Yes a PCI-E 2.1 car will work on it. About the card, if the 6850 is cheaper then go with it, otherwise I'd recommend the 5850 as it's sligthly better (For some reason Tigerdirect's site doesn't work for me anymore, so can't check prices. :confused:) When changing motherboard usually the best thing to do would be reinstalling Windows. Swapping a mobo without reinstalling can screw things up (before my current rig I just swapped it without reinstalling Windows, took me 1-2 days to get it sorted).

The non-K one's can be overclocked, it's just very limited (i5-2500 for example can be only OC'd to 3.8 GHz with all 4 cores active). Edit: Reading around, it seems you can't even overclock with a H61 motherboard.

Huh? GPU ram has nothing to do with system RAM. Also considering the ones I linked are pretty much the same price or cheaper and better, why would you go for the 6790?

Yes. As far as I know there really isn't "bad" graphics card makes anymore so usually it's the best to just find the cheapest/with best guarantee (if you care about it :p) make of a certain model.

Honestly it's always best to go for a good brand rather than a no-name brand in PSU's (don't necessarily need to be 100$ :p), though even with a good brand you need to be careful as the cheaper ones might not be that good either. That Corsair seems fairly good though I'd say go for this XFX Core Edition 550W. It has Seasonic insides which definitely is good. ;) As for the Graphics card I agree that you should ditch the 550 ti, the price/performance isn't the best in that one. AMD/ATI HD5850, AMD/ATI HD6850 or Nvidia GTX 460 1GB (not SE model) would be best ones in that price range.

Have you tried older Catalyst drivers (like way older)? I went from the newest 11.3's to 10.8's (yes August 2010 drivers :lol:), as suggested in another forum and got a 10-20 fps boost. :)

To me the AI has been awesome, they haven't really rammed me at all and seem to be aware of me just fine (have it on hard). TBH I find it to be one of the best AI's in a racing game. it does feel a bit too easy though in most races.

Yes but not both for the game (so I put for example a music player to the other one). Tried to disable the other one but didn't work.

Anyone getting a bug in photomode in Shift 2? Whenever I take a pic it freezes. If I alt+tab out and back in, it isn't freezed anymore but the pic comes out black. :/

I'd say the suit/dress slot machine is the easiest to get the jackpot (3000 credits and the suit so not much, but counts as the 'win a jackpot' objective). Got it in like 10 minutes, still haven't won the Audi...

7 - HCM/Aids off (voted for 7 even though I think it's worse than TDU1; Why is that on 5? :cheeky:) It's not really that bad imo, I got used to it pretty quickly (and once I got my wheel setupped so it has resistance) and even like it somewhat now. Bigger flaw, for me atleast is the lack of FFB...

Got a bit over 700Km in the Impreza, but I'm not really using it anymore so the Peking-to-Paris with ~650Km and the Tricolore with close to 600Km are catching up.

Knock off? GT5 and Shift are way different from each other. Both are track-based racing games, sure, but that doesn't make it a knock off. :oook:
