have been a clue to the hard core sim racing fans, maybe this is not the game for you all. You being a mod of a TDU franchise fansite; or are you, because you are confusing me?... Make no mistake about, I'm not lost on the problems and some bad concert implementation that when into TDU 2, I'm just a recovering NFS-aholic. I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of what a racing/car game franchise is. The NFS franchise is "bulletproof". No matter how much EA refuses to give the NFS fans the game they really want, a TDU 2 with NFS in its' title. And no matter how many "rejects" sold on advertising, false promises, and BS that EA churn out year after year, in the eyes of the game reviews and like, it gets a "pass". TDU franchise is not "favored", on its merits and strong support of its fans is why it exist and will continue, hopefully. TDU franchise give more of what we want than any NFS i've ever played, NFS Underground 2 is the only close. So yes, it's fair to say I have on "Rose-colored Shades", because if TDU franchise is going to survive, we(the fans) are going to have to make it happen. I believe it's worth it.
  9. Well they should not have reviewed TDU 2 at all then. What people choice to spend on a game is thier responsibility. I'm not talking about piracy, just choose to buy the game when the price drops to what they consider proper.
  10. I feel like the TDU franchise is not being treated "Fairly" by the gaming world like Forza, Need for Speed & Shift, Codemasters racers, and Grand Torismo Motor Sport. I was very hesitant to buy TDU, because of the negative and lack of info on it. After I bought TDU, two years after its release and for $20. I found it hard to believe a good this good and massage in scope and variety was not receiving the same welcome as those above. TDU itself, has outlasted most racing that got so much press. It does not seem like Atari put the same advertising dollars in it that those other companies due, but can advertisement really make that big of a difference to those "legit" gaming editors? So what do you all think, TDU franchise being treated: Fairly, Not Fairly, I really have not thought about it I dont care.
  11. I cannot understand why there's so much anti socialism in online racing games. If you approach some people they just jump to somewhere else. Some people try to ram you. Not many people are willing to race. TDU2 's environments is one of the coolest just to hangout in with your friends and to met people, but most are not wiling to do it. I thought the purpose for being online is to interact with other people, was I wrong?
  12. I agree with you in part. Eden is paying for their part in the -not so great TDU2, but Atari, the publisher could have rejected the project and told Eden to go back and get it right. Atari did not do that, they choice to release the game in a poor state, so they ultimately should bear the blame.
