I found them! :D I was looking for them around the like/reply buttons and I clicked reply and hoped it'd quote. :D I have another question - is there a way I can convert an offline profile to online? I tried making an online profile with the same name and then just swapping to my old savegame data, but it turned offline as well. If not, I guess I'll have to complete the game again which isn't a problem anyway, but for mod testing having a complete profile would be easier ^^

Hello! I decided to play some TDU since I haven't done this in a very, very long time. I was able to connect to the server, everything is fine, unfortunately I lost my savegame so I have to start from scratch, but that doesn't really bother me. I couldn't find this question in the FAQ, are mods allowed? Can I run 2.00 Patch and can I put in modded cars? I guess visual mods should be ok, but how about car mods? Also, if I edit cars with TDUPE, is that going to be a problem? I'm really tempted to put in some of my favorite cars again, but I'm scared of getting banned or something. Thanks!

OK, I'm sorry for your time. I fixed the issue. As the DVD that I bought is not with me, I had my parents read me the code and I downloaded the game over internet. Turns out I downloaded a game that has expansion packs that I didn't buy and it's a steam version as well. I can go online now, everything works. I got another issue tho, I got my old save from 2011 and it says my tdu2 password is incorrect. Any ideas on that one?

Hey! I bought TDU 2 on its' release, maybe even pre-ordered it (don't remember), but it's a DVD version, not a digital one. Anyway, I got a CD key from it and now I decided to play again and I fired it up, but it gives me this error - "Test Drive Unlimited 2 has to be launched by Steam". I tried adding the game to Steam, but it doesn't want to accept my CD Key. It says it's incorrect and I'm 100% sure that the CD Key is written correctly. How do I add the game on Steam?

Wow, that's pretty weird. I've used everything that's included in the mod on these pictures and nothing else as far as I recall. I didn't see your PC specs in your profile, so I guess it's either your PC or your game has bugged. Maybe try reinstalling it to see, but to be honest I've never had such problems so I'm just guessing. And I do use SweetFX but it's in the mod, so yea. Sorry for the late reply too, haven't been around for a while. Tell me how it works out! :)

I downloded a McLaren P1 and now I wanna put down his real specs, but it's quite a lot more powerful than the vehicle it replaces. Can I use it without getting banned from the servers?

Hello! A long time ago I played TDU 2, but then around mid 2011 I got bored of it and stopped. I had a save with a lot of money, lots of cars and lots of achievements done and I put it in My Documents and started the game and it tells me that my password is incorrect. I went to Testdriveunlimited2.com and tried to log in with my account and I couldn't. So I click on recover password and I type in my email and it tells me this "Unable to send mail. Please contact the site admin.". I have no idea how to do that. How can I revive my old account? If I have to start all over again, I don't think I'll bother playing. I wanted to drive some nice cars, install some mods, I don't want to be going through career again. Thank you! EDIT: temporary, I'm playing it offline with universal launcher, but I'd really like to play online again. :D

Speeder, is there a way you can make G27 wheel to work with FSR Elite pedals? That's the only thing stopping me from playing this game anymore. =/

It's been a while since I've checked the forums. The easiest thing you can do is go to Euro/Bnk/FX/Weather (or Weather_HDRI if you play with HDR) open it with notepad and click Ctrl + F to search. Then type NIGHT and search for it. Just below what's marked you should find a line: BALANCE = 0.05000 0.04000 0.05000 Just increase that. For example make it to 0.15000 0.14000 0.1500 and see if it's okay. I'm not 100% sure it's that line, it's been so long since I've modded this game, but try it and tell me if it works. Cheers! :)

Sorry for the late reply, I wasn't home. It seems you're using a different weather mod, so it has different colors and etc. And sometimes when HDR is on, colors may change when you pause the game. You'll need to find a weather mod that you like better in-game. :)

That's really nice, Speeder! Could you explain it as well? I mean, what's different between races and free ride. How will we connect? Like SA MP or LAN or something? And awesome progress you've made! You are to be crowned as the savior of TDU! :D

Did a little test. Firstly, after installing HD patches, reapply my "FX" folder. Secondly, my mod doesn't change the view distance. I wouldn't recommend to go higher than HD 100. To be honest, I would use HD 50, if there was one. HD 100 is too high and I'll just stick to original. Screenshots are made with original too, btw. :)

It seems there's a problem with the draw distance. I'd like to take a look at that Patch HD as I don't have it. I think you just need to use lower Patch HD settings. As it mods my files but it mods other files as well as far as I remember. I just can't seem to be able to download it now. Dropbox seems to be offline at the moment. Will take a look as soon as I can. Thanks for reporting.

Oh, that sucks. Altho I would never think you'd have any problems with such a PC. Do you use the HD mod? If you use it - it might be that. I'm with a higher end PC and get over 100 FPS always, but the difference isn't really that big for your game to lag. =/ Measure it with Fraps and tell me if you use the HD Mod. Because if you use it with these textures, it's most likely that.

Firstly, I want to say a big THANK YOU to TurboLag. I got inspired by him and basically, this is his weather mod, but heavily modified. So, this mod includes better textures (I'm not the author, couldn't find the author to this mod.). SweetFX - modified it to give better look of the game Weather mod: The weather mod contains 3 different sunny days. 1 day with rain clouds, rain feeling. The sunrise has 2 parts. The first part has a reddish feel, sun still isn't very powerful. It's quite dark outside. The second part of the sunrise has a powerful sun. The sun is really bright. The sun rays are firstly orange and then transfer to pink. It is very beautiful. After that follows the day. I've made 3 sunny days. They differ very little. Couldn't really get many ideas of what to do here. And don't get me wrong, the day is beautiful as well. But it's beautiful in a different way. It's very realistic. I've tried to make the colors good and the lightning good. There is also a rainy/cloudy day. As rain isn't really possible in TDU, I've just made it with black rain clouds and rainy feel. This day is really beautiful as well. Maybe even more than the sunny days. After the day passes, there is the sunset. Every single day, there is a new sunset. My favorite is the last one. Sunsets aren't as beautiful as sunrises, but the last one really stands out from the others in my opinion. After the sun has fallen, follows the night. The night contains 2 parts. Moonlit and night. The moonlit is just for the transaction from day to night. It's not as dark. Sky isn't completely black, but dark blue. I made the nights, not as dark as other people make them. I've made a light around the car. It feels a little like headlights when you drive, but of course it's nothing near the night you can see in TDU 2. If you have any suggestions on what should I do/add/change, PLEASE let me know. I'm always open for new stuff. Screenshots are mostly from day,sunrise. I haven't made any screenshots of the night. Will probably add a video and some new screens soon. Click on the screenshots to be able to open them in full HD resolution. Screenshots: To install, simply extract in your main TDU folder. It is VERY important to set Anisotropic filtering to 16x. I did this in my Nvidia Control Panel. I'm not sure how it works on ATI, but this really improves the quality of the image. Known bugs: - Sometimes clouds don't appear. To make them appear, just enter Photo mode and change the hours a little, get back to what you were before and they'll appear (if the day has clouds. Not all days have clouds). I can't really tell if this mod is making the game heavy or not. It runs over 100 FPS for me, but it might be different with a low-end or mid-end PC. Altho I don't think anyone will have trouble running a 7 years old game. :) Download

You've made the sound too "calm". It's an F1 car - make it aggressive, loud. :)
