I decided to play some TDU since I haven't done this in a very, very long time. I was able to connect to the server, everything is fine, unfortunately I lost my savegame so I have to start from scratch, but that doesn't really bother me.

I couldn't find this question in the FAQ, are mods allowed? Can I run 2.00 Patch and can I put in modded cars? I guess visual mods should be ok, but how about car mods? Also, if I edit cars with TDUPE, is that going to be a problem? I'm really tempted to put in some of my favorite cars again, but I'm scared of getting banned or something.

OK, I'm sorry for your time. I fixed the issue. As the DVD that I bought is not with me, I had my parents read me the code and I downloaded the game over internet. Turns out I downloaded a game that has expansion packs that I didn't buy and it's a steam version as well. I can go online now, everything works.

I got another issue tho, I got my old save from 2011 and it says my tdu2 password is incorrect. Any ideas on that one?

I bought TDU 2 on its' release, maybe even pre-ordered it (don't remember), but it's a DVD version, not a digital one. Anyway, I got a CD key from it and now I decided to play again and I fired it up, but it gives me this error - "Test Drive Unlimited 2 has to be launched by Steam".

I tried adding the game to Steam, but it doesn't want to accept my CD Key. It says it's incorrect and I'm 100% sure that the CD Key is written correctly.

How do I add the game on Steam?

Do you use ENB or SweetFX or weather mods in those pictures or any specific texture packs as well? Or is it all-inclusive in your mod? My TDU looks worse than I remember it on x360 and IDK why. Your pictures are excellent. Links are good :) Thx.

 

I have flickering textures, LoD things popping up (even with HD Mod max HDU setting or any other)

 

I don't have clouds, I have a "single colored" always hazy gaudy looking sky :'( IDK why.

 

I also have road connections (at turns) using the old pavement, and it looks terribad. =/ Any ideas?

Wow, that's pretty weird. I've used everything that's included in the mod on these pictures and nothing else as far as I recall. I didn't see your PC specs in your profile, so I guess it's either your PC or your game has bugged. Maybe try reinstalling it to see, but to be honest I've never had such problems so I'm just guessing.

And I do use SweetFX but it's in the mod, so yea. Sorry for the late reply too, haven't been around for a while. Tell me how it works out! :)

I downloded a McLaren P1 and now I wanna put down his real specs, but it's quite a lot more powerful than the vehicle it replaces. Can I use it without getting banned from the servers?

A long time ago I played TDU 2, but then around mid 2011 I got bored of it and stopped. I had a save with a lot of money, lots of cars and lots of achievements done and I put it in My Documents and started the game and it tells me that my password is incorrect. I went to Testdriveunlimited2.com and tried to log in with my account and I couldn't. So I click on recover password and I type in my email and it tells me this "Unable to send mail. Please contact the site admin.". I have no idea how to do that.

How can I revive my old account? If I have to start all over again, I don't think I'll bother playing. I wanted to drive some nice cars, install some mods, I don't want to be going through career again.

EDIT: temporary, I'm playing it offline with universal launcher, but I'd really like to play online again. :D

Speeder, is there a way you can make G27 wheel to work with FSR Elite pedals? That's the only thing stopping me from playing this game anymore. =/

but i got a problem when its reaches nighttime, i dont have anything like a headlight or so.. i cant see ANYTHING :D its just black^^ any tipps how to fix this?

It's been a while since I've checked the forums. The easiest thing you can do is go to Euro/Bnk/FX/Weather (or Weather_HDRI if you play with HDR) open it with notepad and click Ctrl + F to search. Then type NIGHT and search for it. Just below what's marked you should find a line:

BALANCE = 0.05000 0.04000 0.05000

Just increase that. For example make it to 0.15000 0.14000 0.1500 and see if it's okay. I'm not 100% sure it's that line, it's been so long since I've modded this game, but try it and tell me if it works. Cheers! :)

I have a problem with CommonWorld.bnk as teleport somewhere on my map.... game crashes and gives me an error .....

What does it say on the error?

Thanks,i tried and it did work.There is another problem.When i start millionaire challenge,it takes very long and the dark night will come.I can't see anything,and therefore can not finish the race.I tried edit WeatherDesc.ini,replace all "DARKNIGHT" with "MOONLIT".But darknight still comes.What's the right way to change weather cycle?

MOONLIT is basically night. Replace it with dryday or remove it. :D

Sorry for the late reply, I wasn't home. It seems you're using a different weather mod, so it has different colors and etc. And sometimes when HDR is on, colors may change when you pause the game. You'll need to find a weather mod that you like better in-game. :)

That's really strange, because applying Patch HD really helped me from huge FPS drops. Anyway, thanks again for your great work, TDU looks now almost like TDU 2 (maybe even better).

Maybe you had it before that, just a stronger version (like HD Unlimited).

Did a little test. Firstly, after installing HD patches, reapply my "FX" folder. Secondly, my mod doesn't change the view distance.

I wouldn't recommend to go higher than HD 100. To be honest, I would use HD 50, if there was one. HD 100 is too high and I'll just stick to original. Screenshots are made with original too, btw. :)

It seems there's a problem with the draw distance. I'd like to take a look at that Patch HD as I don't have it.

I think you just need to use lower Patch HD settings. As it mods my files but it mods other files as well as far as I remember. I just can't seem to be able to download it now. Dropbox seems to be offline at the moment. Will take a look as soon as I can.

Just installed it few moments ago and tried it. It looks amazing, BUT I've got massive FPS drop. Haven't measured it yet in Fraps, though. PC spec is in my profile info. :(

Altho I would never think you'd have any problems with such a PC. Do you use the HD mod? If you use it - it might be that.

I'm with a higher end PC and get over 100 FPS always, but the difference isn't really that big for your game to lag. =/

Measure it with Fraps and tell me if you use the HD Mod. Because if you use it with these textures, it's most likely that.

I just spend 4hou testing this mod, i rly have probs finding the right words for it, all i can say is a rly epic job u did there m8

but its way to late i would have enjoyd this mod 100000 times more with online servers and 8 ppl in the lobby with the same mod
