  1. For once, I actually agree with Mb here. The idea of this theme was indeed not necessarily to just point the camera up (I'm looking at you Diablo :p) - even though that is fine; it was mainly to use the sky to creative effect (keeping your creative licenses within reason, mind) and to enhance the image. That is, not to simply use an existing photo which has sky in it. Sky is in a lot of photos, especially landscape ones. That doesn't mean a landscape photo counts as a photo of a sky. I would like to say now, the reason for me doing this is to get people being creative by taking photos to a theme. There is way too much of rule-bending here by not following the theme. I'll see what other people say about this, but its certainly not favourable from me.
  2. Not quite perfect - it is yet another random new thread. And I'm with GTAMADDOG here - she's still rubbish.
  3. My entry: if you ever wanted to see the horrid box that I live in. Surprisingly little was done to that photo - pretty much only contrast changes.
  4. Thats just an oxymoron. Some nice shots in there though (although the contrast is way too low - simply thanks to the camera :p)
  5. WEEK TWENTYTWO Rules: Photo MUST be taken by you. Any post processing allowed. No Voting for yourself! Photo sizes kept to 800x640 maximum. No thumbnails. Your photo will not be entered if it exceeds this. Winner chooses next theme (by PMing me). If someone wins twice in a row, the person they voted for chooses the next theme. If you post many photos, the top one will be chosen as your entry, but you have until the closing date to choose. Photos cannot be used twice for two different subjects. Tell me if I've missed anything, thanks! I ask for this contest to be a trigger of intelligence and creativity, and not just a fluke you got years ago. Please go out and take photos, not just take them out of your archives. Thanks. Congrats to Highline for winning his own choice of frankly the busiest theme ever! Thanks mate! This week's theme: The Sky There's a lot of it, and you can see it from almost everywhere. Day, night, sun, rain. Whatever you want, just point it up! Closing Date: 3rd May. Good luck! Entrants: 1) Spoon_Fit 2) Diablo 3) Mb 4) Koenigsegg 5) E30 FTW!!! 6) HTF 7) imintheshower 8) Speedtouch 9) Andreas 10) Car Freak 11) GTAMADDOG 12) BobbyV 13) Speed 14) zo6dude 15)
  6. Congrats to Highline for winning again! Rules are rules and he voted for me, so now I have to come up with a theme to follow this one up! I don't think we'll get as good a one as this for a while.
  7. A couple of things from today's garden session :p Lovely weather today. And another thing: I hate photographing flowers. I need something different! -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) -- -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) --
  8. Well I thought I'd post something different from...uh...Iced. Believe it or not this is me, just a few years ago. (I reckon I was about 9 or so). I wish I was this cute now! :p
  9. Meh I have work to do - have another go. Try something harder. :p
  10. I just looked it up and the bike alone is about £1700! You really are lucky mate - I wish I could have anything worth that amount. And I will say that you HAVE to use them for photography - moving shots from them or shots of them - perfect! :p
  11. Wow. Your parents really are rich (unless you bought them, but even so)! I really do need to come visit you now and nick them. Nice and lucky you eh?
  12. Can I have your quad? You can keep the boat... :p Great toys - and PICS NAO PLZ XD
  13. That'll be Rinspeed. Such iconicly *ahem* designed cars. However it looks like it says (and has the logo of) Pinninfarina on the front...
  14. ^ Try some grammar next time.
  15. ^ OK...calm down... And you will be more proficient at 'your area' with BTECs or other, because they are much more focused on individual things, leaving less room for movement away from this area. Further education is the same due to the way that UCAS works yeah. Simplify it to a points system - but some unis websites still say under 'Entry Offers' AAB (or whatever) rather than a mix of P, M or Ds. And as for jobs - all the bosses did A Levels, before the idea of the other qualifications existed, so sometimes may be more inclined to go towards the A Level student. Its not 'politically correct', but they just don't understand what a BTEC means compared to A Levels.
  16. ^ You don't need to be any good at optical physics unless you want to make cameras. Just to be able to take good pictures. And getting a career with a salary to live off as a photographer is hard. And being a chef is just as tough. The best there is being a mechanic, but again, it ain't going to be easy. I'd say go to university and do an engineering degree - everyone needs, and always will need engineers. Thats what I'm doing - engineers can be fairly well paid (don't expect six figures), and are in short supply.
  17. That bass beat makes me feel sick. Its a horrible 'note' and it never changes. Decent drum beats FTW. Oh and if you want a great climax build up - watch this. Muse finished their Wembley Stadium gig with this, and it was truly epic. Also better lyrics (it does help to know this song was written about world leaders, during the time of Blair and Bush), and its sung, not spoken.
  18. ^ I must partly agree with Highline here. The side profile and some rear bits are fine, but not that special. However the front is pretty ugly. Its mouth looks like some hideous fish, and IMO is more ugly than the S Type, which I don't find that bad. And as for the E Type being the car that is 'the sex'; two words - Aston Vantage. The XJS was too 70's, even though the random features like the side walls behind the cabin (added when it was thought the car would be mid engined, but they forgot to take them off) add a bit of pizzaz, the overall car is too boxy. And especially the picture Highline posted with the US spec bumpers. The XJ220 is amazingly cool, but faces the same sort of problems as the E Type - a weird mouth. Its just too big so doesn't work on the roads (unless in the US, where the roads match the people - big).
  19. Oh. Round here the schools do A Levels (and the IB), and colleges do other courses like BTECs. I'm still at school in the 6th form, not at a college. But I will agree that the 6th form is a lot better than lower years.
  20. ^ For us Brits, its damn nice weather at the moment, although it isn't the middle of summer yet. We may get some nasty weather again, but hopefully not. However for people like you who are used to awesome weather most of the time, its freezing here. I think it was about 10-11 degrees Celcius for the best part of today.
