  1. Oh, is that what was up in there? :) And yes, but I'm pretty sure that's encouraged here :nnnn:
  2. How can you have been waiting for it for ages, when it was released ages ago? (thread created on 4 July 2009) Please check the date on the last post before bumping a thread. If you just want to say thanks, a PM would be better. :)
  3. Just like the muscle car series you were going to organise a few months ago? ;)
  4. ^Bloody Volvo driver
  5. I've done ~450kph before, don't think that was slipstreaming either. There was also a motorbike glitch where you instantly accelerated to 500kph or something
  6. The Fanta one is very impressive. I don't think we've seen any vulgar stickers (or hex edits) thusfar, so maybe a more open approach would be ok, as well as remoing the photos encryption (who vists other people houses these days anyway)? We still have the 'Report player' function.
  7. Or I could drive to my house in real life, and use the game to drive far away from my house, while only being a few rooms away from the pantry :p
  8. ...at least I *think* it's a car
  9. So what's the first car/track combo then?
  10. Well, we had our own SIARPC at the Top Gear track, but that got boring after a couple of weeks when the leaderboards were pretty much always the same order ;)
  11. Not if you're weaving through traffic to get in front. They get you where you need to be in a hurry (usually), which is all that really matters. The good rodas are just off to the north-east though: Google Maps :p
  12. So I guess you've never sat in your SS since then?
  13. Yeah - you can look at them here: Unknown road to Kings Way/Princes Hwy - Google Maps A to B is the freeway, with 3-4 lanes each way and a 100kph speed limit (except for the city end in the tunnels which is 80kph), and C to D is the highway, with lots of intersections, traffic lights, etc. It's usually 3 lanes wide each side. Leave the metro area and both become two lanes, and the freeway speed increases to 110kph.
  14. Hehe, the freeway was absolutely packed last night, so I went home on the highway (which has traffic lights/intersections - freeways don't). Sure it took a bit longer, but there's more oppurtunities to accelerate quickly which was fun.
  15. They are genuine VW parts, hence the price and the likelyhood that reversing lights won't be any better (Golf R owners have the same complaints about it as the rest of us). I could buy a genuine reversing camera kit for ~$600 but installation is much trickier. I got my car second hand, t. - much cheaper than what the car would cost brand new. A brand new at my spec would've cost around $40,000AUD, whereas the Golf R is getting around for $75,000. I'm not a big fan of loans or credit cards, so I bought mine outright. For me it's not about the price, it's about justifying it. The Premium Bluetooth kit set me back about $400, the MDI about $300, and the sat/nav infotainment system about $1200, but for the additional features it was easy to convince myself that they were worth it. Unsurprisingly, most of you guys like it, which is good. I think the plan will be to wait a couple of months to see how 'common' the LEDs become on the other Golfs, as I think they're now available as options for the lower models starting from the MY11 range. If they're still fairly exclusive then I'll go for them to renew the look of the car. :) The R32 was a 3.2 litre V6, whereas the Golf R has a 2.0 litre TSI engine, for better economy, but still a bit more powerful. The MK6 Interior is a great place to be in as well compared to the MK5.
  16. It's only cute with the voiceover dude in the background. Yeah, shame on me for not knowing (or being bothered to find out on Google) his name :)
  17. Oh well then that's settled it. *buys* :jk:
  18. I expected to see cars FROM HK, not cars from other places that now reside in HK (no idea what those cars might be), but great shots nonetheless
  19. As you all probably know (and are sick to death hearing about :p), I have a Golf that looks like this: Some owners have found the new LED tailights that come on the Golf R (top-of-the-line R32 replacement) and have retrofitted them, sharing instructions for all: That's great - installation should be dead easy (considering I've already retroffited the RNS510, Premium Bluetooth, and MDI options), but the problem is that the Ebay site lists them for $700. Maybe at around $300 I'd go for them (even that's a fair bit) but I'm open to your opinions. Firstly, do you even like them, and will they suit my colour car (since the Golf R obviously doesn't come in that shade of blue)?
  20. So you only have to find 2 wrecks like the rest of us then ;)
  21. Hehe, I'd pay $500+ for an accurate-scale Australia DLC. If the physics were good, I'd be on there days at a time. Believe it or not, but cars are usually worse off when they collide with a kangaroo. :)
  22. 'cars jumping' made me think of DiRT3, although I doubt Lee would tweet about that :)
  23. Well in that case I won't ask them to leave the physics exactly the way they are
