  1. I go driving in the fabulous Victorian mountains as well, and you're right Dredgey, playing TDU with a G25, TrackIR, ButtKicker, nVidia GTX 480, 24" LCD 1080p monitor isn't the same (although my back isn't quite as sore at the end of it). The advantage of playing TDU is that I can speed, drift, crash, cruise with friends, and I'm never more than 10 seconds from the pantry or bathroom should the need arise. Games that are nearly as good or immersive as real life provide an outlet for your need for speed, which means you don't have to hoon around and hurt someone in real life. If it can teach some basic car control as well, it might even save you if you ever do get into a spot of trouble on the roads.
  2. You have to be cruel to... oh, I forget the next bit
  3. Slippers with torches in them, I'm amazed it didn't happen sooner.
  4. I can do better than that, here is a complete transcript (minus the grunts and incorrect grammar):
  5. So we can go between O'ahu and Ibiza via yacht or plane, nice. Maybe the boat is instrumental in shipping cars between the two islands, although I sort-of doubt it. Then again, before purchasing the yacht, maybe you do have to buy cars twice at each island, or maybe each island only sells some of the cars at various dealers, and not all??? I like how the guy talks about the fantastic graphics, car details, and sense of speed (in an Audi TT) as well. Any previous doubts are now settled.
  6. I've got a cruise setup for Sunday at 11.30am GMT (2 spots spare atm). I'd like to team up with another PC player who hasn't got the achievement points for winning 30 ranked MP races, since I've yet to do that on my new profile. If someone else is available this weekend (preferably in the morning if you're in the UK or USA) then let me know.
  7. Sounds like more people want an autopilot mode rather than passenger mode, but anyway ;) 73. To show someone how to enable the drive-on-water trick, and then laugh when he finds out it doesn't exist in TDU2
  8. Oh, is that why we've been training pigeons recently I'm more impressed with their ability to read though. I must get a pair of those slippers
  9. What's the point of owning a G25 if it's arcade? Voted for semi-sim.
  10. The drit roads didn't look very real to me if I'm honest (in fact it reminded me of the ones from 1nsane Offroading), but I will continue to tell myself that it's an early build of the game and that the final build will look amazing. Also, keep in mind that rendering the game environment at its highest quality settings could take hours, so devs would rather render it at lower quality just to test the functional aspects of the game quicker and move on to the next problem sooner.
  11. In TDU1 you couldn't make the car roll over, which was a bad thing if you got stuck offroad on the steep mountain. At least now you will be able to roll down to the bottom.
  12. Apparently if the addon isn't activated you can sign in but get kicked off 5 minutes into playing the game with a generic Network Issues error
  13. Try going to where TDU is installed and run the program that activates your mega pack "addon" again. It might fix the problem.
  14. Thanks. I've got a cruise lined up for this Sunday, and plenty of pics in the archives, so I'll add some more next week after we're done drooling over the TDU2 trailer. [+] Here are some pics from an offline 'Be The Cop' session i had earlier this week. Quality isn't brilliant, but it can be tough to stop those AI cars, they weigh a lot more than my cars (like the heavy police cars): Had to request some backup for this guy: Not fair how they can break through roadblocks when we rarely can:
  15. Yes, that crossed my mind too. It's 66 btw ;) 67. So you can hold the wheel for the driver while he picks his nose 68. So you can balance the McDonalds drinks on your lap while the driver doesn't drive carefully
  16. Why do I get the feeling the trailer was finished early this week and they're waiting to release this on Friday just for some PR reason
  17. 63. So you can hold on for dear life to the dude in front when he does a wheelie on a bike. Cool. It's good to know the devs.. and ummm... CEOs over at NBP/Atari/Eden are keeping an eye on the 'Ideas/Suggestions' subforum.
  18. Yeah, I know what you mean with the Ken Block thing. As great as the game was, it was all over too quickly for me. At least with TDU2 you will have that freedom and diversity that is lacking, with much better controls/physics than something like FUEL could allow for.
  19. James May moment: 30% of 175 cars is 52.5
  20. List a few reasons why you could/should be a passenger in TDU2 - see if we can make 100 (without repeating others). Here are a couple: 1. Get someone to show you how to drive properly 2. Hold the video camera while the driver shows off 3. Get a lift to the car dealer so you can pick up your new ride. 4. Get a lift to the airport.
